About The Big Sky Hideaway

A peaceful campsite perfect for a family getaway or a quiet solo trip, just ten minutes to the Lincolnshire market town of Boston and 30 minutes to the coast. Enjoy peaceful meadow camping or unique glamping options and create some unforgettable memories together by meeting the onsite alpacas, games in the communal barn or telling stories around the fire pit. Those wishing to camp in a tent have the option of the 12 non electric meadow pitches, surrounded by long grass and spaced out from each other for privacy. These vehicle-free pitches are perfect for those wanting to escape the noise, with wheelbarrows on site to help you transport your stuff! These pitches measure 6m x 6m so plenty of space for up to two tents and and five people. The site can also accommodate those in larger groups or families upon request. Each pitch comes with a complimentary fire pit for those nights in the open. Shared facilities are close by. If you are choosing to stay in a campervan, there is space in the site's tree-planting meadow just for you! There are just five non electric pitches here suitable for up to four people, a great spot for some peace and quiet. For those who don't want to bring their accommodation with them, there is also a large range of glamping on offer. Enjoy all the fun of camping without having to set up your tent when you arrive! Float between the trees with the haven hammocks, with a comfortable lay flat design for something a bit different to your usual night's sleep. Each hammock is insulated with storage pockets, and surrounded by a small garden with seating and a fire pit, or there is a woodland shelter for a larger space, just bring your sleeping bag and pillow! You can opt for the 5m furnished bell tent equipped with beds for six, lighting, outside seating and a fire pit. Or, the Lotus Belle Tent which is set in a private corner of the site, sleeping up to four. Equipped with a double bed and two singles, solar panelled lights, an outdoor fire pit with seating and a cool box. Facilities are nearby. Alternatively, there is a cosy pod if you're staying on your own, equipped with a single bed, a camping chair and a fire pit. Set in a woodland area for a simple escape in the great outdoors. The onsite shepherd's hut is also perfect for a peaceful holiday. With an extendable double bed, a wood burning stove, solar panelled lights, an optional solar generator, a fold out table and a stable door. Outside is a fire pit, a cool box, seating and even an optional hammock. The hut is just 6ft wide so may not be ideal for those who are on the tall side! For something a bit more adventurous, the site has three Landpods on offer, each situated in the three acre woodland with their own private field kitchens, fire pits, seating and a nearby eco loo. The camp kitchens are sheltered and hammocks are always provided for extra nap time. The Cosy Cocoon is the smallest landpod and is perfect for a peaceful retreat. Inside is one double bed, a powerpack, lighting, and a cool box. The Eden Lodge Landpod is slightly larger and sleeps up to four with two double bunk beds, the sides raise to let the breeze cool you on a warm summer's day. Equipped with a wood burner, a pull-out table, storage, a power pack, hammocks and a cool box. The Landpod Nest is the largest and most unique. The only one of its kind, the Nest sleeps up to six with two double bunks downstairs and a double bed on a mezzanine level. Inside are two tables with booth seating, two solar powered packs for lighting and USB charging, and the sides open up to allow a lovely breeze on hot days. Outside is a picnic table, a cool box, hammocks, a field kitchen, three parking spots, a fire pit and seating. Those looking for an extra unique stay can opt to stay in one of the two converted buses, perfect for larger groups. The double-decker YesBus is set up for up to five guests with a double bed, a pull-out double futon bed with extra space in hammocks or inflatable mattresses. The other option is the schoolbus sleeps up to six in a super king size bed and four single sized pods. In both buses, you will be kitted out with a fully fitted kitchen, seating and a table, power points, board games, an adventure library and more. Outside will also be a fire pit, picnic beach and a private eco loo and shower a short walk away. Please note, pillows and duvets are not provided in the glamping units and the site is also pet free. The whole site is also available for hire. Campfires and BBQs are permitted in the designated fire pits. The site sells seasoned wood and kindling onsite.

The site is open from the 14th March until the 6th October. The site is then not open between 13th to 16th May, 20th to 23rd May, and 7th to 26th June.

A note from the site themselves...

We've been living here since 2021, ever since we fell in love with the land during our search for a campsite location. We've developed Big Sky into a renewables-powered site where guests are made to feel welcome and can get back to nature with a smile and a campfire.

Our motto here is 'say yes more'! We look forward to having you at our site, Dave

Medium Tent - Meadow Camping PitchesJun 2023

This was our first camping trip as a family and I couldn't be more pleased that it was at The Big Sky Hideaway. Instructions for finding the location were shared with us shortly after booking, which was super helpful so that we could plan our day/ routes. The instructions were also incredibly clear and the comms shared with us on the day were also great. There are a variety of handy bits available at the shop if, like us, you forgot something last minute. The location: absolutely perfect. Nicely tucked away, the layout is very well thought out and the grounds are clearly well looked after. We love that sustainability and caring for the environment are a huge part of being on this site. The facilities: for a couple who usually travel and stay in hotels - we had absolutely no issues with the facilities, in fact we'd rate this so far above a number of hotels we've stayed in! There is literally everything you need on this gem of a patch! We loved the barn - huge, huge shout out to Em for the incredible pizza! Our son loved walking around and watching the alpacas too. The staff/ management: from the second we arrived we felt so welcome, a huge thank you to Dave and Em for being the best hosts. Nothing was too much to ask and it was great to be around such a friendly group of people. We're just sorry you didn't get your fist bump - next time! I would 100% recommend to anyone and everyone. We will be coming back, it is possible to camp with a little one in tow (our son is 1 and loved it!) and have a great time. Thanks to you both for a great first camping experience!

Little slice of heaven!

We just camped for 5 days at Big Sky Hideaway and we had an awesome time! This is such a special place, unlike any other campsite you'll stay at. The owners Dave and Ems are amazing people who greet you personally on arrival and genuinely want to make your stay magical. They are kind, welcoming, chilled out people who can't do enough for you and really send out positive vibes, so much so our group have a new affirmation; "be more Dave". We strongly recommend pizza night in the barn (delicious pizza for a very reasonable price) and alpaca feeding (such gentle creatures!). We will definitely be back. Book now, you won't regret it!

An oasis full of birds and butterflies! Dave and Em have done so well to create a peaceful retreat with nature right on your doorstep. LOVE the very friendly alpacas, the communal area where we had a drink and camp fire with other campers/glampers, and the little woodland trail with really comfy hammocks where we chilled for a while in the shade. Would definitely recommend this place and go back to try out some of the cool glamping accommodation. They make you feel right at home and part of the family!
