The Forbidden Corner

Nobody will want to stay away from the Forbidden Corner despite what the name says. This intriguing garden is filled with eye-catching delights and puzzling attractions, from passages that don’t lead anywhere to striking statues, underground chambers and water features. The garden is located near Middleham and stretches over four acres, with engaging sights to be seen wherever visitors’ curiosity may take them. Tickets are £11 for adults and £9 for children aged 4 to 15, with free entry for children younger than 4.

Diggerland

For family fun with a difference, youngsters and adults alike are sure to dig the excitement and entertainment on offer at Diggerland located at Whitwood near Castleford. For anyone who’s ever wondered what it’s like to operate and ride in heavy machinery and test their digging skills, this attraction is not to be missed. Diggerland provides the opportunity for children and adults to drive and ride on a variety of diggers, cars and dodgems, ensuring an adventurous day out that will be remembered for years to come. Online tickets cost £16.99 for visitors 90 centimetres and taller, while entry is free for visitors under 90 centimetres tall.

York Maze

A visit to York Maze will amaze kids and adults thanks to the chance to see the biggest maze in the UK and to go wild with a range of fun rides and attractions. The maze consists of over a million growing maize plants. The maize is harvested annually and new plants are grown in a different theme each year, thereby creating a new maze. In addition to exploring the maze, youngsters can test their skills in an obstacle course and a climbing zone, while an inflatable slide provides plenty of fun too. Kernel's House of Cornfusion will boggle the mind and the eyes and pig racing will have visitors eagerly cheering on the scampering competitors. Online tickets cost £11.50 for adults and £10.50 for children aged 3 to 15, while kids younger than 3 get in for free.
