Minsmere

Getting out into nature provides the opportunity for kids to learn about the natural world while being surrounded by beautiful scenery and having plenty of fun exploring. Minsmere is a wonderful nature reserve that offers all of this and more. Spot the variety of bird species within the reserve and maybe even an otter if you’re lucky. Access is £8 per adult, £4 per child under 19 and is free for kids younger than 5.

Africa Alive!

You don’t need to travel all the way to Africa to see its amazing animals. Simply herd up your little pack and trot over to Africa Alive! Over 80 different species live within this 100-acre park, including rhinos, zebras, cheetahs, lions and chimpanzees to name a few. In addition, the exciting indoor play area and the opportunity to handle some of the smaller animals are sure to have kids hooting in delight. Online tickets cost £15.45 per adult, £11.15 per child and are free for kids younger than 3.

Framlingham Castle

For sheer splendour you can’t go wrong with Framlingham Castle, a striking 12th century castle that is guaranteed to awe little lords and ladies. There are designated children’s and adults’ audio guides so each member of the family can explore the castle in a manner that appeals to them. Brave knights and fierce princesses will also relish the wall walk which offers excellent views. Adult access to the castle costs £6.90 and entry for kids aged 5 to 15 is £4.10.

High Lodge Thetford Forest

For a tree adventure that will appeal to tots and teens alike High Lodge in Thetford Forest is the place to go. The wild play area has lots of fun play equipment to get kids active and following the four walking trails is a great way to see the forest on food. Alternatively hop on a bike and put tyres to the four cycling trails that accommodate beginners as well as experienced cyclists. Entry costs £2.10 per hour per car.

Pleasurewood Hills

Screams of delight (or fear!), rides for pint-sized visitors that are popping with fun, as well as live shows are all on offer at the Pleasurewood Hills theme park. There’s something to suit all members of the family here, such as thrilling rollercoasters, the scary HoBs PiT, boat and mini train rides, Flying Elephants, as well as parrot and sea lion shows. Dated online tickets cost £16.50 for visitors aged 12 and older, £14 for visitors aged 11 and younger and are free for visitors under 1 metre tall.

Oasis Camel Park

Jumppin Jacks Funhouse

Jumppin Jacks Funhouse will definitely have younger kids jumping for joy thanks to the awesome indoor fun it offers. Slides, a climbing wall and a zip line are just some of the things to look forward to and there is also a separate baby and toddler area so little ones don’t miss out on the action either. Entry is free for adults and children under 12 months and £4 on weekdays or £4.50 on weekends for children aged 12 months to 10 years old.

Suffolk Ski & Leisure Park

You don’t need to wait for snow to enjoy snowsports. Just head to the Suffolk Ski & Leisure Park where you can learn to ski and snowboard as well as race down a carpeted slope on a toboggan, which is sure to result in a scream of delight from adults and kids alike. The leisure park accommodates beginners as well as individuals with snowsport experience, with lessons available for children and adults. Tobogganing is £6 per child and £7 per adult per hour, with snowboarding and skiing lessons starting at £44 for one person with big discounts for additional people.

Sutton Hoo

A visit to Sutton Hoo will captivate visitors of all ages as they explore this ancient Anglo-Saxon royal burial site. Families can learn about the area in an informative exhibition, while kids can have fun dressing up as an Anglo-Saxon, testing their archaeological digging skills, building dens and getting stuck into the action at the adventure playground.
