This historic country estate of Chatsworth House has over 100 acres of gardens, complete with famous giant water features and waterfalls. The house is as beautiful inside as it is out, with a large art collection running through the luxurious halls and architecturally stunning rooms.

Eyam

Eyam is a wonderful little village with a gruesome history. The black plague was discovered in the village in 1665 and the village chose to isolate itself to stop the infection spreading. The disease is believed to have killed approximately 260 villages, leaving only 83 survivors, making the quarantine decision both tragic and heroic. There is a good museum in the village that tells this incredible story.

Poole’s Cavern

Explore beneath the surface of the earth at Poole’s Cavern! You can take a guided tour around this 200 million year old limestone cave system, seeing the amazing stalactites and stalagmites which have formed from floor to ceiling. The cavern is part of the Buxton Country Park offering woodland strolls and fantastic views.
