If you’re enjoying a family holiday in Norfolk, exploring all those sights in the seaside town of Hunstanton is going to work up an appetite.

These family friendly pubs in Hunstanton will take care of those hungry tummies, keep the kids occupied and let you relish a well-deserved drink. You'll all be fully fuelled and ready to go again!

The Ancient Mariner Inn

Superb sea views, a choice of indoor and outdoor seating, lovely lawns and a children’s play area make the Ancient Mariner Inn a great family-friendly place to enjoy some delicious grub.

There is parking available as well as lots of nearby attractions to visit in order to work up an appetite, including nature reserves, a sea life sanctuary and museums. All dishes on the children’s menu cost £6.25, while adult main courses are around £10 each. Try the traditional steak and ale pie with mashed potato, fresh vegetables and gravy for £10.50.

The Jolly Sailors

About a 16-minute drive from Hunstanton in the village of Brancaster Staithe is the Jolly Sailors. This 18th century pub is both kid and dog friendly and has an outdoor play area in an enclosed garden that will help kids burn off their energy before and after they tuck into some delicious dishes.

Mum and dad may want to sample some ales from the Jolly Sailors’ associated brewery, Brancaster Brewery. Quick bites are available at the bar or alternatively enjoy a meal from the garden menu, such as fish and chips for £10.95. There is a designated kids’ menu ranging from £4.50 to £5.75.

The pub hosts the annual Norfolk Ale and Music Festival. For some furry fun, try a boat trip to Blakeney Point where you can see cute, sleek seals and a variety of birds. If you fancy taking to the water yourself, kayaking and sailing activities are available from SailCraft Sea School.

The Wash and Tope

Aptly named for its proximity to the Wash, a simple stroll across the road from the Wash and Tope pub will bring you to the beachfront so if you’re keen for sea views and sumptuous family-friendly dining, this is the place to go! Main meals cost around £7 or £8. When the tide is out on the beach, you can walk along the sand towards the lighthouse on the right or alternatively head left towards the ruins of an ancient chapel built by St. Edmund.

The Honeystone

Situated on the outskirts of Hunstanton, the Honeystone offers two-for-one deals on all their main courses, with a separate children’s menu that allows kids to make up their meal from a selection of tasty options. Kids will be kept entertained with the indoor and outdoor play areas while parents can take it easy in the outdoor patio area if the weather is sunny. Younger kids’ meals are £3.99 and older kids’ meals cost £4.49, while adult main meals are around the £10 mark. Try the sticky BBQ chicken for £10.60.

The Honeystone is a short walk from the beach, making this a handy choice if you’re hungry for refreshments before or after exploring.
