From start to finish, this family run site did not disappoint. On checking in you are shown to your pitch, not just here is a map and x marks the spot. The loos are excellent. Clean and fresh. Showers big and plenty of hot water. Will be back soon.
Nice site but shame about the road

Nice campsite with lovely clean facilities. Good sized tent pitches and reasonably priced. Only down side was the proximity of the main road on the lower field, which was noisy and lots of night road lights that took away from the otherwise lovely location. Nice pub 5 mins down the road. Loved the mobile pizza on the Friday night and pint of the local beer from the on site pop up.
A little gem

Lovely campsite. Friday pizza truck is amazing when turning up on a Friday. Chris, one of the owners, was really helpful and attentive. If you are lower down the hill, the road noise is more noticeable, but we could barely hear it and we were only one tree line back.

A warm welcome when we arrived. Very helpful from our hosts. A well run and well maintained site. Great facilities with an excellent shower and toilet arrangement. A credit to the owners, Sarah and Calvin. A very friendly atmosphere with excellent pitches. The views were exceptional. Fridge and freezer facilities for campsite users too. The reception-come-shop, catered for every need, a veritable Aladdins cave. The pop up cafe with pizza on the Friday is an excellent idea and well used. A top caravan and camping site, which is a credit to the owners and wardens. We would love to come again.

This was an excellent discovery for 3 nights and only wish it had been longer. Pre arrival information was excellent, telling us which lanes to avoid. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities very good. Highly recommended.

This has to be the cleanest campsite I have ever stayed in. Add to that the facilities within the pod (tea/coffee/kettle, microwave, fridge). It was beyond expectation. The welcome was pleasant and helpful and the shop is very well stocked. The coffee and croissant van was a bonus.

We found this site excellent, large spot enough for a gazebo, parking for campervan and room for dog on fixed lead. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Facilities were very clean and comfortable, hot showers, clean toilets, even warm tap to wash a muddy dog. Excellent.

We had a lovely stay at Cwmdu Campsite. The staff were so helpful with giving tips on where to go nearby for wild swims and when we forgot to bring a pan, they let us borrow one. Love that the fire pits and BBQs are free to use as well. A lovely, peaceful stay.

Incredible site, can't speak highly enough of it. Close enough to a main town for food and supplies, but also a great spot to start any of the main hikes around the Beacons.
Excellent short stopover

We only had the one night on site but it was superb, despite the Welsh weather - plenty of rain etc. Great popup kitchen for breakfast and a coffee. Great site, great team.

Great site. We were very grateful for a gravel pitch after the Easter mud bath! Fab site, very friendly. Spotless toilets and showers. Bacon butty and coffee van on site was an unexpected bonus and the Farmer's Arms, a short walk away, was absolutely fab for food and a pint.

The campsite was in a convenient location, except for the A479 road. Because I was in a roof top tent and pitched near the bottom of the campsite, right near the road, I was very bothered by the constant noise and thundering lorries going by, especially at 1am. Such a shame as it is a beautiful campsite, run by a very welcoming and lovely young couple who keep the place beautifully. So helpful and friendly. Lovely views as well from the campsite, with big pitches. I think if you're pitched further away from the A road and in a motorhome or campervan, it would be better. If it wasn't for the road, I would definitely be back. Having spoken with the person who runs it, they are planning on trying to cut down on the road noise. Apparently it never used to be so noisy until a decision was made by Highways to divert some traffic along this main trunk road.

I was disappointed to find pub closed on our first night, despite saying it was open. I think it's worth the campsite being more knowledgeable about opening times. Similarly, the pizza night advertised on the blackboard at the campsite wasn't up to date. This was disappointing when you plan your shopping and day around staying on site for a pizza. These issues wouldn't matter if the site was located to other evening eating options but there are no others within walking distance. Having said this, the staff were really friendly, the on-site shop was really useful, shower and toilet facilities were clean with consistent hot water. For driving to different sites, the location was very convenient.

We absolutely loved staying here. The campsite itself is situated in a quiet location, but within walking distance to the local pub (The Farmers Arms) and village. Plenty of hot showers and clean toilets, washing area and utilities. A great shop for snacks and gifts. On Sunday morning we treated ourselves to a breakfast bap from the hot food trailer. Delicious! The campsite is dog friendly, and although we didn't take our little furry monsters, we will return with them. This is a quiet campsite and we enjoyed the peace which complemented the breath-taking views. There was a small group of people who didn't respect the campsite, but these were dealt with in a fashion that can't be faulted. The owners of this campsite were the "pièce de résistance" - friendly, happy and extremely helpful. Although new to the site itself, you would have thought they had been there forever. We went on a few local walks and debated climbing the "Black Mountains" which we decided against as it was drizzly. We did walk to Llangynidr which was about 6 kilometres. This has a beautiful canal which we strolled along. It also has a river and you can walk over the "Skinny Bridge" to take in the views. We ate at the Red Lion, which fortunately for us, was showing the Ryder Cup. Then a lazy stroll back. This walk in particular was met with a very busy A40, which I would not recommend for children or dogs. There are plenty of other walks to take, so don't let this put you off! I have been on many campsites, this by far is my favourite. We without doubt will be back and will definitely be recommending to our friends, family and anyone else who cares to wonder. Thank you for a lovely time.

Lovely green site with lots to do locally, including walks right from the campsite and a nearby castle to explore. Very good facilities, a well stocked shop and the coffee truck was a nice bonus. The staff here were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We really enjoyed our stay with campfires and stargazing. My only suggestion would be a requirement for other campers to have to keep their dogs on their own pitches to help those of us nervous around unfamiliar dogs that come rushing and barking towards you.
Fantastic!
