Sprinter-Type Campervan - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2025

Close to Chester city centre, we walked in (3 mile walk mainly along the canal) then got a taxi back (which cost about £10). Quiet and peaceful location, good for families and couples. Good size plots, toilets and showers are clean but be aware, there is only toilet and one shower in the ladies (same in the gents). It was not a big campsite and so this didn't cause an issue for us.

VW-Type Campervan - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2025

What a great little find, will definitely be making it a regular place to visit, great to get away and do nothing, had a walk into the village, can't fault the place.

Perfect quiet site

Medium Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

Very basic but perfect site. One toilet for women and 1 for men. I didn't venture off site as I just wanted a quiet weekend. I think this would be a perfect, adult only site as there isn't much for children to do and with it being small, they were very loud at times. This didn't affect my stay but a few others it did bother. I will definitely be going back.

Location is great but the site needs improvement

Single Axle Caravan - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

The site location is great, on a working farm with lovely cows around. However the site needs work completing to fit basic requirements. There was only one toilet for both men and women. The shower was extremely basic and dirty when we stayed. The washing up sink was at the edge of the field balancing on a set of bricks with brick dust everywhere, so hard to keep the dishes clean. We walked to the local pub (Plough Inn) and had a lovely meal but there is no path, with cars passing at speed so it is dangerous to walk on it. The main problem with this site is the layout, on the field with an open space in the middle. Kids were allowed to run riot, screaming continuously until 11:30pm and beyond! It was definitely not peaceful when we stayed. Maybe we were just unlucky but we will not be staying here again. Also, kids kicking the ball towards caravans and parents not telling them to stop. Extremely tight to enter this site with a caravan. It's a shame because it's a lovely location, but needs more work to improve the experience for everyone.

VW-Type Campervan - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

A lovely site with nice amenities including clean showers, toilets and laundry. The only downside for me was the lack of a shop. They do sell ice cream and snacks. Also, I feel charging for showers is a bit naughty.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2025

We really enjoyed our stay, the campsite basic but met our needs. The showers hot, only one female and one male. Only one toilet each too which wasn't a problem when we were there as not busy, but could be at busier times. Owners lovely and friendly. It's a working farm. No frills but great. Location excellent to walk into Chester by canal in village.

Great as always

We really enjoyed our time at this farm. If we ever needed to be up around the area again, we would definitely go back. Peaceful, very pretty and the owner was very friendly. Brilliant.

Twin Axle Caravan - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)May 2025

Great campsite! Beautiful views, what better to look out your window and see cows and their calves. The kids had the best time making friends and playing football. They had a better time here than they do on a campsites with parks and swimming pools. They were just able to run around and have fun. The host was lovely and even though we arrived late at 22:00, still came out to make sure we were happy and knew where everything was. Couldn't recommend this campsite enough, will be returning.

Medium Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Sep 2024

A nice, small and quiet site, a few miles down the canal from Chester. A working farm with cows in the adjacent field. One toilet and shower for men, there is 1 for women which is ok for the small number of pitches. Friendly owners, I enjoyed the stay and would stay again.

VW-Type Campervan - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

We cannot rate the site enough! Although it was just a pit stop for us, we would have happily stayed a week here. Being on a working farm, we loved being surrounded by the cows. There was a great atmosphere, fab facilities (including a washing up station!), and the team were incredible and friendly. We got into a spot of bother when our van wouldn't start the next morning, and the team went above and beyond to help us get back on the road and jump start the van. Such a great place, and lovely people - we will definitely return (hopefully with a fixed van!)

Nice site, but certainly not quiet

Large Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

We came here for the bank holiday weekend with 3 children and a dog. All the other reviews are absolutely accurate - lovely little site with only 10 pitches. Large pitches, one toilet and one shower - which was fine for the amount of people on site. The cows coming to the fence for apples were a great experience for the children. However, the cows are both the highlight and the issue at this campsite. Essentially, you are sharing a field with 30+ cows. They seem to be communicating with each other through the night. On the first night, we were woken up at 5:30am to loud 'mooing' from our friends. On the 2nd night, we were woken at 2:30am - they didn't stop then throughout the night. Planning a busy sightseeing weekend meant we had very tired, upset children and a spooked dog. I feel bad writing this in a review, but I think it's only right to let people know that although the pictures look fabulous and the children were happy in the day, this is not a campsite to come to if you want sleep! Like I say, everything else to mention was fine. It's a shame, but this would stop us visiting again. Perhaps the cows need to be moved away to a further field for the night time (I know they wandered further away during the day).

Great short break away

Great weekend away. Clean, tidy campsite. Would definitely book again. Aldi was only 8 min drive away, and a lovely pub Plough Inn a 3 min drive away, dog friendly with reasonably priced food.

Medium Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

Small family-run site, no frills, no fuss. Ideal for a quiet off the grid stay. Facilities are minimal but clean and tidy. Very quiet yet very close to Chester. Park and ride only 10 minutes away. Service station with Aldi only a couple of miles down the road.

Lovely quiet site

Medium Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

First time staying at this campsite. It was absolutely beautiful and relaxing. The facilities are basic but clean and did the job. Smaller site than I thought but it was perfect and quiet. It is a working farm so lots of cows in the field, we fed them apples each day that fell from the apple trees on the site. Electricity available. Lovely little pub called the plough around 15 minute walk away that do the most amazing Sunday roast. We will certainly be back to this site.
