The Dorset Hideaway is in an ideal location for exploring Dorset, within 15 minutes of Lyme Regis, Bridport and Charmouth Beach. There are a range of grass and hardstanding pitches, including options with electric and private fire pits. Adult only glamping includes yurts, domes and a cabin, all with private hot tubs. Unwind at the onsite spa or try a spot of fishing in the private ponds. Free tractor trailer rides run during peak times too!

Perfect spot to camp. The shower/toilet block are spotlessly clean. Can't wait to return.

Lovely secure campsite, nice size pitches. Very peaceful. Downside is the lack of little shop on campsite for bare necessities, as there is nothing around for 3 miles.
Pitches excellent

Pitches and facilities excellent… but so remote… unable to buy ANYTHING for 5 miles.. maybe a vending machine at least would work? Also neighbour wanted to leave before 8 am and couldn’t because gates didn’t open until 8 am. What if there was an emergency? Answer machine on from 6 pm till 8 am.. how do emergency services get in or the campers out, in an emergency? Loves the dog cleaning facilities
Lovely site!

The Dorset hideaway is a lovely site with plenty of charm and very nice amenities. The toilet block and wash facilities were some of the nicest we have seen. They were spotlessly clean. The site was very pleasant and quiet. We had a non-electric grass pitch which was adequate, however a particular criticism I had is that they hadn't mowed the grass for non electric patches which was a bit inconsiderate. Had it been wet weather we would almost certainly have had wet feet every time we went to the loo and giving that the area around the site is clearly a working farm surrounded by sheep and other livestock, having long grass is asking for trouble with ticks and other bugs. Additionally, the non electric patch is as far away from the toilet block as you can be on the site so be aware when booking. That being said we had a perfectly pleasant stay with minimal disturbance. Arrival was well coordinated and we were shown directly to our patch. Would stay again.

This being our first trip away I thought that you should have facilities in the camper van/ camping area. The pitches are a good size with EHU and water. Maybe have mobile shop visit if possible. On the whole a very relaxing 3 days. Barry and Pat

We found this campsite through Campsites.co.uk. It was easy to book online and the owners were very accommodating in allowing us to turn up after 6pm to check in. We were able to follow signposts for the site but almost missed the entrance as it is slightly concealed by a hedge on the right. We were met at the gate by a nice gentleman who showed us to our pitch (we booked an extra large grass pitch with fire pit and picnic bench) and he promptly brought round logs for the fire and also recommended a great Indian Takeaway who delivered to the gate - ideal for the first night when you're busy setting up. We had plenty of room for an awning and to tether our dog without encroaching on our neighbours. Where we were pitched there were no hedges or borders or external lighting along the pathways - there was more of a wild camping "meadowy" feel to it with ponds for fishing surrounded by long grass and lots of open spaces and walkways to exercise a dog. There are other hard standing pitches with hedges available as well as glamping pods with hot tubs. The toilets and showers were modern and clean as were the kitchen/washing up and laundry areas. Unfortunately there was no shop for little extras (not an issue for us but may be for others) and apparently Lidl wasn't too far a drive from the campsite. The books and games available to borrow were a nice touch and there was also a games room and spa facilities to book, but we didn't make use of these. We chose this site for value for money and found the prices very reasonable. Absolutely no complaints, would recommend.

This is a great rural location with nearby dog walks. Great for visits to coastal towns and beaches like Charmouth, Lyme Regis and West Bay. Also handy for countryside walks like the Symonsbury Estate and The Holloways. The only negative part for our visit was the insufficient shower and toilets. Often, there were queues and an early rise was the only way to guarantee a shower!
Site's response
Hi there, Many thanks for your review, we are sorry that this ruined your stay but on site we have 7 gent's showers and 7 women's showers as told to people on check in. There are two shower block's on site to help with influx of people during busy periods and we find this is more than most sites of our size with them also being of a high standard, but inevitably coming during in the busiest week of the year there are going to be queues at peak times of the day. Many thanks
