We found the no car approach revelatory… transporting gear by barrow was easy and the benefits of the campsite retaining its wildness, quietness and safety vastly outstripped the very minor inconvenience of not being able to park next to your tent.
All the pitches appeared to be secluded and were surrounded by tall grasses (with their inhabitants audible to those with acute hearing). The toilets and showers took a bit of adjustment at first but worked terrifically and they set the standard for responsible eco-friendly camping.
We also formed the impression that any problem would have been dealt with at the drop of a hat. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return!

Compared to traditional camping/touring parks, we are worlds apart and that is most certainly our intention. Campers come with all sorts of needs and expectations and we are lucky in the UK that there is a wide range of campsites to visit. Some with swimming pools and awning charges, some with Llamas to pet and others with just campfires and stars.
