About the site


This small, members only site is set across 11 acres of peaceful countryside and offers a relaxing, adults only escape. Anglers will enjoy the three well-stocked fishing lakes, home to carp, tench, barbel, chub, and more. Plus, there's an onsite bait shop! There are five pitches available, including three electric grass pitches (8m x 3m) with either a 10 amp or 16 amp electric hook up, and two pebble hardstanding pitches with electric hook ups. All pitches are suitable for caravans, campervans, and motorhomes. For those after a little extra comfort, there are also three self-catering holiday cottages onsite. When you're ready to explore, head to Cleethorpes Beach just 30 minutes away for a day by the sea, or enjoy a city trip to Hull, 35 minutes from the site. Dogs are welcome onsite! Sorry, BBQs and open fires are prohibited here.

There are toilets and showers. You will also find EV charging points, and there is WiFi available throughout the site.

Guests will also have access to fish in three fishing lakes, open from Thursday to Sunday between 8am to 6pm or dusk (except member holders). The lakes are well stocked and include carp (mirror, common, ghost, koi and crucian), tench, barbel, chubb, roach, rudd, perch and hide. There is also a small bait shop onsite.

Your nearest pub is the Thornton Hunt Inn, a five minute drive from the site. For those everyday shopping essentials, head to Co-op Food, also within a five minute drive.

We are passionate about both fishing and touring here at Butterswood Lakes, our owners have visited many places in their RV and now they have settled here in Goxhill they are hoping to make the site one of the best in North Lincolnshire!

*Check-in is from 2pm to 6pm. Please check out by 12pm.

*Please only use feed pellets purchased from the site.

*Maggots, prawns, worms, and cockles are allowed.

*Maximum hook size is ten.

No fixed feeders or leads, and a lower diameter hook length must be used at all times.

*No swimming or entering the water.

*No BBQs or fires.

*The site has zero tolerance to litter being left onsite, this includes cigarette buts. Please place all litter in a bag and take it home.

*For the peace of the site, please no radios.

*A maximum of one rod is to be used.

*Strictly no night fishing under any circumstances.

*Strictly no keep nets to be used on this site.

*Please do not leave your fishing equipment unattended.

*Children under the age of 18 must have an adult, (parent, grandparent etc) present at all times.

*All fish must be returned to the water as quickly as possible. Please take extra care with Barbels (request assistance if required).

*Please respect your fellow anglers. Anyone behaving unsportsmanlike will be asked to leave.


Things to do on site and in the Barton Upon Humber area

Grimsby is just a 25 minute drive away, where you'll find People's Park, the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre, and nearby Cleethorpes Pier Gardens and Boating Lake.

For some seaside fun, head to Cleethorpes (30 minutes) for sandy strolls, classic fish and chips, and watersports on the boating lake.

Normanby Hall is a 35 minute drive away and offers scenic walking trails, golf, and a Go Ape course. Or take in the natural beauty of the Lincolnshire Wolds National Landscape (35 minutes), with dog friendly walks, cycling trails and plenty of scenic viewpoints.

If you fancy a city day out, cross the Humber Bridge and explore Hull (35 minutes), home to the Streetlife Museum, The Deep aquarium, and historic old town streets.
