Great location and a lovely campsite, only a little sad that I was staying for 2 nights. Great little farm shop on site, super helpful staff and well maintained pitches with plenty of space. Hot showers, clean toilet block with laundry and pot wash facilities. Really nice pub with good meals just a couple of yards down the road.

Brilliant site, amazing for children/families but also for people without kids. The staff were all exceptionally lovely and put my partner and I away from the families in a quieter field with other couples (away from the playground), which was kind of them. There is a wonderful shop on site which stocks everything you need (we forgot a toothbrush and toothpaste) and it is all very reasonably priced (wonderful alcohol stock also). The location is perfect for Scafell Pike as it was a 15 min drive to Wasdale to start our ascent. The location is generally very scenic, but has a wonderful selection of nearby pubs and cafes some are an easy walk from the campsite or some are a short drive. The shower block and toilet facilities were great, they are cleaned daily and are in great condition. This also offers a laundry room and a large communal sink for dishes. The site was incredibly affordable at £22 per night (car was extra £3) and we hired a fire pit for two nights which was easily organised with the reception desk. During our stay we added on an extra night as we were having such a great time and this was easily accommodated by the staff. It didn't bother us in the slightest (enjoyed getting away from technology) but may be worth noting there is no Wi-Fi on site other than by the reception, but chairs and tables have been added undercover outside of the reception to allow people to use this comfortably, which is lovely. Downsides: a very bad smell around the sewer and bins section, so request a pitch away from this if possible. The bins were over capacity so hard to find space to dispose of rubbish, so may need emptying more frequently during busy periods. However, we stayed around the bank holiday so there may be a bin collection delay due to the time we stayed.

Great site with great facilities and location. Marra also very good value and service. Will definitely be back and would recommend. Only slight point of criticism was the smell from the camper van chemical toilet emptying point.
Nice cafe, lovely staff and a beautiful location

Stayed for a few nights and was very pleased with the facilities at the site: reception was also a shop and a cafe so you could get your morning coffee or some ice cream, or any campaign supplies you may have forgotten! Beautiful location within the mountains, lots of great walks and the other people on the campsite were also very pleasant. If you’re lucky you may spot a farm cat!

Ideal location for family camping with a bit of walking or a lot if you fancy it. Patchy phone signal - perfect! Or good Wi-Fi at the shop. Excellent showers.

Fantastic staff who helped us out with our enquiries, we were able to hire a fire pit and purchase logs etc. Toilets were mostly clean, although Sunday morning was very busy and lots of people had left items there but were not using facilities. There were stunning views.

This site is a perfect location for a walking getaway or just to relax in some gorgeous surroundings. The site is lovely and the staff are welcoming and friendly. The shop sells everything you need and more. The renting of a fire pit was a lovely touch. We ate pizzas from the visiting van and had a meal in the pub over the road. We had a great holiday. Our only slight grumble was that the only toilet block was by the entrance. Therefore it was quite a walk from the camping fields. The addition of some loos closer to the fields would make this site totally perfect.

Great stay, my friend and I chose Church Stile as it was only a 20 minute drive to the car park for Scafell Pike. Staff were pleasant and the facilities very good. The site implements quiet time between 11pm-7am and we had a great sleep. Only stayed the one night but wish it was longer, would recommend.

A well-laid out campsite, lots of thoughtful sectioning with trees and shrubs. Cannot fault the views, stunning. Our shepherd's hut was just perfect, well equipped, bedding provided. Loved the location on the edge of woods, the stable door allowed the views of the fells opposite in. Campsite is in a great location for the lake and Scafell, plus so many more amazing walks. Campsite shop equipped with essentials and staff very friendly. Wednesday evening pizza van was fab Only thing I might say is that the site could do with a second toilet block to accommodate such a large site.

First camping trip as a family of 4 and it was really lovely. The site is very well maintained with helpful staff. The kids loved the playground and the pizza van was a great addition. The toilets/showers were kept lovely and clean. We will definitely be back.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Some sites get really uptight about certain things but the team here ran to their rules book but in a sensible, approachable manner. We had a great weekend.

Bit of an adventurous road to get to the site, which I found very interesting - all the windy roads. The place was neat and well kept and staff were very helpful and courteous. The shop is well stocked and the bathrooms were kept clean. The only issue we had is because of the time of year that we went, it was quite noisy. Unfortunately that can't be helped as it is a popular place!

This camp was great handy pub just right of the entrance and not far from many walks or far from Scafell Park. One let down we had which had nothing to do with staff or location, but the rules state music can be played till 11pm and a group of walkers came to our gazebo and complained. The music wasn't even loud as it was on volume 5 and it was only 7.30pm it was a bit of a shame really as me and my partner were celebrating me being 2 years cancer free. There was also a tent pitched up near us who where celebrating a birthday with kids and they also got asked by the same people to turn there music off or down. It's the start of the summer holidays too so what do people expect. Also, there are camp sites for strictly walkers and no kids which would be more accommodating for people like that. There is also a park for children and a shop which sells food and any camping essentials you may have forgotten which is very handy. Overall we had a great time and will definitely be going back hopefully won't be any negativity next time!
A well presented site with handy shop

We enjoyed our stay at this site. It has everything you need and is a good location if you want to climb Scafell Pike. It would be great if there were more toilet facilities nearer to the camping fields.

This was our first ever visit to Church Stile, we spent the whole time out and about exploring. The camp site offers everything you need to enjoy some much needed time away. Hot showers, toilets, washing facilities for dirty laundry. We even rented a fire pit for roasting marshmallows! There is a hive of activity during the day, but at night it all dulls down so you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the Lake District. We'll be back!

Loved the site. Fantastic location with plenty to do in the surrounding area. One slight criticism is a group next to us were allowed to play quite loud music from early and remained noisy until late evening.
