Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2025 I'm tempted to give this place a bad review just so it doesn't get packed out for the holidays and they don't raise their reasonable prices.
Nice big grassy areas for tents and a car. Little park for kids. They have a little shop for some food items and coffee/wine. Clean toilets and showers.

Trailer Tent - Electric Grass Touring Pitches May 2025 Very clean tidy and well laid out pitches. Toilet very clean, showers are powerful and hot and thankfully you don't have to keep pushing them on, they're on constant. 100% recommend this site!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches May 2025 First time staying here with my 3 young children, and it was perfect for them, safe, open space for them to play in, facilities easily accessible and friendly staff. Was looking forward to a coffee, but understand the staffing was not available for this to be possible.

Pretty but
Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches May 2025 We had a good one night stay.
Our granddaughter loved the play area and space to fly a kite.
One toilet had no light - perhaps a bulb issue so was unusable. All needed toilet brushes. The washing up area had only cold water, so useless to wash anything fatty. I am not sure about hand basins. I did run them for a while. The café advertised was closed due to some personal issues but this could be amended.
Excellent fish and chip shop recommended at Seawick, through St Osyth village. No grey waste water disposal on site - necessary for a motorhome. Generous pitch sizes. Site was immaculate, well done.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2024 Great site. Good atmosphere, friendly welcome. Facilities spotless. TV and a hut where you can buy drinks.
There was a problem with our booking and we were not booked onto an electric pitch. It was not too bad for one night and we coped. Owner gave us a free breakfast as compensation.
We will return but will double check before we arrive that we have electric.
A really lovely campsite!
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2024 This campsite was made by the friendly welcome from the manager! We forgot our hammer and were clearly novices at setting up our new awning. He came over to check we were okay. There is also a really lovely atmosphere and had some nice chats with other guests over washing up. We didn't visit the café but it looked really nice. Would heartily recommend!
Kids enjoyed the playground also. Plenty of showers and toilets and they were pretty clean.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2024 I got a really good feeling when I arrived on site, it seemed relaxed, friendly and organised and that turned out to be true throughout our overnight stay. Owners and staff were friendly and welcoming, site was clean and well cared for. Nice ambience.
Location was quiet but convenient for the coast, however I gave 4 stars for location as sadly there is no pub within walking distance (although that's not the site's fault and there was beer on site).
I felt the site was good value for money and would recommend it if you are looking to visit Frinton (nice beaches), Clacton (good pier) or the surrounding area.

Trailer Tent - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2024 Our stay on the site was perfect. It was safe and secure. It wasn't too big or loud and has a play area for the little ones.
The male owner was very warm and welcoming, and loved telling the story of how the site came to be, along with why it is named 'The Pretty Thing'.
We will definitely stay again in the future.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2024 When we arrived, we discovered our tent had rotted in our garage (or chewed by mice - not sure). The hosts swiftly altered our booking to a glamping bell tent, which was lovely. Toilets & showers spotless, grass good quality and well mown and other guests quiet. The site was spacious and had a small café and swings for the kids etc. Short drive to Clacton or Frinton so location was great. Really enjoyed it. R & N.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Aug 2024 Lovely site, friendly staff, we had a campervan but the glamping pitch looked fab and fun. All facilities were clean and great hot showers. There is only cold water available to wash up - so we just boiled water to help with greasy items. We were close to facilities to limit danger travelling with hot water as I'm quite clumsy. I would stay again if visiting this area in the future.

Absolutely beautiful camp
Single Axle Caravan - Non Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2024 First time camping in our tourer and this was perfect.
We visited The Pretty Thing on a sunny weekend with a new born, a 10 year old and a 13 year old. The camp was spotless to start and Phil was super helpful, lent us a lead for the caravan too.
We all had a lovely time. It feels super safe and a home away from home vibe. Will definitely visit again and the family agree.

Amazing friendly and clean site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2024 An amazing, friendly, clean and welcoming site. As the name suggests, it is a beautiful place.
We arrived at the end of July 2024 and having booked for 4 days we liked it so much we stayed for 8.
Phil, Sharon so helpful and lots of regulars here, plus there was a great café!
We'll be back to this great site soon !!!
A fantastic night away
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Touring Pitches Jul 2024 A fantastic family overnight stay as a little surprise for my husband and our children. We had a wonderful time and wished we'd booked for longer. A very peaceful location, great for walking our dogs, friendly and very clean. A short drive away for fish and chips! We will definitely be staying with you again soon.
Lovely overnight stay
Bell Tent - Bell Tents (Dog Friendly) Jul 2024 We have just returned from a 1 night stay, we had a warm welcome, the campsite had all you could ask for, plus safe play area for our daughter.
The bell tent was really clean and well equipped. We all slept well, the bed was incredibly comfortable. Breakfast in the morning from George's was great too.

Bell Tent - Large Bell Tents Jun 2024 The site itself is lovely and safe for kids. The play area is sturdy and looked after.
The bell tent was very cosy and beds were comfortable with everything we needed for our stay.
The host was excellent, friendly, helpful, made us feel very welcome. The breakfast available at George's was just right and they make a lovely cuppa tea!
