Had a lovely couple of days here. Very friendly reception and information about the area. We cycled into York which was very easy. Clean toilets and showers and lovely flat pitch. Would definitely come again.

Single Axle Caravan - Hardstanding Grass Touring PitchesApr 2023

We really enjoyed our stay at Wagtail Park and Peter was friendly and helpful. The shower blocks were kept very clean. There's a lake if you enjoy fishing, or a 15 min drive to Monks Cross Shopping Centre, where you can catch the park and ride to York city centre.

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Grass Touring PitchesFeb 2023

Our first time staying here and we will definitely book in again this year. The site owner is lovely and extremely helpful. There is a very popular fishing park and lovely clean facilities. What I would say is the owners are kind enough to allow dogs, and we have 2 ourselves. There are plenty of bins to dispose of your dogs poo so if you are taking dogs, clean up after them! This is for the minority as the majority do! They are your responsibility and I didn't read in the terms and conditions of staying at this lovely site that the owner or other dogs walkers would do it for you! I clean up after my dogs so please clean up after yours, don't spoil it for other dog owners. Looking forward to returning πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘Œ

Motorhome - Hardstanding Grass Touring PitchesDec 2022

Good site. Friendly owner. Checked daily. Can go and fish for small daily fee. Would recommend taking bikes if in a motorhome. If you don't take your motorhome site seeing, there is a taxi firm available at a price as there isn't a pathway to walk on.

Very good park

Single Axle Caravan - Hardstanding Grass Touring PitchesDec 2022

The owner was very helpful. As most of the water pipes were frozen, he pointed out which ones use and so on. He also gave a hand with the hitch before we left. We had a nice spot by the fishing lake, not that any fishing was going on this time of year πŸ˜‚

Motorhome - Hardstanding Grass Touring PitchesDec 2022

This site is a 5 minute drive from Monks Cross shopping centre, the park and ride and a great choice when visiting the Christmas market. The gentleman who greeted us onto site was extremely friendly and very informative about the local area, and even provided us with a map of York city centre. We drove our 7.2metre (length) motorhome to the shopping centre and found it easy to park as there were plenty of spaces on a Friday afternoon. On Saturday, we drove to the park and ride, arriving around 9.15 and expected it to be packed, but it wasn't and we found a space backing onto a grass verge which we reversed into and over hung the grass at the rear. The park and ride was a bargain. We were told by the gentlemen who greeted us at Wagtail that the height barrier might be down, but it was open when we used it. The site was quiet when we were there and the toilet/shower blocks warm and clean. Would definitely book here again when visiting York.
