Lovely site, well situated and clean facilities. On site shop has all the bits you might have forgotten. Plenty of space and parking around the site.

I really enjoyed my stay at Sykeside. Beautiful surroundings. I was a little disappointed with the lack of recycling. If the owners would put bins for plastic, glass, organic and general waste all in the same place it would certainly help. People are generally lazy. If they have to go from A to B to sort their waste, they won't. In the big green bins around the site I saw all of the above, and half burnt wood, shopping baskets, tents! Apart from this, I had a lovely time.

Amazing location and unbelievable views. Only thing I’d say is there needs to be more parking as you will lose your space if you pop out for an hour or so. Also avoid busy times as some campers can be a bit inconsiderate of others with loud speakers etc.

I'm glad we chose to stay in the tent. We had all what we needed and we have paid a lot less than what we would've paid for any other accommodation.
Possibly the best campsite in the Lake District?

We arrived at Sykeside Campsite on a Friday evening in some of the best weather they'd apparently had in months. It was glorious sunshine and the sun was a beautiful site as it began to set behind the mountains around us. You're situated in the middle of wainwrights that surround you such as Hartsop Dodd, Stony Cove Pike, High Hartsop Dodd etc. with Brothers Water to the North. It's a site to behold and looks incredible at sunset and sunrise. The campsite staff were so helpful and really friendly. Helping us get checked in and set up. There were a few that walked around the site to help with anything if needed and were great craic. We went up Hartsop Dodd the next day, continuing onto Stony Cove Pike then down from St Ravens Edge before heading back up Red Screes and eventually down Middle Dodd back onto our campsite as we hugged it the full way round. It was a brilliant walk and we'll definitely be back to cover the rest of the Kirkstone and Dovedale circuit. We finished off in the Brothers Water Inn, located on the campsite. It's recommended you book prior if you want food. We had the most amazing Haddock and chips (great to see skin on!) and a handful of real ales. Which were much needed after the walk. There's a shop on site, showers, dishwasher area, great pub obviously and an even better location. Will definitely be back soon. Possibly one of the best campsites in the Lakes.

I stayed here with three friends during August and the campsite was pretty much perfect. The views were incredible and it had very good choice of spots to pitch our tent so we could face the scenery. Despite us going in the summer, we were still faced with a lot of rain. However, the campsite provided dryers which came in very handy. As for the other facilities, they were standard and relatively clean (what you'd expect from a campsite really). The location of the campsite is great as you are within reach of so many different country walks and little towns to visit. We travelled over to Buttermere one day (highly recommended!) which is just over an hour each way, and were still able to get back in time for dinner All in all, we had a great stay and enjoyed a wonderful meal to finish off the trip at the restaurant/inn nearby, they recommended booking a table so I would call ahead if you are looking to eat there on your first night.

Such an amazing campsite! The views every way you looked are breath-taking, and the facilities are super clean. Even the washing up/laundry room, you can tell it all gets cleaned daily. Will definitely be coming back for longer next time.

Great overall, just toilets a bit too far from far end corner.

Beautiful location, friendly and very helpful staff. Ground in some areas can be very soft if there's a lot of rain but we didn't flood. Showers always hot, shop handy. Would stay again!

If you want to feel like you're back in school, this is the place for you. The wardens felt confrontational and condescending. Despite our payment ticket being clearly displayed on our tent, they still demanded proof of payment. They also started enforcing quiet hours at 10:50pm, even though quiet time doesn't begin until 11. The campsite itself is poorly maintained. The ground is littered with rocks, making it nearly impossible to secure tent pegs or set up windbreakers. The centre of the camp was flooded during our stay, adding to the discomfort. Parking near the tents is extremely limited, and when we attempted to unload our car on the grass in the rain, the wardens reacted as if we had committed a serious offense. Additionally, the girls' toilets and showers are closed for 90 minutes during the morning, right when most people are getting ready for the day. The solution offered? To use the men's facilities, which I feel is far from acceptable. Overall, the combination of unhelpful staff and poor site conditions made for a very disappointing experience.

It was a pleasure to spend 2 nights at this amazing location, with stunning views and plenty of space for children to play. The staff were always polite and helpful! The toilets and showers were cleaned regularly, a very clean area for washing dishes etc. Ideal for people who would like to chill in beautiful scenery or for the more active, plenty of walks in surrounding area.
Beautiful site, plenty space relaxed and good facilities.

Beautiful picturesque camp site, ideally located. Reception staff lovely, helpful and knowledgeably. Small but well stocked shop with breakfast butties and fresh coffee. We stayed beginning of August, the campsite was busy, the facilities reflected this and the bins were overflowing the whole stay (4 days). However, the site itself never felt anything other than peaceful. Bins aside, I was so pleased with the campsite it is with reluctance I mention the Brotherswater Inn, the food is a hard pass! The staff were neither friendly or helpful and the food was overpriced and of a very poor standard. Despite the Inn, I would recommend the campsite itself.

A good campsite with lots of places to pitch your tent and park your car. Facilities were clean enough, lots of hot water in the showers. Staff friendly enough. They have a strong "don't want lots of adults booking together" which made for a peaceful campsite which suited me. Some great walks from the campsite but equally able to drive to different ones easily enough.

A beautiful site with lovely views surrounding. It is a very quiet site which was lovely to relax after a day of exploring. We were first greeted by two lovely staff who checked us in, very friendly and helpful. Only niggles would be the postcode took us to another area and the showers weren't great. Would definitely return!

It was a very good stay. Views phenomenal. The on-site shop had everything you could need and the staff were helpful. The pub attached did good food but you must call to book asap in as it sells out. We shall return to tick off some more wainwrights.
Perfect!

This was the first time I've taken my children camping so can't compare with other sites. We found the staff friendly, plenty of space even though a very busy time of year and excellent weather, and the toilets/showers were kept pretty clean, especially considering how many people were there! We didn't use the shop/laundry/pot washing but the pub at the top of the hill was a great addition. Thank you.

The site was in an amazing location, so scenic and picturesque. The size of the site is only small, so if you are looking for something quaint, then it's perfect. However, the pitches aren't numbered. This meant that (for us) a tent pitched about 1 meter away from ours which wasn't ideal, but also didn't completely ruin our experience. The toilets were standard and it was nice that the pub was only a 2 minute walk away! I would definitely recommend and return at some point :)

The site is very easy to get to and all the staff are very friendly. The toilets, showers are very clean and big, as well as the wash rooms. There is a pub just at the entrance of the campsite, which is a 2 min walk, no more. If you want food at the pub I would book ASAP (i.e. the day you get there, as when we wanted to book a table, it was booked up till after our visit).
A fantastic stay!

I booked a last minute stay and the process was so smooth from start to finish! I received a courtesy call confirming my booking with details on how to check in etc. On arrival the person checking me in gave me lots of of helpful guidance on where to eat (the pub was sadly fully booked) and how to get there, as well as guidance on the campsite and its facilities. The shop was a brilliant addition and the toilets/showers were in brilliant condition. The campsite is in such a lovely location and the scenery was stunning to wake up to! I thoroughly enjoyed my night here and will definitely be back!

Despite gale force winds for two nights, we loved it here and tried to book an extra night but they were fully booked. Such a beautiful setting surrounded by mountains. Very useful camp shop, easy access walks and pub onsite. Warm toilets, showers, washing machines, dryers and the best washing up room I've ever seen. Low areas can flood (were were warned about this by friendly lady on reception) so choose your spot carefully depending on the weather forecast.

Lovely stay at this campsite. Facilities were clean, close and well maintained. Little shop with various bits and plenty of space for parking on the campsite. Very easy to find and close to Glenridding. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great location, easy access to all parts of the Lake District. Probably could have done with a couple more water taps around the site.
