Myself and my partner stayed for one night. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. We stayed in our recently bought camper and the pitches were spacious and beautiful. We would definitely stay here again and are very excited to do so. Thanks for having us!

It was our pleasure. Thank you for staying. John

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

Great base for visiting the south and west of Pembrokeshire. If you're after a peaceful and clean site to either stay and just enjoy the tranquillity, or to use as a base for exploring the delights of the south and west Pembrokeshire area, then the site is great. Clean, nicely laid out, with large pitches. Just the one shower available - but it's a great shower - and the 50p it costs gives you 15 mins of really good, high pressure showering 👌. Similarly, only the one toilet that we could see - but again a very clean and decent facility. We thought it was great value at £22 per night (2 adults and a dog). Would definitely use again - our thanks to the owners. We really loved it.

Site's response

Thank you glad you enjoyed our shower, look forward to you future visit. John

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

First time camping, so wasn't sure what to expect. Could not have picked a nicer campsite. It was relaxing, quiet and spacious. John and his wife (sorry didn't get her name) were lovely and showed us round the site. The campsite was spotless. The only downside was 1 shower for the site, but it was clean and we had no issues with having to queue etc. The site allows dogs. Will definitely be going back.

Site's response

Look forward to seeing you guys soon. John

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

Beautiful site with vineyard and own produce wine. Very friendly and good humoured owners. Helpful and pleasant. Fabulous location close to beautiful Saundersfoot, Tenby, Manorbier and Barafundle bay. Only issue was showers....only 2 onsite that were very hot and you can't reduce temperature, which means you come out as sweaty as you went in. Have to pay at least 50p per shower I needed 2 x 50s to finish rinsing hair. Will definitely go back, great pitch size.

Site's response

glad you enjoyed your stay, there is only one shower at present which is 50p for 15 minuets and the temperature control is on the right hand side. Look forward to seeing you again. John

Beautiful location, grounds tidy & well cared for. Flowers, fruit trees & well-manicured lawns. Generous pitches, private. Hosts were John & Jill & were lovely people who were kind, helpful and generous. We had a lovely meal & local ale. Would highly recommend for peace & quiet to get away from it all.

Site's response

Thank you, we both enjoyed having you stay with us, look forward to seeing you soon. John.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2022

The park is set in stunning and peaceful countryside. Very little traffic noise. The facilities were immaculately clean at all times, they need more showers, but I understand this is already planned. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a cuppa outside the restaurant and had the most amazing views. Can't recommend enough and look forward to visiting again

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2022

Oaklea is a lovely, immaculate, quiet site. Just what my hubby and I wanted. It is in the beautiful area of Martletwy. You are met by the owner who shows you around and is very friendly. There is a lovely restaurant on site, but unfortunately this closed at 5:00 pm. We thought this was strange as most visitors would be out and about during the day, and to have the convenience of a restaurant on site on the return would be a bonus. However, we were fortunate enough to have a meal on Friday, as it stayed open past 5:00 to accommodate some people who had booked but were not staying on the site. The menu is excellent, and the food is very, very good! We finished with cheese and biscuits and sampled the wine tasting tray. Very enjoyable in a beautiful setting. The owners have only been there a few months, so maybe it's a case of finding their feet and sussing out the way forward. The restaurant could be rented out maybe, as I believe with the right advertising and promotions centred around the wine tasting and cheeses, it could be very successful. I understood the owner's intention is to concentrate on his fruit growing, so I understand managing the restaurant too could be a juggling game. I spoke to another couple who didn't understand why the restaurant wasn't open after 5:00 pm either. They arrived after 5:00 and were looking forward to a nice on-site meal. Sadly, this wasn't possible. We found The Snooty Fox down the road for a nice meal. However, for anyone visiting with a dog, you are not permitted inside the main building of the pub, and if the weather is off, then you are sent to the outside 'den'. We had a lovely stay, and to reiterate, the site grounds are immaculate and all other amenities are equally as clean. If you are looking for a pleasant, quiet, and idyllic setting, then this site will suit you.

Site's response

Thanks for you comments, it states on our website that the restaurant is open from 10am to 5pm and customers are told if they wish to book for an evening meal we will be happy to cater for that. I do believe that we were open on the night in question as the people who were in the restaurant when you came, had booked a table for that evening. Unfortunately, we have no intentions of juggling the restaurant. John.

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Grass PitchesJul 2022

Oaklea is a hidden gem! Just spent 13 nights there in a twin axle caravan and I can honestly say it was one of the best places we've stayed at. The grass pitches (electric hook up) are huge so you can have your unit facing wherever you like and still have so much space around you. As there are only 6 pitches it is very peaceful - even when the site was full you had so much space between you that you weren't bothered by your neighbours. The facilities are very clean and the addition of a further shower block will only enhance what is already an amazing place. John and Jill couldn't be more helpful - extremely friendly, chatty and the plans they have for the site are only going to improve this wonderful place. Wine tasting is a great idea and it's good that you can buy the wine together with chutneys and preserves. We had amazing weather but it did rain very heavily for 2 days however the pitches drained really well and were not water logged at all. It's a perfect place to go to relax and the surrounding area is lovely. We will definitely be back next year and hoping to stay for 3 weeks - fingers crossed!

Site's response

It was great to have you stay, and you're right we are making improvements to the whole site. Still keeping it personal, look forward to seeing you both with your well behaved dogs soon. John

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2022

Location- nice rural village setting amongst 40+ acres and vineyards. Very tidy and well laid out. Close to nearby towns like Tenby, Pembroke Dock, Fishguard and Saundersfoot with lovely beaches and scenic coastal walks. Value for money - Excellent Standard of service - John and Jill were great hosts, very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. I was lent a frying pan, given ice cubes and toasted your bread! Very personable couple. Facilities - we pretty much had the camping field to ourselves. It was very peaceful, all we could hear were the sheep, cockerel and birds- it was idyllic. The only thing is there is only 1 shower, this was fine for our stay as the campsite wasn't busy, but could get a little annoying peak season. Also, you have to pay 50p for a shower, for 15 mins. There is a nice restaurant onsite, but only open 10-5pm. I would have preferred it to open slightly earlier for coffee and stay open later, as the menu looked very enticing. There is a washing facility, rubbish area and 2 x microwaves. Maybe a fridge could be placed there for cooling ice elements/food etc and maybe a kettle. Cleanliness - The place is immaculate, shower, toilet and communal areas clean and the grounds are very well kept with lots of flowers and the vineyards you can walk around. We had a great long weekend, thank you John & Jill for letting us stay at Oaklea. We will return!

Site's response

Great, hope to see you again. John.

A quiet, secluded site with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. From the moment we arrived, we were made so welcome by the owners John and Jill. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant, we enjoyed the wine tasting and totally recommend the wines on offer. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and the site is kept immaculately clean. The grass pitches for the Motorhomes are very large and individually separated by laurel bushes, but each has access to the magnificent views and glorious sunsets. We had such a great time that we have no reservations in recommending this site to our family and friends and will certainly be back in the future. Thank you John and Jill for making it such a pleasant stay. Regards Richard and Chris

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJul 2022

Lovely quiet site. Big pitches, so plenty of room to spread out. Friendly, kind, obliging owners who couldn't do enough to help. Even though it seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, many places of interest were within close proximity. Cafe/restaurant served a variety of meals at reasonable prices. Wine tasting with cheese board is a must!

Thank you, hope to see you again soon. John

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2022

What a lovely place. We received the warmest of welcomes and were shown to our pitch and around the facilities. The pitches are large and flat, also very quiet. As a vineyard we were treated to a sample of their mead, which was so good we bought some, along with a loaf of Bara Brith. This is definitely a hidden gem, but don't tell the world or there won't be room for us next time!

Site's response

Thanks guys, Jill said your sat nav liked it here too as it returned you back here instead of St David's. Best John

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2022

We were touring South Wales and needed a site in the Narberth area. Oaklea was easy to find even though it was quite remote. John, the owner gave us a wonderful welcome and even opened up a new field so that we could be nearer to our son who was in a lodge. He also helped us pitch and told us about the site. The site has a great bar / restaurant area and we used both and really enjoyed our evening meal cooked by John and his wife. I have seen much bigger campsites with far less impressive facilities - so if you visit be sure to try everything out. As former wardens we know a good site when we see one and this is certainly one of the best we have stayed on. We also enjoyed a beer around the fire pit with everything you need provided by John. We enjoyed a number of good conversations and John, as a relatively new owner, is rightly keen to distance himself from previous reviews written under the former owners. Only reviews on this site are current. Well done guys- we will certainly be back.

Site's response

Hi guys it was a pleasure to meet you all, thank you for your kind comments. John
