Perfect choice for family camping

This was ours first time camping, everyone so excited. The site is nice and clean, the staff was helpful and friendly. There are lots things to do and you can find everything you require.

Great Site

Staff exceptional in every aspect. Site is clean and friendly apart from loose dog owners not doing the right thing. Would fully recommend to anyone.

Excellent site, but our stay was ruined by other guests

Very impressed when we arrived, great check in, lovely campsite, very large pitches, great pool. The grounds are beautiful - whoever is in charge of gardening and flowers deserves a raise! Toilets and showers cleaned so well - again - your cleaners need a raise. Spotless when we were using them. What spoiled our stay was other guests on the campsite. It was obvious there were groups who had no respect to your campsite or to other guests. Loud arguing, excessive drinking, vomiting, made us feel like we could not be in the communal areas from night one as it didn't feel safe. The campsite on Sunday morning was clearly a mess from these 'guests' but I suspect some may have been unauthorised and just coming in to use the facilities and cause trouble. My children and wife no longer wanted to be in the social areas after night 1 so we felt like we were limited in what we could do within the park. My children were upset due to swearing from others towards us, and the uncomfortable heavy drinking and unsociable behaviour environment created by these people. I did appreciate seeing security on the main road the next day checking all entries which I again suspect was due to problems caused by these guests. We were really excited to be at Monkey Tree Holiday Park, was just a shame that we couldn't enjoy the experience due to abuse from other guests and the anti-social behaviour we had to endure.

Amazing site and fantastic stay

I was a little dubious about this place, having read some of the recent, not so positive reviews, but this place was truly amazing and exceeded our expectations. The facilities are excellent, the staff are super friendly and there is just such a good holiday vibe here. We felt safe the whole time (single parent to a 5 year old), even when we had a slight issue with some other guests, security dealt with it immediately and anonymously. Every time we used the bathrooms there was someone in there cleaning them. What really sells this place though is the pool and the kids entertainment. Both are the best we have ever experienced, and we have been to a few. We have already booked for next year! Thank you for a great holiday!

We had an amazing time. And will definitely come back. There are so many great things to keep your children entertained. If block has toilets and showers. Kept clean.

Best campsite I’ve visited

I go camping on a regular basis and must say this campsite was the best. It’s got absolutely everything you could possibly need for a child friendly campsite which also keeps adults occupied. The site was spotless and the shower/toilet blocks were close by and always free. If you are looking for a campsite in Cornwall this is the one!

Good.place to stay on

Very good place, even if you use it like sleeping place for day trips around the coast, or like a holiday spot. A lot of events during the day and over evenings for kids and adults. Very nice swimming pool facilities. A lot of spaces are surrounded by trees and bushes which give you a shade from the sun. Overall, very good place for holiday.

Family of 4

Loved it, everything was lovely. Such a shame though that some people weren't flushing the toilets after doing a number 2.

Visit

Stayed here, mini golf course is not included in price, site food is very expensive and the toilet shower block where our pitch was close to was very run down and old. It was an ok experience but wouldn't return.

Brilliant stay

We loved our stay at monkey tree and are looking to book next year. The site is so clean throughout and anything needed staff are happy to help. Monkey tree had loads for kids to do, which meant that when we had days in the site our 6 year old was still busy having fun. Monkey tree is a short driving distance to lots of different locations and shops.

First time visit to Cornwall. Defo come back. Was amazing place to stay at 😃.

Great family friendly site

A budget friendly break away where the staff were fantastic, facilities were great and the swimming pool was a nice touch. The only downsides were the cleanliness of shower blocks and the fact we had things stolen from the swimming pool area. I will say, the security team did all they could to try and remedy the situation. Overall, we would recommend and would consider returning to the site.

Our last (and first in Cornwall) camping trip of the year!

We had an extremely enjoyable holiday at your lovely campsite! The only comments I'd make are that some food items weren't available in the beach bar one evening and the menu was already quite limited. Also, T-shirts hadn't been ordered for the art activities, which my children were disappointed about. My wife also encountered a problem with the candyfloss machine in the arcade. The female member of staff wasn't particularly helpful when it wasn't working, but do understand that the machine isn't your property. We'd definitely come back though as everything else was perfect!

Weekend away

This campsite was lovely, the staff at reception were nice, especially Sophie. The staff at the pool area weren't, especially the manager. I tried to book straightaway online as there are unlimited slots for the pool. The online service wouldn't let me book a slot, so I emailed them as the reception wasn't open, no answer. So I went down and spoke to the manager of the pool as soon as it was open. The manager said that there is nothing for 4 days. Which was very disappointing, as we were only there for 3 days. I went to reception and they managed to get us in, 2 days later. You're not allowed big inflatables, we had a medium size one, walked in with it and the man on reception of the pool said it was fine. We had at least 4 different lifeguards come up to us and tell us we weren't allowed it. I explained that the man on reception of the pool said it was fine. In the end, the Head lifeguard told me I didn't walk past him in the pool reception, I told him, he was talking to someone at the time and didn't see me walk in. So in the end, I just took the inflatable out of the pool because of the hassle it was causing and it wasn't worth it, as we were trying to enjoy. The pool itself was nice and lukewarm. The food in the establishment was poor. A burger was just bread and the meat, and half of the stuff that you paid for with the meal didn't come with it as they ran out. I did have a refund but it would take a few days to get back into my account. The chips were always undercooked. We had breakfast on the Monday and we had to wait an hour. They told us after we paid that it would be half an hour wait, which I didn't want to wait. However, if I had asked for a refund, I would have had to wait 3 days for it to return to my account, and I wouldn't have been able to go somewhere else as that was the last of my money, so we didn't have a choice. It didn't seem that busy at all so unsure why it took so long. The entertainment area didn't have enough tables and chairs for people to sit down and watch the show. No cash machines, only at reception, which closes at 7pm. Need cash for the arcade. The pitch area was very good, not far from the shower blocks, which was always very clean and staff there were friendly. It was 10 minutes from town which was lovely and lots of food options there too.

Family holiday

We were very impressed with the spacious pitch sizes, plenty of room and the site was regularly maintained. The cleaning ladies were amazing in the shower block and it was a continuous task.

Great family stay

Really big, spacious site. Pitches are very generously sized. Great for the whole family with park, arcade, outdoor kids entertainment and a disco area. Lots of toilet and shower facilities across the campsite, our pitch was ideally right by a toilet and shower and they were kept clean periodically throughout the day. Only downfall was the swimming pool facilities, only allowed 2 bookings for a 5 nights stay, bookings were all gone on our stay except at 9am starts, which is a bit early for our family, then having to chance it for the rest of the week with walk ins. We however have an autistic child, so queuing up and having to wait for walk ins is not ideal for us, and can be quite distressing for her, so means we did not get to access the pool on our 5 nights stay.

Great stay, could have stopped another week

A great site. The toilets and showers near us could have been better, but we saw others round site that were newer, so I guess they're going through to update them.

Not very happy with the site

There were people in the family outside bar area who were drunk. The bouncer spoke to them but they just laughed at him and he walked off. Very dirty and sticky in bars. The shared toilet were a mess and a larger can was in the the toilet for 6 days and was never removed. Loud music from caravans having a party at 1 in the morning, campfires going when we were told that they are not allowed. Not a relaxing break, so left two days early.

Good but expensive

This is a nice park set in a scenic location. Pitches are a good size, and there is plenty of hedging which adds privacy and shelter from the wind. The toilet blocks were regularly cleaned and in good condition. The park is well maintained overall and staff are friendly. However, it was very disappointing that despite the top end fees (I paid £350 to pitch a tent for just three nights), almost everything but the pool required significant additional payments. The (unsurprisingly empty) crazy golf was £7.50 a head.
