Beautiful views
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 We’ve just come back from a lovely stay in hope cove. The site has the most beautiful ocean views and little light pollution so some great sunsets and starry nights. Off grid but was nice to disconnect a bit and embrace a more eco way of camping. The compost loos were kept clean and my toddler managed to use them well with his seat placed on top. He also loved doing the scoop of sawdust after! The honesty shop is great and has pretty much all you’d need if you had forgotten something or need a cool drink or snack. The only bit of constructive feedback I’d give is it lacked in a couple sinks for hand/face washing/toothbrushing and only had one sink for washing up so there was often a queue. Overall a great stay, fab location with everything in walking distance and just a lovely chilled vibe. We will definitely be back next summer!
A relaxing stay
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 A wonderful stay. Well maintained facilities and everything we needed as a family. Pitch space could have been clearer as we were unsure if pitches were between two number posts or behind a number post and different campers interpreted this in differing ways but we worked it out with the people camping next to us. Amazing location, sunsets and star gazing. Very peaceful and chilled atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and return.

The views were amazing and the sunset sublime.
The compost toilets are interesting but you soon get used to them.

Almost perfect
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Amazing views and great value for money, but, the showers are not level, making them quite slippery, so it's easy to slip and injure yourself.
Also, some of the camping pitches are on a steep slope. If you don't arrive early enough to choose a suitable pitch, you may end up sleeping with your head or feet significantly downhill, which isn't very comfortable.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 What a lovely spot. It was perfect for a leisurely bimble into Hope Cove, or simply sitting by the van watching the most incredible sunsets.
The walk down to Outer Hope with the paddleboard was definitely worth tackling the hill. The campsite is in an excellent location, with simple but well-maintained facilities that had everything we needed, along with those thoughtful little touches that made our stay even more enjoyable.
We’d happily return.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Such a lovely campsite, a short walk from lovely beaches, restaurants and pubs! A real gem and we cannot wait to return. I felt so relaxed here and the site was so peaceful. The campsite has stunning coastal and countryside views and while we were there the most amazing sunsets! We watched the seals and paddle boarders and the changing skylines which were incredible. The owners were very attentive and helpful. The compost toilets and showers were spotless! Such a positive campsite experience.

An enjoyable return visit
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 This site is so good!! Spectacular location with amazing views. Get there early to be able to grab a great spot. Although the view is available for most of the site. For the price you pay, this campsite is an absolute bargain! The showers are lovely and clean and very spacious. The owners are friendly and constantly maintain the standards of the site.
Returning again this year was a fantastic decision and we can't wait to come back again.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 We had a brilliant week at Cove Camping. We were lucky enough to get pitch 1 and had an uninterrupted view across the sea and amazing sunsets.
The facilities are exactly as advertised - warm showers, warm washing up water and clean compost toilets. Alice was super responsive too when the hot water went down briefly, she came to fix the pilot light within 5 mins of letting her know. Would highly recommend!

Aug 2025 What a campsite, 100% clean, tidy eco friendly, Alice and Rich worked hard to put this together. I did meet Rich in person, and he has a great passion for his site
Well done to you both, location 5 minutes walk to Hope Cove, couple of good food pubs, lovely beach, we'll be back, thanks for the stay and tent box was good, Rich cheers to you both, see you next year 🤣👍

Wouldn't want to spend a night there when there's a strong South-westerly wind blowing as very exposed.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 If you're looking for a simple, earthy camping experience without lots of faff and order, this is the place.
Reminded me of camping as a child in a field with no facilities or hookups (although the compost loos are great) overlooking the South Devon coast. Local beaches and facilites are great but I almost don't want to rave too much more as this felt like finding a secret spot.
Hope the owners keep this just as it is and don't get tempted for more commercial success as it's rustic charm has us planning a return soon.

It's a beautiful place. They had wood, brownies, teabags for sale. Alice was friendly and was making sure the facilities were up together in the morning.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Amazing view! Can't really rate facilities as just a couple of loos, showers (had 2 cold ones) and sink. Would be good to have a structure that you could sit in when really wet/windy etc.
Also, no campsites provide but in school holiday, offer a service to put up/down tents. £20 for 30 minutes for poor, helpless, solo campers :-)
Drive up in morning with bread etc.

Jul 2025 It was simply the best as it was a stunning location with a five minute walk to a beautiful sandy beach.
