Steam and Stars is a quiet site located next to a heritage steam train line in Somerset, 20 minutes from Exmoor National Park and 15 minutes from Blue Anchor beach. Guests can choose from a glamping pod or a fully contained shepherd's hut with a wood fired hot tub year round and pop up non electric grass pitches in the summer months. There is also an offer to book exclusive use of the whole site for groups up to eight.

About the site
This small friendly site enjoys a great base for exploring the coast of Somerset, with Blue Anchor and Kilve beaches just 20 minutes away. Explore Exmoor National Park, a 20 minute drive and Quantock Hills AONB, a 10 minute drive away, with fantastic cycle paths, hikes and stunning views. The site offers the shepherd's hut, glamping pod and cabin facilities alongside the pop up camping pitches (only available when booking for exclusive use of the whole site). This space, set over three quarters of an acre, provides the perfect setting for couples, small groups and families to enjoy time together. The shepherd's hut is a self contained unit with a dining area that converts into a double bed and a private bathroom that has a shower, sink and toilet. The kitchenette includes a sink, fridge, toaster, two ring induction hob, a log burner and separate heating. There is a rustic wood fired hot tub situated next to the shepherd's hut, along with outdoor seating and bbq/fire pit. If you're looking for a quirky, no fuss stay, then the wooden glamping pod is ideal. Sleeping two, with the small seating area converting into a further single bed. Kitchen and bathroom facilities are provided in a separate cabin building to the pod. Enjoy the wood fired hot tub, outdoor seating and bbq/fire pit. The shared facilities housed in the cabin has a toilet and shower room, a separate toilet, a clothes drying space and a small kitchen with a sink, fridge, small freezer, kettle, toaster and a microwave. Between the beginning of July and the end of August, the site offers pop up camping for larger group bookings, available when booking the whole site for exclusive use alongside the glamping accommodation. The paddock (non electric) can accommodate one or two campervans and two or three tents depending on the group's size. Bedding is included when booking the shepherd's hut and pod individually. Bedding will not be provided when booking the site for exclusive use. Dogs are welcome to join you in your stay. No extra charge for dogs. Lovely field space for your dog's enjoyment. There are two fire pits and BBQs are allowed but must be raised off the ground.
The camping pitches are a pop up extra to the year round glamping and only available when booking the whole site for exclusive use. We offer year round glamping in the shepherd's hut and glamping pod, with exclusive use camping open from 3rd July to 1st September 2026 only.
