Great site to visit
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 We really enjoyed staying at mendip Basecamp. Setting up camp was a bit tricky, as pegs couldn't go through all the way as there was rocks underground, but we managed it. Facilities, on ground shop is fantastic, well deserved ice creams after being in the heat, toilets and washing stations great, nice suprise that showers are free to use, although I think shower heads could do with an upgrade and to have choice of hot and cold, we came back from a 2 hour canoe activity and would have preferred a cold shower rather than a warm/hot shower. In all, we had a fantastic time

Lovely stay
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 We absolutely loved our stay at mendip base camp. We stayed one night as we live nearby and knew the weather was going to be amazing. Bit of a festival vibe in the evening, great sandpit for the kids, felt nice and safe for the kids. Really excellent clean facilities, will definitely be coming back. Did the tobogganing in the morning which was fun. Really good shop and the pizzas were delicious. Staff were all friendly and helpful

Never again Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Shower blocks filthy, outdated, needs renewing. Tried to buy some milk, had none, didn't know when next delivery was. Said I could buy a cup for 80 pence a cup!
No sausages, bacon, bread, nothing. Very, very rocky, unless you have proper rock pegs, forget it. Another camper smoking, I asked him to go somewhere else, don't want that round my granddaughter.
Would not recommend this site at all. All rolls and pizzas hugely overpriced!

Amazing
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 First time going camping, my little girl loved it for her first time!
Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Especially liked that you could choose almost anywhere to set up camp.
Facilities were very clean and well kept. Plenty of water points and toilets. Showers were good too.
Location was good. In the middle of Weston-super-Mare and Bristol which were both around a 30 minute drive away.
Overall a great experience and will hopefully return in the near future 🤌😃

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 Just back from an amazing weekend at Basecamp with a group of 9 of us and we can't recommend it enough! ⛺️
The site was spotless, the team were so friendly and helpful, and the onsite facilities were a huge bonus - everything we needed was right there. It made camping feel easy and comfortable, even with a big group!
We had such a great time and will definitely return in the summer!
