About the site

This riverside camping and glamping site is less than half an hour from Carlisle, but the true attraction comes from the surrounding nature. You can enjoy a refreshing wild swim in the River Eden, but if you'd rather stay dry, the Lake District National Park is home to many stunning walks. Only ten non electric camping pitches are set in the farm's beautiful meadow, just a few yards from the river with plenty of space for the kids to play! These pitches welcome tents and small campervans, and each comes with your own fire pit for the evening campfire. There are also further non electric grass pitches in the Barn Field with views over the valley. These pitches for tents, roof tents and small campervans are based on the barn side of the site and still close to the river. All of the non electric grass pitches allow up to four people and have access to eco-friendly facilities nearby. For those looking to leave the tent pegs at home, there are six cosy unfurnished bell tents equipped with a double air mattress and space for two additional beds. The bell tents also have access to a wood-fired sauna on the Barn Field, plus access to shared facilities. Please remember to bring extra beds, bedding, and towels. These accommodate up to four people, but sorry, dogs are not allowed. There are also a feast of quirky glamping options onsite, ranging from beautifully furnished glamping cabins to authentic gypsy caravans. These all sleep three to four people, have fully equipped indoor and outdoor kitchens, a private compost loo and hot shower and private wood-fired hot tubs. Well behaved dogs are welcome on all pitches and accommodation, except the bell tents.

Drybeck Farm is open from 27/03 to 05/11 in 2026 and from 01/04 to 31/10 in 2027. Pitches from £17.50-£27.50/night for 2 people (depending on dates). Glamping from £50-£155/night for 2 people (depending on dates).

Small Tent - Riverside - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2026

I loved it here. I had a tent pitch next to the river just for one night on my way down south, so I didn't stay long but wish I could have. Glamping looked great to stay in. River was beautiful - had a quick swim before leaving. Compost toilets and warm shower, plus washing up sink with warm water.

Great stay

A note from the site themselves...

Set in the peaceful Eden Valley, our riverside meadow offers a simple camping experience surrounded by nature. We've created a place where guests can slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and take time to reconnect with the natural world.

Our campsite has no designated pitches, allowing you the freedom to choose your own space and enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings. From wildflowers and open countryside to the gentle flow of the River Eden, it's a place to relax, unwind, and enjoy a slower pace of life.

The area is also home to a wonderful variety of wildlife. During your stay, you may spot red squirrels, barn owls, otters, hedgehogs, or even ospreys, and our wildlife cameras offer a glimpse into some of the creatures that call this special place home.

We hope you enjoy your time at Drybeck Farm!
