Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

Very nice site but needs pitches for disabled reserved as I’m disabled in a few ways and was quite a distance from the toilets which wasn’t ideal at 3am but we dealt with it and that was the only thing I didn’t like about the site.

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

The location is fantastic, especially if you're planning to visit Cheddar Gorge. The facilities were decent - the toilets, showers, and dishwashing areas were clean and functional. Great to have a bar and restaurant on site with live entertainment. The site itself is quite small, so you were very close to other tents. When a group of lads were playing football, the ball frequently hit our tent and others nearby, causing annoyance and some disruption with young kids bed times - appreciate this is on the parents to watch out for though. However, we did encounter an issue upon booking. We reserved four pitches but received an email the next day advising that the site doesn't accept group bookings. During the booking process, we had noticed the message, "The site does not accept large or single-sex groups of 4+ people unless by prior arrangement," but it wasn't clear whether the restriction applied to all groups of four or more, or only to single-sex groups. The term 'large group' felt subjective. Thankfully, the site honoured our booking with the condition that we were respectful and kept noise to a minimum, which we appreciated. However, clearer messaging during the booking process would have avoided this confusion and the unpleasant interaction that followed.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

The Bucklegrove site is ideal for families with a park for children of all ages to play and make new friends. The restaurant / bar was very welcoming and the evening entertainment and activities were fun for all. The menu though is a bit limited especially for children. The grass pitch we were on was good with plenty of space between tents although the late night noise rule could have been better policed. Friday night in particular was still noisy at midnight. General facilities were good and the camp shop well stocked and the staff throughout the site were very friendly and helpful. Ladies toilets and showers were clean but could do with smartening up. We enjoyed the pool - a luxury to have it all to ourselves. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our trip to Wookey Hole just up the road - and a generous discount on the price by staying at Bucklegrove. Just a suggestion, better road signage to warn of your entrance coming from Wells. We hope to visit again.

Great family campsite very close to Cheddar

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

This campsite is very convenient for both Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge. It is well laid out, it has a swimming pool and a very good pretty inexpensive restaurant. The showers are hot and the water supply is plentiful. It is quite expensive though if you only stay for one night and do not use the other facilities at 40 pounds a night.

Nice spot to break up a journey

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

We broke up our journey to Devon with a 2 night stay at Bucklegrove Caravan Park in our VW campervan. Our pitch was a hard standing in the top field area with other campervans, motorhomes, tents and long term tourers. The EHU point was in a bit of an inconvenient place at the far side of the pitch next to ours and not placed equally between the two, or even at the nearer side of the neighbouring pitch, which could have been a bit of a health and safety trip hazard. Our pitch was right next to the shower and toilet block which wasn't really an issue at all regarding smells or noise. Camping etiquette was observed well with no noise or disturbance during the 'quiet hours'. The old shower block needed some tlc and showed it's age but the facilities in the block were perfectly acceptable. The heated swimming pool although small, is perfectly adequate for children. In the male changing area, there are no lockers for belongings or valuables, or separate cubicles for privacy or dignity when changing and only one shower which is open to the main changing area. The staff were helpful and friendly. An issue of a tap that wasn't working in the older toilet block was reported and fixed in an impressively short time. A short walk down towards the reception and shop and past the bar and restaurant takes you to a shower block which was much larger and clearly a lot newer. The toilet and shower facility there were much better than in the older block in the top field. We had a meal in the bar area which was very nice and plentiful. The pool table is in the most ridiculous place and makes it unusable for anything other than a bit of fun or a laugh. For anyone keen or interested in playing pool forget it. The table is in a room that is a direct route to the toilets and the room is so small that proper use of a cue is impossible. The only other criticism I could say is the state of the roads in some places. There are some sections that have large potholes and ruts and clearly need some repair pretty soon. We enjoyed our stay at Bucklegrove and we would happily stay there again and therefore have no reason not to recommend it.

Trailer Tent - Fully Serviced Grass PitchesAug 2025

One of the best campsites we've stayed in. Fantastic manager and manager and his wife, nothing was too much trouble. They went over and above on a small problem we had. Lovely swimming pool. Good entertainment, fun game of bingo, little park, the children loved it. Will certainly be going back.

Large Tent - Plus Grass PitchesJul 2025

The place and the staff were lovely. The only reason I’ve put 4 stars for the facility was the power of the water that comes out the showers wasn’t great. But other then that I’d 100% go back

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesJun 2025

What a find! We just wanted a little weekend break with 3 children in our motorhome and this was perfect. Staff couldn't be more accommodating! A little play park for little ones and plenty of space to ride bikes and scooters around for older ones. Pool isn't huge but is great for a splash around, especially in the hot weather, food in the restaurant is proper pub grub and with generous portion sizes - superb!

Would definitely book again!

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2025

Lovely site, very clean. We arrived and the lady on reception was really nice and helpful, she even printed some maps of walks for us. The lodge was well staffed and again really clean. Only downside, it wasn't always open but the opening dates are times are clearly advertised, I'm guessing as it's not peak season it's not viable to keep it open every day. The little shop is well stocked and actually good prices too, didn't feel like we were paying ridiculous money for anything. The staff are incredible to be honest, always happy to chat and help and certainly make this site exceptional!

Beautiful night

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2025

Good place to stay, restaurant could be open a little bit longer but food was tasty. One thing missing in that place was no kitchen to make coffee at the morning, but apart from that a really nice place to stay.

Great place to stay with the family, just what we needed

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

We had a fantastic stay at this well-maintained campsite. The grass pitches were spacious and perfect for setting up a large tent, making for a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The toilet and shower block was basic but clean, well cared for, and perfectly adequate for our stay. The pub on-site was a real highlight—the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere. Whether sitting indoors or enjoying the outdoor seating area, it was a lovely spot to relax after a day of exploring. Overall, a wonderful campsite with everything needed for a pleasant stay.

VW-Type Campervan - Small Electric Hardstanding PitchesMay 2025

Site was great but really annoying that people in their tents thought it would be okay to keep talking until 4am. Really annoying when you have young children. Loved the site and a great find for us.

Really nice, peaceful stay

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesMay 2025

Stayed here for 3 nights, lovely pitch with plenty of room, really friendly staff. Didn't get a chance to try the restaurant/clubhouse or the pool (maybe next time) as we were booking to go again before we left the site. Lots of places to visit within a short drive. Highly recommended.

Really good great weather

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

Always helps having the weather with you, but we had a great time here. Wookie caves just round the corner, great views for days, we would say (but not a biggie) play area needs a bit of investment when you have about 15 kids on 1 slide but that's on a kid's side. On an adult side it's great would deffo recommend it to others.

Brilliant site

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesMay 2025

Absolutely worth every penny! We were a little nervous about the site as we had to travel 5 hours (visiting relatives) and the site was so cheap. From first arriving on the site (we were 1 hour late and didn't manage to get in touch to tell them) they made us feel extremely welcome. During our stay of 8 nights, we couldn't fault anything about the site. It did get very busy during weekends but everyone was respectful and there was no noise late on. Would definitely stay here again when we visit our relatives.

Enjoyed the stay there

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesMay 2025

Nice site with many seasonal caravans in one area and touring pitches in other. Reception is helpful. Amenities of high standard. Entrance from B road is steep with sharp bend so any caravan longer than 7.3 - 7.5 meters may scrape the road if turning manoeuvre is not done carefully. Cheddar and Wells are nice small towns to explore. Nearest motorway junction is 14 miles from site by narrow local B and A road, so expect it to take 30 minutes in usual traffic.

Pleasant stay

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

A very pleasant stay, good views. Site facilities, very good. The track to pitch very unsuitable for touring vans. In need of maintenance and road behind site very noisy with traffic. .
