Not a perfect fishing holiday

Came here for a 5 night stay with the view of fishing a few days. Nice site with good pitches. But the fishing ponds leave a lot to be desired. For a start, a lot of the pegs are unfishable and not safe. The biggest problem is the lack of water. Some bigger carp are swimming about with their bellies in the mud and dorsal fins out the water! A heron landed in the middle of one pond amd the water just came up to its knees! I walked around plumbing the depth on both ponds. 14in was the deepest I could find! Also, lots of debris in the margins from chopped down branches. I gave up trying to fish as it isn't fair on the fish. It should not advertise itself as a fishery when its in the state its in. We was supposed to stay 5 nights, but give up after 3 and found a site with water in its fishery. Explained things to the lady in reception. Her reply was "I am just temporary, I am just standing in". Not impressed and definitely wont be back or recommend it to anyone.

Your visit took place during a period of exceptionally dry weather when water levels across many lakes and fisheries in the region were significantly lower than normal. The health and welfare of our fish are extremely important to us, and we regularly monitor the lakes to ensure they remain safe and suitable for the stock they contain. We appreciate your comments regarding some of the pegs and bankside conditions. Ongoing maintenance is carried out throughout the season, and feedback such as yours helps us identify areas where improvements can be made. We are also sorry that you felt your concerns were not fully addressed during your visit. The team member you spoke with was covering reception duties at the time and unfortunately may not have had the detailed knowledge required to answer your queries. We value all feedback, whether positive or negative, and will take your comments into consideration as part of our ongoing improvements. Lovely little Campsite ..

On our stay at Roach Farm Park we found it Lovely and Peaceful and very well kept. Our pitch looked onto the late where there was lots of wildlife, which was nice to see. The toilet blocks also was well looked after and plenty of hot water for your showers .. Only a 5 minute drive into Skeg and the hustle and bustle of the seaside . Then back to a tranquil campsite. Will definitely be booking again .

Love this place

Everything we’ve read is true. Clean quiet, lovely surroundings just the facilities we need. Clean showers and toilets with plenty hot water electric hook up and waste facilities close by we intend to go there again. Also a great place to stop to go into Skegness on the bus. 

Perfect for us

Perfect for us. Peace and quiet was wonderful. Showers and toilets very clean, we just wanted basic facilities not a rowdy site. Lovely pitch overlooking the lake was the best start to our motor home journey.Helpful unassuming staff. Also good for local buses. Will definitely go back..

most enjoyable

Had a warm welcome from Lynn. Our pitch was overlooking the fishing pond and it was wonderfull, just sitting watching the geese and ducks, good for bird watchers too. obviously if you like fishing this is the place for you. The site is situated a 5 min drive from Skegness, the Lincolnshire Wolds are just a 10 min drive so the location was excellent, really enjoyed our stay and will definatly stay again.
