Great stay
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Booked one night to try out a new awning. Was a lovely stay! Great facilities, peaceful, clean and quiet. Good sized pitches with country views. Walked into monyash in the evening and visited the donkey sanctuary next door. Definitely would recommend and as it’s close to home will visit for weekend short stays again!

My first solo camping trip
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 I had a great 4 nights staying here. It was my first experience of camping on my own. The Site Manager helped me put my tent up on arrival as well. He also appeared to help me take it down but I'd already managed it. It was peaceful, safe and in a great location of exploring lots things around me from walks/trails/dales, pubs, ice-cream, farms and local villages. Although it was self-service, there were staff around all the time - cleaning, tidying, working, gardening. I found it a super-friendly campsite and experience, and especially as a single female visiting. THANK YOU for making it special.
Excellent value for money
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Great value for money, toilets and showers were clean. Pitches, unfortunately, had people in front of you and beside you, so felt a little over crowded.
Liked the fact it was just a short walk to there other site with a pub which, luckily for us, was showing the England game and served great food.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 This was a good location to get to the attractions nearby. The site got very busy during the weekend but there was still room for everyone. Plenty of good walking trails nearby.

Clean and spacious - not as quiet as we hoped!

This campsite is not the quietest as it is situated close to a busy A road that regularly has motorcycles driving on it at all hours. Of course this is not the campsites fault at all, just a note to be mindful if you are looking to stay somewhere tranquil with nature sounds only.

Lovely hike to Monyash and Arbor Low. Next day to Lathkill nature reserve from Over Haddon, absolutely beautiful nature reserve

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Excellent campsite, very clean toilets, pub in walking distance. Only downside is it's located on a busy 50mph road so there is noise from passing cars. Certainly not a dealbreaker.

Good location easy access, had everything we needed, although we had a non electric hookup and a onsite freezer to store ice packs would have been amazing. Will definitely come back here.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Ethel bagging fest started from here. Easy self serve check in. Plenty of parking at the closed pub for use before or after stay. The covered area there just in case of downpour would have been useful but weather was kind to us. Great little camp find.

Pleasant, well located site with functional and clean facilities. Well located for Buxton, Bakewell & Chatsworth. Royal Oak pub is good for food and easy access to cycle paths

Royal Oak pub is good for food and easy access to cycle paths. We were 2 adults in a camper but site has a good playground for children. There is an excellent truck stop cafe just by the entrance that does great coffee and breakfast butties. Would recommend.

Fantastic Campsite
Roof Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 This campsite is well worth the stay, location is good, short drives no more than 30 mins from most areas of the Peak District and hotspots. Facilities are very well maintained with proper showers, toilets and crockery cleaning area. Easy to identify pitches of generous space and efficient electrical hookup. Pitches do get a little wet when it rains but we had no dramas getting in and out. WiFi was a nice surprise as well and had good coverage out to our pitch. There is a play area for kids, didn’t use it personally but if I was younger I would make the most of it!

Beautiful site, beautiful location
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 We loved our stay here. The campsite was clean and well maintained with great facilities (hot showers, clean toilets and the family bathrooms were a great addition). Ideally situated for us to Buxton, Ashbourne and Bakewell, but with smaller villages close by. Walking distance to a lovely farm shop and there's Pomroy petting zoo and shop a bit further up the road. The pitch is an amazing size with plenty of room for a large tent or a few little ones if people aren't sharing tents. And with space for your car too.
There's a little play area and lots of space for children to run around.
Site managers Becca & Adam were super friendly. And Beccas directions to the pub were spot on (thanks!). We'll be booking again for the next half term.
