Linwater Caravan Park is an award winning family run site situated on farmland, 30 minutes outside of Edinburgh. Tents and tourers are welcome with a range of electric and fully serviced pitches, with the option of grass or hardstanding. Onsite you will find a small shop, dog walking area, WiFi and a play park. It is set by the Union Canal for fishing, with Almondell and Calderwood Country Park next door too. Open year round!

Great location, only 15 mins from the airport or 30 mins into the city. Still felt very rural, although you do get the planes flying quite close (but they didn't disturb us). Toilets and showers very clean and good, staff very friendly, handy to have a shop with essentials + toys for kids. The playground was a touch - really helped us to keep the kids busy whilst we packed up the van! If I had to pick a negative, it would be that the grey waste disposal was not a drive-over situation so we had to empty our tank jug by jug (parked next to it). Probably more us being van novices - there was probably some of pipe we could have used if we had known how. Other campsites could drive over the drain which just made life simple. It's barely a negative though. Would definitely stay again!

Me and my 8 year old son stayed only one night, as we had an appointment in Edinburgh and had booked Go Ape the following morning. This site was convenient for both. Check in was easy and hassle free. There were lots of kids around my son's age for him to play with and he enjoyed the play area. The toilets and showers were clean and modern. We were both very happy with our stay.

We stayed for one night - we arrived late as we'd been stuck in traffic but called the park to let them know and they were very accommodating. When we arrived, we were met by a super friendly lady. The site itself is located in a nice spot and only a 4 mile drive to the park and ride into Edinburgh centre, which is ideal. The shower block was very clean and the shared catering facilities were ideal. We'd booked a hard standing electrical pitch but unfortunately, our lead didn't reach to the electric outlet, we did call the emergency mobile number to see if we'd be able to move pitch but there was no answer - it wasn't a massive deal as we could use the shared kitchen area. We'd defo stay here again.

Amazing stay, so close to Edinburgh with close public transport links. Incredible facilities, and super friendly staff. Gerry and Mark were super helpful and accommodating! Already looking to book our next stay.

Only stayed for one night, but check in extremely helpful (had some trouble with the electric cabling). Found all facilities so very clean and amazed by the showering and toilet facilities. Check out also very smooth and well-handled. Definitely would recommend.

Lovely large pitch, spotless modern facilities. Gerry and all the staff were so helpful and friendly. The surrounding walks and countryside are lovely and the kids loved the bats. Very nice stay.

Cannot recommend Linwater highly enough. It was located perfectly for our needs. A quiet rural location but a 10 minute walk into the village gets you on a bus that runs approximately every half hour directly into centre of Edinburgh. If you a have a dog they're welcome on the bus, and for dog walking you can walk directly off the campsite onto a footpath that takes you to Lin Mill viaduct for a really beautiful walk. The campsite itself is very clean and tidy with new and modern facilities. Fully equipped with everything you could need. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be returning here.

Brilliant campsite on the whole. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the facilities were excellent. No site that has push button showers will score 5 stars from me but really can’t fault anything. Would come again no question. Thank you.

A lovely site. Some very impressive facilities, clearly quite new. The only disappointment was that my wife returned from the toilet, late in the evening and stated that there was not a single loo roll in the whole building. She checked all of the dispensers but found nothing.

The site is very well kept and showers etc are spotless. Camping kitchen area was fab with microwaves, hobs, tv and game system. l stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. There are some lovely walks nearby, the whole area is very picturesque. Downsides to the park, local council have left the roads in a terrible state of disrepair with potholes everywhere. We were sited next to the children's play area. We are in our late 50s and found it a little noisy at times. My wife went to use the toilets on two occasions and found toilet roll had ran out?

One night stop off for us. Lovely welcome and gave us all information needed. Showers/ toilets were spotless! Liked the communal kitchen with tv and loads more. Will definitely be back in summer for a longer stay.

A one night stay (actually on the10th as I had to change original booking) as I had a very early morning pick up at the airport. Easy booking, friendly and informative staff and a lovely, modern, clean and warm toilet/shower block. Information was sent by email before arrival which was handy. I will definitely come here again if I visit Edinburgh as I’m told it’s easy to go via park and ride into the city. Only 20 mins from the airport too.

When we arrived, reception was closed, so there was a little confusion on where to sign in but once that was resolved, it was a dream. Come and go as we pleased. Very clean and nice shower block. The limited interaction with staff was very positive. One thing to note is that it's very close to an airport, so if you're a light sleeper, the almost constant planes could disturb you. We didn't get a chance to use the park but it looked fun for kids. Definitely will consider staying here again if we ever go to Scotland again.

Fantastic campsite! The nicest bathroom facilities I've ever had the pleasure to use. Only dropped 1 star for location, and that was only because the airport was a little noisy. But, I knew about the airport before booking, so I won't moan about that. A lovely quiet site, in a very rural part of Scotland. A walk or short drive to the stunning forth bridge and less than 8 miles from Edinburgh city centre. I will be returning, hopefully for more than just 1 night next time and possibly not in the middle of a storm.
