Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

This was our second time staying at Bunchrew and we enjoyed it once again. Excellent facilities, gorgeous location and has such a nice feel to it. We’re a family of 5 and it is a lovely family-friendly site. I’m sure we’ll be back again.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

My boyfriend and I stayed here as less experienced campers and had the best time. Facilities were immaculate, and there’s plenty of them so we never had to wait for a shower or toilet. Staff were friendly and attentive on arrival. The location is absolutely brilliant. It only took us an hour and 45 mins to get to the west coast for the day, and the campsite is in a beautiful setting with a great view… especially for a sunset on a nice evening! We will definitely be back here another time and cannot recommend it enough!

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

First time at this site and already making plans to come back. Showers and toilets are open late / maybe 24hrs, no closing time for the site and has everything you'd need on-site. Showers are fantastic with a clear on/off toggle - no more having to press a button every 3 seconds. Pitches are unallocated with loads of different spots to pitch up and plenty of electrical points dotted about. Very easy to get to and clear directions from staff when you check in. Staff are also super friendly and let me borrow a mallet when I left mine behind.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2026

The location is excellent, an ample sized site, plenty room for campervans, small, medium or family sized tents. Good facilities, separate toilets and showers, ladies toilets were very clean. Showers could do with a little attention to detail, eg somewhere to put shampoo/con/ soap when showering, and possibly to be checked on a more regular basis. This could possibly be due to people not cleaning up after them, I understand it's high season. The water tends to get very hot. Very good value for money. Booking and booking in is flawless. Would definitely camp here again. Thank you for my stay.

Beautiful place right by the sea, lovely host

The location was amazing. No grass pitches laid out so very random pitching from some, especially hires motor homes.

Views & sunsets worth the pitch fee alone

Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2026

Great site just outside of Inverness, they are a bus stop on the main road which is great to hop on if you don't want to take your van out, £2 each way. The views from the park are amazing and the sunsets are out of this world. Facilities were clean, good shower and they were a hairdryer. They were also a food van for breakfast and evening which is great if you don't want to cook. Would I return, yes I would :)

Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2026

Great snack van. Really friendly bloke running it along with his Alsatian, Buddy. Friendly staff at campsite too and lovely view of the water if you pitch up by it. A nice walk at low tide along the beach and a great place to relax. In summer, with good weather, you can stay out late and look at the views. Would highly recommend if you are staying near Inverness and a perfect base for the Jacobite Loch Ness tours.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJun 2026

The grass was very nicely cut and well kept. The toilet and shower blocks were super clean and well looked after the whole time. They have a very handy burger van if you can’t be bothered cooking that open in the mornings too for breakfast. The receptionist was super welcoming and pleasant. Very helpful too with an easy check in. Thanks

Pleasant staff. Good food truck. Just bit rough round edges. Other campers were very noisy late into the night but not a negative against the camp owners.

Fabulous campsite, no definite pitches, just adhere to 5m distance. Very historic site, old buildings converted into showerblock/ laundry/wash up and reception. Very helpful and friendly staff. Food cabin serving breakfast and evening food .Inverness about 20mins drive away and also 20 min drive to the boat tour of the Caledonian canal and Loch Ness

Fab stay!

Extra Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2026

Place was amazing, views were great, only down fall for me personally was the camper vans close to us in the tent opening and closing there doors most of the night

Not the best facilities or layout

Motorhome - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2026

A lovely location but spoilt by the facilities and layout. There was no clear structure with pitches for caravans/tents and motorhomes randomly placed. Services were dotted around the site like it hadn't been thought about, rather than being in one area. The showers were like a cow shed complete with a metal chain to operate and cobwebs (although the water was hot and a steady temperature). The sinks were metal and felt like a public toilet. Despite us arriving before the last entry time, the reception was closed so we had no welcome/check in and had to just look for a space without guidance, other than a notice on the office window. The shop (viewed through the window as it was closed) had bare shelves so you need to be stocked up beforehand. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst campsite/experience we had whilst travelling round the NC500.

Site's response

I'm sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We have no plans to change the site as we offer what I hope is authentic camping, yes you might encounter a spider in the shower building, a mole may try to surface under a tent and there is as little concrete and tarmac as possible and no artificial turf or plastic hedging. The on/off overhead shower valve arrangement is a thought out design (much admired by many) where there is no pipework or clutter in the cubicle meaning it is far easier to clean and nothing to bump into. The on/off chains could not be simpler to operate and are fool-proof, guaranteeing a 'power shower' with hot water for as long as you like. Stainless steel is about the most environmentally friendly material there is and will remain clean and hygienic indefinitely. We offer a natural straightforward campsite where you are usually invited to choose your own pitch but when the park is likely to be full you will be given directions to your pitch. We try to welcome all visitors in person but cannot always do so under all circumstances. A perusal of our reviews will show that some like the site and some do not, we fully understand this and have no plans to 'modernize' and risk destroying the character of a long established campsite.

Wow! Beautiful Beauly views

Absolutely beautiful site in a prime position! Spacious pitches, we managed to pitch right next to the water. So peaceful, relaxing and convenient getting around sightseeing to various places including Loch Ness. Highly Recommend this site.

Had a brilliant stay here at Bunchrew. Scenic views from the site, facilities close by and very clean. Very handy location, close to town but still get that wilderness vibe. Nice and peaceful and burger van hit the spot and nice change from cooking. Definitely recommend and will be back.
