Efford Down Campsite is a friendly, back to basics campsite on the outskirts of Bude, a vibrant seaside town in North Cornwall. Set on a gentle hillside overlooking Bude, the site offers unmarked non-electric grass pitches for tents and campervans. With sandy surfing beaches like Summerleaze and Crooklets a stone's throw away and a great pub just around the corner, it's got something for all the family - dogs included!
About the site
If you're after a spot of relaxed, no-frills camping with easy access to Bude and its beautiful local beaches, you've come to the right place. Both family friendly and pet friendly, the site is set on a hill overlooking Bude town and its meandering canal. Feel free to pitch your tent or campervan wherever you please, so long as you respect your neighbours. Bude and its abundance of independent shops and cafes are a mere five minute walk away, while Summerleaze beach (a popular surfing spot) is just under 15. The site also offers direct access to the South West Coast Path, ideal for hikers and dog walkers looking to tackle Cornwall's scenic headlands. If you want a real seaside adventure, the site has teamed up with the nearby Freewave Surf Academy to offer camping and surf lesson packages at a discounted rate. These are suitable for all ages and abilities and are a sure way to guarantee a holiday to remember! Campfires are permitted as long as they are raised off the ground. BBQs and firepits can be hired onsite if needed. Well-behaved dogs are welcome for a small charge. Please keep four-legged friends on leads around the site - but feel free to run wild along the coast!
