VW-Type Campervan - Non-Electric Grass Pitches (Max 6m)Jun 2024

Our pitch was allocated the day before so we're able to find and settle straight away. T he campsite was clean and tidy and staff were friendly and helpful. The newish toilets and showers were lovely but I worry that the toilets seats are flimsy and will soon break with the heavy handling of the general public. We would be happy to return should we find ourselves in the area again.

Site's response

Thank you Anne, glad you liked the site and enjoyed your stay with us, we worry about it too but we'll deal with it as and when! Thanks :-)

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Max 7.5m)Jun 2024

Busy site. Friendly staff. Nice 30 min walk to the beach. Toilets and showers immaculate. Lovely disposal facility. Pub local, didn't try but looked nice. Site good for families. Little noisy with young kids for us but would recommend to others.

Site's response

Thanks for the review Sarah, we appreciate you taking the time to let others know how you felt about the site :-)

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Max 6m)Jun 2024

Clean, small, peaceful campsite, just what we like. Good range of pitch sizes to suit all, with easy check in and facilities. We loved the fact that the pitches are surrounded by shrubbery and greenery, giving some natural privacy. We particularly enjoyed seeing the resident guinea fowl wandering around the site. The site has a newish unisex toilet/shower block with 8 individual bathrooms, which was lovely and clean, with plenty of hot water. We used the site to visit Exmouth and the surrounding area, we walked the costal path to Budleigh Salterton and got the bus back. All in all, we loved the site and the area it is in. We will be back again.

Site's response

Thank you so much for your kind review. Come back again soon!

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding and Grass Pitches (Max 8m)Feb 2024

Very pleasant, if basic site. Facilities were adequate. They were warm & clean, if a little dated - a new shower block is under construction. Pitches are a good size and a dog friendly beach is a 20 minute walk away along a narrow lane.

Site's response

Thank you for your comments. Our facilities (shop/bar) are closed during the winter period as there is very low demand. We are very excited about the new shower block being installed. Come back and see us soon. Best wishes.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding And Grass Pitches (Max 7m)Jan 2024

Good, quiet site located within walking distance of Exmouth beach and local pub (The Clinton Arms), although food is not served until February. The site is located down a small country lane with permissive paths across fields, ideal for dog walkers, which take you into town. I was welcomed on site and shown where everything is. The shower block is basic and dated but was always clean and heated, especially important with the cold weather this weekend. There is a new shower block being installed and this will improve facilities and will increase the rating. I will definitely be back.

Site's response

Thank you for your comments, Bradley. We hope to see you again. Best wishes.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding And Grass Pitches (Max 7m)Jan 2024

Unfortunately, we arrived in rain, the lane to walk to the beach and Exmouth was flooded, so had to drive motorhome into Exmouth. Heavy rain continued and the site was very muddy. The lane to leave the site also became flooded, so we cut short our stay after 1 night because we had a small leak and we were worried about getting stuck there. Am sure the site is lovely when not covered in mud and water - Great British weather! Would have been useful to have been told about the flooding and perhaps be offered an alternative date? Unable to say too much about the site because we stayed inside except to use the loo, which was clean.

Site's response

We are so sorry your enjoyment with us was spoilt by the weather, Sue. There was an unprecedented amount of rain which caused the flood, hence the amount of mud on the campsite. Our local weather report did not indicate that this amount of rain was coming our way. We would love for you to revisit our campsite to enjoy a more relaxed experience. Please except a 2 night stay with us free of charge. Best wishes.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding and Grass Pitches (Max 8m)Dec 2023

Stayed beginning of December for two nights so not expecting any on site facilities. Local pub was a 10 minute walk but unfortunately stopped doing food, so Exmouth was the nearest place. Shower block is getting upgraded. Can imagine this being a great little site in summer.

Lovely, quiet stay at a really lovely site

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding And Grass Pitches (Max 7m)Sep 2023

Our first foray into the campervan ownership lifestyle. We found selecting & booking this campsite, online, very easy, We received rapid booking & payment confirmation, along with directions & some info about the site we'd selected. We found the site fairly easily & felt it was perfect for our initiation into taking our little van conversion away. We felt that the site seemed very well laid out & everything well managed. The facilities were kept very clean too. The site manager & caretaker seemed very friendly, welcoming & helpful. Our dogs also enjoyed their stay & it was good to see a dog poo bin provided. In an ideal world, it would be fab to maybe have a fenced enclosure/exercise area, where space allows, or maybe the option to pay an additional premium to have a fenced/enclosed pitch, so K9's could be safely off lead when within the allocated pitch? We will definitely look to revisit & recommend to our friends & family.

Site's response

Thanks for your in depth review. We very much appreciate you taking the time to tell other campers how you liked our campsite. Look forward to seeing you again :-)

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches (Max 7.5m)Sep 2023

Good location for Exmouth. Unfortunately, there was noise and smell from sewage works along the road from the site during our stay.

Site's response

Hi Elaine, I am sorry you were disturbed by the water treatment plant run by South West Water. We call them whenever we get a complaint but very little is done about it. A direct complaint from guests could go someway to making them take notice, but it's a battle with them.

Lovely campsite!

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Max 6m)Sep 2023

Absolutely loved our stay at Prattshayes! The location was perfect and we cycled down to the beach every day. Really nice, secluded pitches and plenty of space in each. The only downside was that the showers were very, very hot, which made showering slightly unpleasant.

Good campsite

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Max 6m)Aug 2023

Nice quiet site. Clean and tidy, great staff. Limited shop, seem to cater more for bar than an essentials shop. No ice available while we were there, limited freezer space for ice packs. No control of the hot water in the showers, so if you like it hot you're lucky. Pitches were generous, we were lucky with the weather, great place to use as a base to explore the area. Easy walk will get you onto the Blue Flag beach at Exmouth.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Max 7.5m)Jul 2023

Nice little site and a short walk to the beach. Nice washing up area with plenty of water outlets. The only downside was the fact there are only 3 showers for men and 3 for women, 3 toilets for women and 2 for men, plus 3 urinals, to cover the entire site! We were close to the wedding venue and it didn't stop till 11pm and it was loud. There were 2 weddings over the 4 nights we were there! All in all it's good value for money, just a shame about the showers and toilets.

Site's response

Thank you for your review. I'm pleased to tell you our new shower block is under construction and will be in situ for next season. It is unusual for us to have two weddings in one week, so that was unfortunate for you, although the campsite also has an 11pm curfew for music and loud behaviour, so it's all quiet by 11pm, which is good. Hope you revisit and enjoy the new facilities :-)

Quiet & clean site, nice and close to Exmouth

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Max 6m)Jul 2023

We hired a camper van locally to us and booked a few sites on route to Devon. This is a lovely quiet campsite with clean facilities. Nice level ground and really quiet at night. We stayed 2 nights and made use of the bar for a nice cold cider. It's only about a 20 min walk up the lane to Exmouth where you can walk or get the open-top bus along the front. We will definitely come back.

Site's response

Thanks for your kind words, we're very pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. Come see us again soon :-)

Small Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Max 6m)Jul 2023

This was a lovely little campsite and I stayed for 2 nights to attend a wedding at the attached venue. I have severe arthritis and asked to have a pitch close to the wedding venue. I was given the one right next to the entrance which was brilliant - except I was then told during the evening I couldn't use this entrance and had to walk all the way out to the road to gain entry. This was very difficult for me and I would have liked to have been told that when I was allocated my pitch. There was really little point in giving me the pitch next to the entrance gate to then be told I couldn't access it!

Site's response

Hi Carolyn, did you explain to the person who told you that you couldn't use the gate that we had allocated you that pitch because of your problem? I'm really sorry that you had a bad experience with us and that it's taken this amount of time to reply. Kind regards, Marylou.

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches (Max 7.5m)Jun 2023

The location is good for Exmouth, being just a 10 to 15 minute cycle ride away. The assistant is friendly and helpful. The place is busy with a cheerful atmosphere. It has enough facilities for a short stay, which I believe is all it offers anyway. A few negatives: the entrance is on a narrow lane that doesn't feel all that safe for cycling or walking; the site is small with no water feed or waste water drain; and you do feel quite closely surrounded by your neighbours. We enjoyed our stay though.

Site's response

Thanks for the review.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding and Grass Pitches (Max 8m)May 2023

Great place to stay with superb service on site. Near enough to place to go but a place to stay that is in the countryside - so very little noise apart from the sound of wildlife.

Site's response

So glad you liked the site and the service, it does the team good to know their hard work pays off. Thank you.
