Aerial of the campsite

On the Isle of Purbeck, Woodyhyde Campsite is a stone's throw away from Dorset's famed Jurassic Coast, Swanage and Corfe Castle. Guests can choose from electric or non-electric grass pitches, as well as hardstanding pitches ideal for tents, campervans, and motorhomes. And the best part? You can pitch up wherever you want! If you love the outdoors but aren't keen on canvas, there's the option of fantastic yurts or the shepherd's hut too.

Amazing location, so close to Corfe castle and some lovely pubs! Onsite shop has everything you could ever need whilst camping and such good value for money! Really friendly staff gives a laid back and relaxed atmosphere around the campsite. Beautiful views around the campsite and plenty of space even during busy times. Already planning to come back next year!

Really lovely site. Close to all the beautiful walks and beach. So enchanting watching the steam train go past from our tent. Couldn't fault it.

Long weekend stay, meeting friends and coastal walks

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2025

Lovely site in a great location. Plenty of room - although non electric pitches were limited to the edges and ends of field which required levelling wedges and/or careful positioning. On our last night we upgraded to electric and moved to one of the flatter pitches which was very easy to do. We loved the steam train passing by and had a ride ourselves. The footpaths from site were great. The site map clearly marked access to these. We did a fantastic circular walk which was clearly signposted with pretty villages, coastal paths and bridleways through combes -spotting deer. The pub stop with gluten free pasty was much appreciated too. The facilities were plentiful and clean. The reception and well stocked friendly shop made it perfect for us. Oh and the bus stop was at the top of the campsites lane - 5 minute walk away.

Brilliant camp, plenty of spaces

We got exactly what we expected. Paid a good price for 2 nights. Facilities were dated but clean and tidy each time we used them. No issues whatsoever. Would stay again.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2025

Positives and negatives to this review! Huge site with flexible choice of where to pitch but all three fields had loud children but only two were allowed dogs. No specific area for walking your dogs and signs everywhere saying they needed to be kept on leads - however some people decided to ignore those and have their dogs loose and uncontrolled leaving piles of mess! Both nights kids were running round screaming whilst playing until 11pm which is totally unacceptable for those needing to sleep. Basic facilities are not the cleanest but what you pay for is what you get. Very relaxed about the time to depart, which was a huge bonus given the other inconveniences. Would be good if the site rules were monitored or policed to reduce stress of those who adhere to the rules. Also fab location as a 45 minute walk into Corfe Castle - if you've got a dog caution of the busy road section. Suggested to the site: have a quiet zone or adult only area.

Best campsite I have visited so far!!!

Just returned from a 2 night stay here. Have already booked to go back in August!!! On site shop with anything and everything you could possibly need for your stay. Plenty of facilities - toilets, HOT showers and washing up. It's about a half hour walk to Corfe village and lots of lovely walks nearby and you can even buy your tickets for the Swanage railway from the shop. Can't wait to return 😊

Fab stay as a single mum to a toddler

The site was brilliant for location easy to check in. Pitch up where you like, field 3 is dog free. The showers are a token but you get 4 mins of full hot water. The site was very well maintained the shop was well stocked. There was a pizza van on Sunday, we didn't use. The site is great for walkers, lots of walks from the site and also, the bus stops outside of the site so if you do a long walk, you can get the bus back. Wish I could have stayed longer. The site was quiet at night. Will definitely be staying. Again.

Shop is great, helpful people in shop. Was a bit dirty in the portable loos and showers, however, big DofE group in so that could explain it.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesApr 2025

We arrived when the site shop/reception was closed. But rang the number and were directed to where we were able to pitch. Visited the (very well stocked) shop later and got a great reception. The staff are lovely and happy to chat. The toilets are clean and there are lots of them.

Lovely, friendly site

Loved this place. Full of friendly staff and guests and right alongside the steam railway line (it only runs during the day on special occasions). The shop has everything! Pizzas on-site Fridays and Saturdays. The toilets just needed a little tidying up. Highly recommended.

Great site would definitely recommend. If you love the vintage and steam trains this site has the train track at one end of the site and you can watch as the trains go back and forth.

Good value campsite in a fabulous location
