Really good site (if you don’t mind a few things)

Excellent location - Freshwater is the main place to shop for supplies in the west of the island - you are on the edge of town though so going in on foot is quite a trek. I didn't mind that! Friendly hosts, very well-kept grounds, good facilities. There were some drawbacks though.
The site is very family-orientated. Over a busy busy bank holiday, there was just one other tent/ van in my field that didn't have kids. This could be a plus of course, if you've got them too! Incidentally there is a small enclosure for backpacking tents near the buildings - people just doing one night - the IOW Coastal Path runs nearby.
The showers were closed at night and opened up again around 7 - 7.30am, so you had to get your opening times memorised. Another drawback was that there was no reliable internet. Might not be a problem if you want a break from it, but I was travelling solo and could have done with it.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay and would still recommend this site. I used the local buses a lot. They stop close to the site as well as down by the shops and they were surprisingly easy to use. They took me to a lot of nice places, all over the west side of the island. I would also recommend finding the Red Lion pub and Golden Hill fort. Hidden gems, they're not far from the site as the crow flies but v tucked away!
