The Garlic Farm Yurts are situated in the centre of the Isle of Wight between Newport and Sandown. Home to five yurts, each ensuite and including luxuries such as a wood burning stove, kingsize bed, a glam way to explore the nearby beaches and watersports just 10 minutes away. Welcoming the whole family, there is fun for all with activities such as tennis, tractor rides, games room, football pitch, outdoor play area and an onsite restaurant.

About the site

Set in a private and secluded field on the grounds of the popular Isle of Wight attraction, The Garlic Farm. Boasting a great location within easy reach of many attractions and beaches nearby. Each yurt is at least 25 metres from its neighbours, providing the perfect level of privacy without being too remote. There are free-roaming chickens, peacocks and red squirrels on the farm and highland cattle and horses in the surrounding fields, giving a feel of nature for your stay. Feel right at home with beautiful furnishings including blankets, pillows and a toasty wood-burning stove. All the yurts are insulated and include a fabulous fully equipped kitchen plus a space for dining. For something extra special they also have a clear dome in the centre of the roof which can be opened for nights spent stargazing. Perfect for couples and families of 4 they can sleep up to 5 for those happy getting cosy. There is a comfortable king sized bed in the main area of the yurt and a ladder leads up to the mezzanine deck where you'll find three single mattresses. Taking a step outside of the yurts you can enjoy the outdoors with your own firepit, seating and hammock. Two of the yurts also have the luxury of a wood-fired hot tub! Logs are provided for the fire pits and stoves and each yurt has its own BBQ. Head to the tennis courts for a match or two. Should the weather take a turn there is also a games room to keep the kids entertained too. If you're looking for a group getaway, whether it be a reunion, a big celebration or just a spontaneous trip then why not book all the yurts and enjoy exclusive use of the whole site? Sorry, this is a pet free site.

Each yurt includes a fully equipped and self-contained kitchen, along with an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. You'll find a tennis court, games room and football pitch all available for the exclusive use of guests on the farm. There is also a fishing pond for keen fishermen.

Groups are well catered for with a communal dining space, accommodating up to 30 people and a large communal fire pit with seating. There is an onsite restaurant serving breakfast and lunch, plus a farm shop stocking essential food items for guests or the nearest pub is two minutes away by car or a 20 minute walk.

A note from the site themselves...

This is a family farm where we live and work and so it is very important to us that people have a great time visiting. We're here every day interacting with people so obviously it's better when everyone's happy! We are deeply invested in farming in a sustainable and regenerative way and you can see the methods we use when you take a walk around the farm.

We have soil association organic certification and a beautiful herd of highland and Hereford cows playing an essential role in the process. We're always happy to talk to anyone who's interested in what we're up to in the farming space. As a family, we love good times with friends and we try to create a space where those times are easy to have right here on the farm.

Things to do on site and in the Sandown area

Right here at the farm, you can enjoy exciting tractor tours for all the family, getting to know what life on a farm is really like. This glamping site also hosts garlic workshops at various times, where you may be able to make some tasty garlic bread or decorate your own bulb and take it home.

The farm acts as a hub for many miles of footpaths and cycleways for which the island is famous. With open access to all the surrounding woodland and farmland, it's impossible to resist the urge to explore further afield.

As you'd expect, the Isle of Wight is a showstopping place to try sailing, paddle boarding, surfing, kite surfing or even windsurfing, with places to hire all the supplies that you'll need.
