Very accommodating and relaxing Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 There isn't much more you can ask for from a campsite.
The value is brilliant and they had all the necessities I personally needed for the 3 days we were there. Showers were clean, toilets were kept clean, there were a lot of shady places to pitch up in, you just have to look around.
The workers were extremely accommodating, I was able to ask them questions regarding the surrounding area and what they recommend doing for my time there.
They always went out of their way to explain everything in full detail, everything from entrance, to routine, to exit was spot on and so simplistic.
Not to mention the wildlife - horses, ponies, cows and more wondering freely around the campsite, the birdsong to wake up to.
I highly recommend this campsite if you are looking for good value and great hospitality.
Absolutely beautiful Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Beautiful location, lots of cleaning, toilet and shower facilities. Wild horses, cows and donkeys roaming but they didn't intrude on our spot or get in the way.
Had an absolutely lovely time and will definitely go back. Everyone was respectful of the noise late at night and there is plenty of room for pitching without being right on top of anyone.
We arrived slightly late but the staff were understanding and friendly and didn't mind at all.
A little bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it as it really is a beautiful campsite.
Beautiful friendly site, worked for us for a short stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 We stayed here about 10 years ago for a short weekend and it is just as beautiful and friendly.
We stayed again for another long weekend 4 nights and again the setting was lovely and the staff ad well. There is no electric pitches which we already knew and came prepared for that, it would have been nice to have a freezer facility for making packed picnics for your day out, especially as we visited during a heat wave and also to be able to have a cool box in addition to the fridge.
There are plenty of shady spots which is ideal, the site was easy and safe and my 5 year old was very happy cycling around. It wasn't to noisy except for the cows early wake up call! To be expected in the forest. It is lovely to be around the animals. ponies, cows, donkeys and even a toad.
Facilities were okay, there's only 4 sinks at each point, so at many times there was a queue. The tap pressure wasn't always great so it took a while to fill the sinks enough, but overall it was okay.
Showers weren't too bad, not really dirty but they are built with metal cladding so it's pretty hot in the cubicle. Pressure and temp was fine, although it's just a push button which goes off quickly, so not a constant flow and no temp control, so we couldn't cool off after a hot day. The cold water drinking taps were good for this.
Toilets when we arrived must have just been cleaned as there were nice and clean, but didn't take long to get dirty and loo roll to run out. They remained that way for a couple days which was a shame. Only 2 sinks very cramped in at the end so that builds up with people wanting to wash faces and brush teeth or just wash their hands.
I'm not sure why the facilities have changed from when we last visited, as they were a lot nicer and bigger, perhaps covid times or finances? We were not the only ones who communicated on this.
It's nice a local to most things and we always enjoy visiting the forest. Overall, it's good for a few days. We probably wouldn't say much longer and it seemed like a lot of people doing the same.
Lovely location but not enough facilities Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Hello,
I really enjoyed staying at Roundhill.
The pitch was lovely and flat.
Showers were lovely too but there could be more facilities provided (showers, dish washing stations, sinks. There seem to be queues during the day.
There were not enough sinks (i.e. for brushing teeth or washing hands) and the area around them was very tight.
If this could be improved, I would rate the stay 5 stars
Round hill campsite Recommends site

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 .very relaxing weekend
Wilderness galore! Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Just wow! If you want a taste of wild camping then this is the spot.
So many secluded spots available with wild life and wild horses. Be careful not to leave food out or the cheeky horses will have a little snack or two. This site is the vision of peace and quiet that you're looking for when you want to get away from the rat race. The shower blocks are great. Hot water but you have to keep pushing the button. Toilet blocks clean and fresh water dotted all over the place to fill your kettle. Would highly recommend if you need a bit of nature.
Not suitable for teenagers who want Wi-Fi as there is patchy signal unless you are right by the entrance where there is Wi-Fi till 6pm. Gates locked overnight so very secure.
Great camping Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Had a very good weekend camping which was our time staying at round hill plenty of space nice seeing the horses and cows and donkeys on site .We will definitely come back soon as we like the area and the village .
Really lovely stay! Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 We had a fabulous time! The site is huge with plenty of space to chose from! Plenty of toilet, sink and shower space. The showers were hot! I couldn’t believe it! We will definitely be back!
Back to nature Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Great campsite if you want to get back to nature.
Beautiful scenery with donkeys, ponies and cows roaming freely plenty of birds and wildlife around. Wi-Fi only available at reception. Signal very hit and miss. We occasionally managed to get 4G but this didn't bother us.
Hood facilities available. Toilets and showers although a little dated were clean, area for washing up, water filling and emptying areas, chemical toilet and motorhome waste disposal areas. Bins for glass, recycling, general waste etc. All facilities dotted at different areas around the park.
Site itself is large. Everyone needs to be at least 6m apart and although it was bank holiday weekend, there was still plenty of space. Nice walk around the park. It is a bit out of the way but plenty of beautiful walks, local villages like Brockenhurst. Local attractions within a short drive including bucklers hard and Beaulieu.
We recommend this site and would stay again.
Forest camping Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Fabulous and most amazing setting with loads of space to spread out. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great recycling facilities and clear rules for campers.
Even better if there were more toilet blocks with additional washroom space. Very cramped mornings and evenings and unable to wash hands after using the toilet due to crowds brushing their teeth. Some toilets without tissue and although regularly cleaned, the number of people using so few facilities led to less than clean toilets.
Will definitely return though, perhaps at a less busy time!
Excellent stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Would definitely come back to round hill, are stay was very relaxing, checking- in was smooth ,lovely staff friendly and helpful, very clean site,
Peaceful weekend Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Really enjoyed our stay, site was well signed and easy to find, staff were helpful.
Site had all the facilities we could need, only thing I could mention to improve was the hand soap in the ladies and was not replenished for over 24hrs. Apart from that a perfect place to stay in a beautiful location.
Beautiful unspoiled site Recommends site
Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 This is a beautiful site with so much space, broken up by trees and shrubs to give a forestry vibe. It was very peaceful. Horses roam gently which is lovely to experience.
Showers were hot, rubbish points were clean and tidy. Bonus of having a phone charging point with lockers. Close to the town of Brockenhurst which was great to explore.
Would love to return.
End of Easter mini break Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Wonderful friendly helpful owners. A quiet peaceful site full of the New Forest's finest wildlife. Very flat dry pitches (ex airfield) Basic but clean facilities. Next to a variety of easy walks both woodland and heath. Many wheel chair accessible walks.
Good mix of both tents, from solo walker pup tents to state of the art caravans. Plenty of space (maybe the time of year).
1st sta y in the New Forest Recommends site
Trailer Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Loads of space, you can choose where to set up, by bushes, in the open under the trees. So nice and quiet and lots of showers. be aware - the ponies are very clever. Wait for you to vacate and then gate crash! We lost a packet of hot cross buns and a bag of rice.
Very nice Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Very nice stay, excellent facilities, very clean and tidy, quiet, good walks nearby.
Will be back.
Loved every moment! Thank You! Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 We were impressed by every aspect of our 3 night stay. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. They explained that we needed two exits from our van for safety and we only had the side entrance. We quickly removed our wire bulkhead and all was passed. I agreed wholeheartedly with this ruling and thankful for their explanation. Each of our night stays we chose to park somewhere different so we had different views from our van. Toilet and shower facilities are clean and work well. Water perfect temperature. Also they have a washing up station. Loved that too! Although we didn’t use them - they have locked cabinets where you can charge your phone. Toilet and grey water disposal also excellent and fresh drinking water. We saw many ponies and a couple of cows. My husband and I had our two Bracco Italianos with us and we found some picturesque walks directly from the camp site. We would both love to revisit another time - we feel like we have had a proper break and are well rested. We paid £123 for 3 nights over the Easter bank holiday weekend. We found that to be in keeping with what others charged.
Absolutely outstanding Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Superb, friendly, unspoilt. Just our type of campsite. We'll be back!
Great campsite, loads of room Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Lovely campsite, loads of room. Basic but has what you need
Lovely stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Mar 2026 We really enjoyed our stay at Roundhill. The staff were super lovely and accommodating!
I went with a group of friends and my dog it's suited us really well, however I'd say for older couples looking for a peaceful stay away, bear in mind that towards the end of our stay it got very busy and they're were lots of loud children running around. Despite that, not really being an issue for us as we're all in our early 20s and a majority of my group work with kids, so were used to a bit of noise. I can imagine for older couples looking for a peaceful place. it can be a deterrent.
However. when we first arrived. it was bliss as it was still early days in the half term. The sights locally are stunning with lots of neighbouring towns to explore. We went on a boat trip in Lymington which I highly recommend and lots of gorgeous walks.
The showers are incredible, so much so I actually miss the showers in comparison to my shower at home 😂 The toilets and washing up areas are spacious and nice and clean.
There's an onsite shop which we found very useful when we forgot to get milk and phone charging stations free of charge (just note they charge very very slow) there is also free Wi-Fi available near reception, which was very helpful keeping in contact with others as we had no service or mobile data access on the campsite as it's very remote.
The campsite is surrounded by lots of wildlife including cows, horses, donkeys and lots of birds including geese! We found the busier it got, the more animals there were, but it was so lovely to be surrounded by these wild animals and generally, they are all very well behaved, haha.
A really great spot Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 I had a wonderful trip with my Jack Russell and would definitely recommend. All facilities were clean, water warm etc.
The location was amazing - with walks right from the campsite in every direction. Horses, donkeys and cows roaming amongst the pitches made it perfect for the new forest.
Donna on the front desk was exceptional too.
Can't wait to return!
Wild and beautiful Recommends site
