A lovely stay at Brook Farm Recommends site
Small Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2025 We had a wonderful time at Brook Farm.
We loved the animals roaming the campsite and the beautiful view. We would certainly recommend and plan to return for longer next time.
Family weekend Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 We enjoyed our stay at Brook Farm & it was very reasonably priced. We didn't use the facilities as we had a motor home & used our own. The rest of our family did use the toilets / showers & found them satisfactory.
We found a lovely walk for the dogs ( bridleway / footpath.) through Blean woods next to the site. The little petting area was great for the kids.
The on site pizza facility was a good shout too. We found it nice & peaceful & would definitely stay again.
Excellent campsite Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 We love it at Brook Farm - James and his team have workwd hard to keep offering new and exciting things.
Facilities need updating Recommends site
Aug 2025 We had a mixed experience here. Mainly to do with the expectations we had and what we actually experienced. So here's our honest feedback.
The pub is actually almost 2 miles away and takes a minimum of 35 mins to walk (longer if you have small children). And when you do get there The Royal Oak in Blean is derelict, permanently closed and has been for some time. In short, there is no 'nearest pub' that you can reasonably walk to.
The good news is that the camping pitches are lovely and spacious and it's well maintained. It's also a nice touch having the animals there, that's all pretty adorable.
The facilities, however, are less adorable. The loos are cold, quite open to the elements (goodness knows what it's like in colder months), they're not very clean, and there's a tiny sink in the corner of each, with one cold water tap. No soap, nowhere to put any soap, nowhere to hang a towel. Also most of them were locked. The showers are no better with most of the shower heads just lying in the (dirty) shower trays. The wash-up sinks are basic and there's a distinct smell of drains in the whole area.
There's no shop. The cafe is lovely, but doesn't open until 11 - no good if you're after a morning coffee or breakfast. The bins near the entrance/exit gates were overflowing with bags of rubbish, which is not great.
If you don't mind remote, rustic and basic, this is a great spot. I've said I'd recommend it to others, but only if I managed their expectations by explaining all of the above.
Site's response
Hi Ann, thanks for staying with us!
We always recommend talking to a member of staff with regards to local pubs - we would have recommended The Hare in Blean or The Dove, both of which are not closed and are realistically a 30 minute walk, which has never been an issue for other campers. Again, have not had any issues regarding our facilities this year, we have put them all under cover so you're not affected by the elements.
All facilities are cleaned a minimum of twice a day to ensure all toilet rolls and soap dispensers which are located above the sinks are all topped up as well as clean. When there are less people on site, we do close some of our toilets as there's no need for as many! There are also hooks on the back of every door in the block to hang things up!
Our showers again are cleaned twice daily so shouldn't be dirty and we can't enforce people putting shower heads back into holders I'm afraid! We provide washing up liquid at our sinks and they are all stainless units with hot and cold running water and drainer boards-not sure what else is needed!
The cafe opens at 9am on Wednesdays, not 11am, and then 8am onwards Thursday to Sunday, so perfect for coffee and breakfast fixes! You arrived following the August bank holiday and our bin delivery men only come on assigned days, so the refuse hadn't yet been picked up, but I can assure you it's now gone!
Thanks for staying and recommending us - I think!
Okay camping in a nice location near the forest Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Nice staff, several activities, café nearby, hiking options.in the forest, clean toilets and showers.
Open field as campsite, no separations between pitches, so no privacy and quite loud. Trees only on the edges, so no shadow at midday.
Very family friendly Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 A very good campsite, especially if you have children .The pens up the centre of the site containing goats, sheep, chickens and ducks were delighting everyone while we were there.
A busy, noisy and boisterous site, with many people enjoying the pizzas prepared and served on site.
Excellent glamping experience Recommends site
Glamping Cabin - Meadow Lodge Glamping Cabin (Dog Friendly) Aug 2025 Loved my three night stay in Meadow Lodge, The shepherd's hut is cosy and well laid out and the private garden helpful for my nervous dog. Loved Arby's café - excellent flat white and food which I will sample on my next visit.
Although the site was busy and full of children, I was never disturbed by noise. Loved the sheep and goats too.
Fantastic campsite Recommends site
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2025 We've had a wonderful stay at Brook Farm. Site was clean, showers were hot, pitches spacious and on-site wood fire pizza was delicious.
The animal farm was a hit for our granddaughter. James came to our rescue when we came without a lead to the electric. All staff were very friendly.
Shame I didn't get to go to the Wellness Retreat. I would advise to prebook.
We will definitely be returning.
3 night stay Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2025 Our 3 night stay at Brook Farm was enjoyable.
Nice views over the fields. The animal farm is cute and funny to watch the goats play around. The facilities were clean - quite basic but nothing wrong with them.
Pizza night was a nice touch and great pizzas! We loved the fact that walks in Blean Woods was just off the campsite, so enjoyed really long walks with the dog which is what we went for. Staff helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed our stay here.
While we don't have children we like peaceful campsites and knew it would be busy and noisy due to school holidays, however, we still had a great time and would recommend staying here and we will be returning again (after school holidays!)
Superb stay Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Really excellent stay. Hosts ate super welcoming and helpful. Coffee from the coffee shop is excellent, the pizzas are superb.
My partner loved the spa circuit. Can't fault it and will be booking again.
Lovely campsite Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 This is a lovely campsite despite a mix up with our booking where I booked the wellness spa for me and my 6 yr old son not realizing it was for over 16's only.
The location is beautiful with lovely views and a Forrest next door. The farm with the animals was a lovely touch and they had a load back friendly approach.
I loved it despite the weather.
Smashing place Recommends site
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2025 Lovely location, nice atmosphere, very friendly staff and great pizzas. It's a lovely place to be with all the animals. Great for kids too.
We will definitely be back.
Tip top Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Just back from a fantastic stay, genuinely can't fault it. The whole place had such a calm, easy going feel and it was exactly what we needed to properly switch off.
The pitches were clean & well spaced out so you didn't feel packed in. Facilities were good, hot showers & plenty of washing up areas. It's a lovely family run site that's cared for.
One of the loveliest parts were the animals. Some of them roam freely around the site, which gave it a really charming, relaxed feel. The chickens and goats were just wandering about and minding their own business. It's the kind of touch that makes the place feel alive and warm, not just functional.
There's also some lovely woodland walking right next door. Quiet trails, fresh air, and just enough of a workout to justify a proper chill in the evening. It's a great area if you enjoy a bit of gentle adventure without having to drive miles.
Food was unexpectedly excellent. The wood-fired pizza was seriously good. It's not your average campsite food, it's better. Highly recommend grabbing one when they're doing pizza nights.
And the bacon roll from the café in the morning. Freshly cooked, proper bacon, on a grilled brioche roll, no-nonsense and very satisfying.
If you're after a bit of relaxation, book into the on-site spa. It's peaceful, spotless and has a lovely outdoor hot tub, plunge tub and sauna with views over the hills and campsite. None of this is over the top or gimmicky, it's just a really calm, well-run space to properly unwind.
The mix of nature, good food, friendly animals, beautiful walks and a few creature comforts made this trip stand out. It never felt crowded, rushed or commercial. Just easy and enjoyable from start to finish.
We're already working out when we can come back. Would absolutely recommend.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2025 Lovely campsite. Relaxed with good pizzas and cafe for breakfast.
Nice to have fire pits and plenty of drinking water too!
Lovely campsite great location Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Great location great spots for camping and clear pitches.
Toilets were basic but okay overall, a hook on the back of the door would have improved the experience.
Loved it! Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Great place to stay - we’ll be back!
Making memories at Brook Farm Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 The toilet block really needs to be updated, it needs a lot of love and attention. The bays where you camp could be a little wider and if I was to pass on any recommendations to any of my friends, it would be to stay away from the 'river', or stinky burn, as we would called it when I was growing up.
Now, let's talk pizza. I've had the opportunity to enjoy really nice pizza at Breakwater Brewery and from Giovanni at Old Kent Market, Margate, so I know I've been spoiled, but I think the pizza could be a bit better. The pizza was small and the base extremely thin, which left me a little hungry to say the least. It may be because the pizza ovens can't cope with a thicker base but I would definitely upgrade it because it could be amaze-balls.
Arbie's Café need to expand, they're clearly very good, their produce much sought after and are in high demand. James was a lovely host, he was on hand and 'available'. Well done (without and condescendence at all), he has done well! I think the weekend was an absolute cracker and I will be back, I just hope they are able to make improvements.
It was an absolute bargain at £42 for 2 adults, 2 children a van and a 6 man tent and a wee pop up tent (for storage) for 2 nights - not to be sneezed at. It's closer to £90 around here. The last thing I wanted to say was, camping is priceless, my grandchildren made friends and the most precious memories, they made 'best friends forever', they had water fights, kicked a ball, looked after a fire pit, petted the chicken, and the goats and snored all night after exhausting days and late nights. No video games or internet, no TV and definitely no 'I'm bored'. Lia found Isabella, her BFF and will no doubt be asking to go back before my back, hips or legs can happily feel able to recover. I'm shattered, I've already had a 2 hour nap, and my body is feeling very relaxed (1.5 Leffe in) so I'll be thinking about our next trip soon! Well done Brook Farm we loved it!! Oh and thanks for the weather 😃
We loved it xx
Lovely stay Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Ideal for families - lovely location too.
Absolute gem! Recommends site
Large Tent - Electric Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2025 The owners are super helpful and friendly! Always someone about to ask any random question too!
The whole place is such a vibe!
Friendly campsite Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Campervan Pitches Jul 2025 A lovely, friendly campsite, well laid out & good views. The animals were cute to see & there was homemade pizzas on Friday night. The wellness area seemed popular too.
The facilities are a bit dated which let it down. However, as a family campsite, there was plenty of room for children to play & close for walks in the nature reserve.
Great place Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Great place and convenient.
Spend a night with grill and campfire. Quiet and lovely.
Calm and quiet woods for a nice evening walk.
Lovely Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Campervan Pitches Jul 2025 Short but very nice and peaceful stay at Brook farm.
James was helpful and reactive.
Poor site - needs investment Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Campervan Pitches Jul 2025 Great site with good pitches.
Outdated, substandard facilities. Heavily overpriced. Half facilities unavailable. No information on area. No walks in woods available.
Booked 2 nights. Stayed 1. Got refund after a conversation with site 'staff'. No staff on duty all day.
Site's response
After being offered a complete refund as nothing I suggested was good enough, he actually wanted to stay for one night and I was more than happy to refund the second night!
Please note, it's our busy season as a working farm, so after kindly texting and calling to confirm which pitch he could go in, I didn't think there would be any problems - I was wrong! I would have recommended some lovely walks that are available next to our campsite!
All facilities are indeed working and we're still the cheapest campsite in the area! Many thanks for staying with us 😊
