Peaceful and beautiful
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2024 Peaceful location with stunning views and perfect for beautiful walks around Bolam Lake country park. Site well maintained, facilities are immaculate. Dog friendly. David and Jill are so friendly, welcoming and super helpful. Firepit hire well worth it. Will highly recommend and already booked our next stay.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 Fabulous site. Nice size pitch, good views and really clean toilets. Hosts were really friendly and attentive.

Amazing find Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2024 Just wanted to write to say how much I loved my stay at Bolam.
The hosts were wonderful and immensely helpful. I was very impressed at how clean and tidy the site was.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Mar 2024 We had such a lovely stay and would definitely be back.
The owners were just the best. So lovely and nothing was a problem. We loved the little touches like giving out crème eggs on Easter Sunday. David spent his time towing all of us out when our cars got stuck from the rain, which added another unforgettable touch!
Having horses right next to the tents was wonderful for our daughter (and for us). The washing facilities weren't there as we had thought, as there was a delay in the cabin being, delivered but it didn't really affect our stay. They offered to run them through their own dishwasher if needed and also offered to let us park our car at their house if we were worried about getting stuck.
A toilet block would obviously be lovely, but we knew that there wasn't one and the portaloos were kept stocked and clean! Plus, from 10 until 5, you can use the toilet blocks over the road at Bolam Lake!
We would 100% return. Thank you for having us!

It was really lovely to meet you all and you truly made the best of what proved to be an Easter weekend of glorious sunshine and really heavy rain showers - which proved challenging at times for our lovely campers and us :)
The horses love meeting their camper neighbours and Bolam Lake Country Park has great walks and a lovely coffee shop too.
We hope that you visit us again in the future - the new washing facilities are being installed very soon and we hope that we can guarantee warm, sunny weather next time. Thanks so much for staying with us.

Just what we needed
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2023 A last minute booking just to get away for the night. Well kept fields and immaculate toilets. Drinking water available and recycling/ rubbish facilities. Beautiful setting and plenty of wildlife. Spotted two deer and squirrels in opposite field. Fire pit starter pack was a good choice. Everything you need to get your fire going.
Jill and David are delightful owners. Very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyable stay. We will definitely be back. Thank you x

Beautiful and peaceful
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Absolutely gorgeous site with large horse paddocks on two sides- loved watching the horses. Only facilities are portaloos, but these were spotlessly clean. Owners were incredibly friendly and helpful and made us feel really welcome. Very close to the lake for a lovely walk.

Lovely location
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Decided to book in for an overnight stay. It was clearly evident this site was well cared for by its owners who welcomed us not long after we arrived.
The entrance was clearly signposted and the plots well marked out. Excellent views of rolling countryside and close proximity to walk to Bolam Lake and within range of other tourist attractions easily reached by car.
First visit and would highly recommend and will be returning again in near future.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Stayed two nights and really enjoyed our stay.
Great location and views, quiet, nice walks nearby and very well kept facilities.
Great hosts and very helpful with any needs you may have. Say hello to the horses too!

Beautiful location, lovely owners
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2023 Lovely location surrounded by fantastic views. When we arrived the weather wasn't great, with heavy rain forecast for the rest of the day and evening. As we started setting up, David offered us the use of a gazebo and some extra tent pegs. This was at no additional charge. This helped us hide from the rain and make the most of our day.
We realised we had forgotten our chairs and David quickly returned with some for us to use, including a mini one for our son. Jill regularly came to check on us and stood chatting to our little one, answering his questions about the neighbouring horses. The loo's were super clean with Jill cleaning them every morning and evening. The pitch size was generous and we were allowed to choose where ever we wanted. Bolam lake is just opposite the opening of the campsite and we walked around it most evenings.
Overall, a lovely getaway with helpful and kind hosts who go above and beyond. We will definitely be back.

A great camping spot in the North East
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2023 This is a lovely camping space with marked pitches, clean toilets and running water, beautiful views and excellent service. After camping here on a very rainy night, I met Jill, the owner, who wanted to check that everything was OK. It was. Facilities here are basic but well-kept and clean. It's adjacent to the lake where there are good walking paths, a cafe (check opening times!) and more toilets.
