Great place
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2026 Ideal place and bargain for what we paid. Plenty space and clean throughout too
Disappointing, needs some TLC Large Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2026 The toilets and showers were the biggest disappointment. They were consistently disgusting and clearly not cleaned to an acceptable standard. There was mess left around the toilet areas, toilet roll all over the floor, cobwebs in various places and the sinks were visibly dirty. There were also no sanitary bins, and the general bins didn't have suitable lids, meaning used sanitary products such as pads and tampons were on full display. This was extremely unpleasant and unhygienic.
At times, we had to wait to use the toilets as there is only 2 female and 2 male toilets, which is not enough for the amount of campers on site.
Unfortunately, we also found the woman owner to be quite rude which didn't give us a particularly welcoming first impression. The man, on the other hand, was friendly and pleasant.
The pitches themselves also felt very cramped. There simply wasn't enough space between pitches, and we felt quite squashed in, which took away from the relaxing camping experience.
It's a shame because the campsite has potential, but there are several areas that really need improvement. The cleanliness and facilities, in particular, need a serious amount of attention. Regular thorough cleaning, proper sanitary waste bins, heating in the facilities, more changing space and better spacing between pitches would make a huge difference.
Overall, we were disappointed with our stay and, based on our experience, unfortunately wouldn't rush back.
Lots of great places to visit in the area Motorhome - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2026 We were very disappointed in this campsite. We had previously stayed in Glororum which received 5 stars all round from us!
Though a good centre for Northumbrian attractions, Bolbec Manor site is very poorly maintained.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2026 Our favourite stay this year. Warm welcome on arrival and shown around the site. We only needed electric for our airbed and was shown where we could blow this up. Extremely clean toilets and showers. A country pub close by which was great. The views were spectacular. A really relaxed stay with great walks around. Definitely want to return again this year. Strongly recommend!

First stay
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2026 Stayed here on way further north. Nice camp site, friendly greeting upon arrival. Showers and toilets clean but basic. Large pitch with hedge round for privacy.
Good value for money.
