Medium Tent - Non-Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

The campsite was lovely with breath-taking views. Couldn't put much wrong with it, other than the toilets were a bit of a stretch away from where we were pitched up. I have never seen a queue for a food truck go so slow, but that was no fault of the campsite. Good location to go and see Cheddar. These are only small things I would improve as constructive criticism. Great campsite if you have kids or dogs. We love the village so much, would love to live around here one day. Staff are 10/10.

Wonderful place!

Motorhome - Non-Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

We will certainly be back. What can we say, staff were very helpful and friendly. Wherever you saw them on site, even when they were off duty, you were greeted with a smile and a morning/ evening. The site was full, but it wasn't rowdy. It was lovely to see children just enjoying some freedom. The outside caterers were good value for money, excellent quality and delicious. We will certainly be back.

Amazing experience and hospitable staff!

Large Tent - Non-Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

We had a wonderful stay at Petruth Paddocks. 3 of us plus dog. Was August Bank Holiday weekend so the site was super busy but all very well organised and they just about coped. The toilets and showers took a bit of a beating but we're being cleaned regularly. Maybe needed round the clock attendance on this weekend though. Ground was good for pitching tents, level and not too firm. No bent pegs! Hiring fire pits was ace and made the evening. Some live music on Fri&Sat evenings was a great touch. Good location just a short walk into cheddar and the local sainsburys for supplies. Also a stream nearby to paddle in when it's hot. Many happy memories made.

Medium Tent - Non-Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

Camped over the bank holiday weekend with the family. It was busy as expected but this place runs like clockwork. Smooth and fast check in, great ethos, lovely location with great views, sensible rules that allow people freedom but make sure the place is calm and safe for families. Facilities are clean and well maintained. End of the Summer we could sense that some of the staff were a little 'over it' but Jules never stopped smiling and clearly has a great team. Will be back on a slightly quieter weekend :)

Friendly staff, lots of loos and showers, ever had to wait. Always being cleaned by the hard working staff. Great location as we were able to walk everywhere, it was refreshing to not have to get in the car. Cheddar is beautiful and the gorge was a great day out.

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

We stumbled across this campsite and unfortunately only had chance to stay 1 night. The campsite, which is situated in Cheddar, had one of the most beautiful villages I've visited. The campsite itself is perfect for families and young children who like to go back to basics. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We found the site to be very clean and well maintained. There is a cute little bar on site which sold cocktails and sweets for the kids and a pizza van which we didn't eat at but seemed extremely popular. I would definitely recommend this campsite, especially if you prefer a place without all the faff of arcades and loud music. A very relaxed place which we thoroughly enjoyed 😊

Fab stay

Motorhome - Non-Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

Spread out camp site with shower facilities in the middle so be prepared for a longer walk than normal. First time I've been to a site that has had individual shower and toilet facilities great idea btw. Electricity is priced on-top of stay £3 per day and it didn't last 24hrs if we had of topped up I think it would of been around £5 making a 1 night stay around £45.

Site's response

Hi Jacky So pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay :) We charge £20 per person on a hardstanding pitch, so yes, two people would be £40 plus the power you consume. Typically, this is £3-4 per 24 hours, but if heating devices are used, this can be more. We simply charge what we are charged by our supplier - we feel it's the fairest way for both parties. I hope that clarifies for both you and those reading :) Hope to welcome you both back Warm Regards Jules

Such a lovely experience

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesAug 2025

One of our favourite stops in nearly 30 years of caravaning. Very relaxing and no nonsense that some sites have regarding caravan positioning. Will stop again for sure.

Medium Tent - Non-Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

A lovely atmosphere on a perfect site. Just a few rules and regulations but gently applied. The staff were welcoming and helpful, the pitch was flat and easy to set up on, the toilet and shower blocks were spotless, and I even managed to do a full wash and dry all our clothes!

Site's response

Thats great to hear Marie - so pleaed we hit the mark :) Anytime you want to do your washing..... We look forward to your return Jules and the team

Large Tent - Non-Electric Grass PitchesJul 2025

This is the go to family campsite in Cheddar! Just a 25min safe walk away into Cheddar Village, it's a prime spot for the caves and dog walking. The site is absolutely stunning, the staff are wonderful, and the facilities are spotless! Although very busy on our last day, it was still a very peaceful campsite, with plenty of safe running around space available for the kids and dogs. The only thing I would ask the owners to consider (as they truly have thought of everything else) is a field where no bonfires are allowed. Our last night on site, we were surrounded by campfires, that sounded and looked beautiful but unfortunately did smoke us out a bit. It would be nice to have an option to be in a field without any. However, even if it's not an option, we will 110% be coming back next year for another stay!

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non-Electric Grass PitchesJul 2025

Lovely stopover at Petruth Paddocks. Excellent facilities - the individual toilets and showers were spotless. Generous sized pitches. Check-in seemed unnecessarily long; staff kept on getting distracted by other things, instead of dealing with one customer at a time, which made the process lengthy. We enjoyed coffee from the van onsite in the morning and were provided with simple recycling solutions. Overall, it was a good stay and we would recommend this site.
