About the site

Situated on 10.5 acres of Northumberland countryside, the site enjoys a private setting close to the banks of the River Coquet. This little country hideaway has spacious grass pitches on offer for your caravan, motorhome or campervan with electric hook-ups available. There's also a pleasant location situated in the bottom field in the crook of the river as an alternative if you don't need electric. Also situated in the bottom field is the main camping strip which offers spacious grass pitches in an idyllic setting running parallel to the River Coquet. Please note that there is no access to the riverbank from the campsite. The river bank is a Natural England SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) with fishing rights. The boundary is marked by a topwire fenceline. The site has also previously won Silver in the North East Tourism Awards in the Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park Category! Fire pits are available to hire and BBQs are allowed onsite but must be kept raised from the ground. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times. Previous runner up for the Best Dark Skies Camping and Glamping Awards.

A note from the site themselves...

At our campsite, we are all about promoting camping as it should be in a natural environment. Walkmill is a secluded and peaceful location with an abundance of wildlife. We have planted a large number of saplings as part of the Great Northumberland Forest Scheme.

This has helped to define some of the pitches and also created some woodland corridors which we will enjoy watching develop over the next few years.

The meadow in the late spring, early summer adds to the ambiance of the site. It's a delight for enthusiastic individuals and families who truly appreciate the beauty of the countryside. We look forward to welcoming you soon, Claire

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesSep 2024

A beautiful campsite in a lovely spot. Great place to camp to be near various places. We had a great weekend camping and got to see a lot of Northumberland. Only 1 heated shower on the site so we did have to wait a little white to use it, but overall, a clean and welcoming place.
