Hardstanding touring pitch

Lovely site and ideal location for overnight stop prior to ferry to Isle of Mull. Fantastic local sandy beach is a 10 minutes walk away and pleasant circular walk. What was a bit disappointing were the toilet and shower facilities. All but one of the toilets included a shower. Because water from the showers wasn't contained in the shower area, water was around your feet if just using the toilet. As we arrived mid afternoon and went early morning, there wasn't any one on site to raise our concerns.

Excellent site, great location.

Very well kept site, spacious, excellent shower and toilet facilities, very clean, great location. Public footpath to the beach starts 100m from site entrance so dogs can go off lead nice and quick.

Mostly great, a little disappointing

I thought the site to be very well laid out and the standard of the facilities were excellent. But, it was advertised as having laundry facilities and in effect, it didn't have them since you had to head over to Tralee - from where we were pitched, that was a walk of over 600 yards. My wife and I use walking sticks, which made it impossible for us to walk to that facility. So we could only use it by taking our motorhome there and waiting for the washer and drier to take their times to work, some hour and a quarter. Not most convenient. Also the slope on the pitch was too steep for the motorhome even thought we used ramps. This was a shame, especially since you knew what we were coming with and there were flatter pitches available.

Great campsite

Had a great stay at Highfield. Site was very peaceful and well maintained.will definitely visit again.

Excellent site

Fabulous site, one of our all time favourites. The site was spotless as were the facilities. We had a really good sized pitch . Nice walk to the quiet beach and lovely walk back through . Thoroughly recommend

Immaculate

Highfields is a quiet, very clean site close to the beach north of Oban…ideal for the night before the ferry to the Western Isles.

Peaceful and clean site

Very peaceful camp with nice clean warm facilities. The nearby camp of Tralee bay has access to laundry facilities and the chip shop. There’s a park that would entertain kids of all ages including beach a short walk away . We took kids of mix ages and 2 dogs. Very quiet camp at night and peaceful . Great if you love walks .

Quiet peaceful site

Small quiet site 15 minute walk to small beach. Shower and toilet blocks, clean and warm. We only stayed for 1 night as we were travelling further up the west coast

Great wee site

Great wee site, easy run in to Oban for the touristy stuff.....& thos shower/toilet rooms ...WOW.....HUGE 👍👍👍

Perfect

Easy arrivals process. Warden had booklet with all necessary instructions contained within (including map) ready for my arrival. Friendly reply to my phone call to let them know I had arrived. Pristine toilet/shower facilities (free). Laundry facilities on site as well (not free). Well situated waste disposal, chemical waste disposal and rubbish bins. The site was spotless and level. Close to the beach, general store, petrol station (6kg Calor gas £29.95 exchange!), and cafe. Very reasonably priced too. Would definitely go back again and I am happy to recommend.

Campervan break

Brilliant site. Perfect location close to sandy beach. Peaceful. Showers excellent. Everywhere very clean. Beautiful area. We visited Port Appin and Lismore. Site convenient for both. We will definitely be back.

Quiet, friendly site

Very nice peaceful site. Showers and toilets very clean, but could be very damp. We made a last minute booking, as our first site was flooded, so we're very pleased that we could be accommodated so easily. Lovely beach to walk along and had a go in the wild sauna.

Peaceful caravan site not far from Oban and dog friendly

Caravan site very peaceful, not too far from the beach but I have mobility issues, so needed to be driven to other campsite to access the beach. Toilets and facilities were excellent, Ii asked to be near the toilet and shower block and my request was acknowledged. A beautiful part of Scotland within an hour's drive from Oban, Fort William and Glencoe. Would highly recommend.

Lovely site

Although we didn't see any staff, self check in was quick and easy. The site is well maintained with spotless facilities, very chilled and peaceful.

Lovely location

We were only here for one night, hence we were located at a pitch near the chemical waste, which did occasionally smell. Despite the warden saying all their pitches were level, this pitch 37 was not. The site location of the campsite was ideal for dog owners, as the beach was in walking distance where they could exercise. Generally this was a lovely campsite and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a site in this area.

Lovely site

Excellent location and site. Clean showers, peaceful, beach close by, restaurant and shop within walking distance. Oban twenty minutes drive away, would definitely stay again.

Lovely site

Lovely site. Very quiet. Plenty of space between each van so didn't feel squashed in or overlooked by other people. Never saw anyone in reception but there was a mobile number if you needed assistance. A place for brochures to provide information on what's in the area would be good. I found a few walks and places to visit by chance. The facilities were good. Separate showers with toilet and sink. Also separate WC. The toilet and showers were always clean. The only downside was having to go to sister park for laundry. On each of 3 occasions I went, the machines were in use.

Excellent

Well, to fault this site would be wrong because it was perfect and value for money was exceptional. The only thing I could say, and it's in the category of feedback toward perfection rather than a need for improvement, was the shower being with the toilet always makes it hard to drop your shorts for a "use", as the water left from the showers leaves the floor permanently wet. Plus, following someone in for a shower after they had a stinky, turns the entire cubicle into a warm, steamy, smelling room! Just not pleasant but as I say not a criticism, just a heads up if you change the shower block, I think combined showers and toilets are just opposite ones for cleaner ones!
