Fun staycation for us.
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 We had really good time with friends and enjoyed our time at the campsite. Lots of places to visit around and it is located in an ideal location too.

A good budget site
Small Tent - Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 This is a unique site with a real mixture. It is a budget site and is very good value for the money. Our price which included electric was the cheapest that we found anywhere on the island.
The lady at reception was incredibly helpful with our arrival and settling us in although it is worth noting it is not manned full-time.
A few things to be aware of is that the site is situated next to the busy main road between Newport and Sandown, which of course you can see on the map. We were conscious of some road noise but particularly when emergency vehicle sirens go up and down most of the early evening when we were there. Fortunately, we have learnt to travel with eye masks and earplugs so once we went to sleep, it wasn't a problem.
One thing is that the toilet block is very basic and unheated. Also worth noting that the showers need 20p to operate for six minutes. The showers were probably the only let down of the site. The water pressure was low, the shower wasn't really warm enough, and the showerhead was very blocked with limescale meaning a fairly poor experience. Although six minutes is plenty of time to have a shower, I think it could do with some maintenance and updating.
Site is in a great location for a few minutes walk down the road to the Morrisons and the Aldi. There's a KFC, café within Morrisons and an independent café and one in the garden centre. Alternatively, you can walk into town and we found a really good Bangladeshi restaurant in half an hour walk.
We would be very happy to go to the site again, particularly if the showers were updated.
Chill staying experience
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Quiet campsite even though it's close to a main road. Our pitch is enclosed and it's very cozy. Besides, there are a couple of super stores nearby within walking space. Overall we have a very pleasant camping experience.
Small and very friendly site
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 This site may be a little in need of a facelift but I couldn’t fault the cleanliness or the facilities. The shower ( at 20 pence for 5 minutes) was great. Nicely laid out so your clothes and shoes don’t get wet and loads of hot water at just the right temperature
Brilliant walking from the bottom of the campsite. I particularly enjoyed exploring Borthwood Copse. Morrisons supermarket is just a short walk away as is the pub.
Emma and her team couldn’t have been more helpful even finding an adapter for my hose so I could get water easily
I thought the site was underpriced with EHU and water available from my large pitch. The internet was good too.
I would definitely stay again and highly recommend this for anyone seeking a peaceful, laid back, relaxing break.
Good value site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Good site for the price paid, cannot complain. Should put prices up slightly as seems a little too cheap for a pitch with electric hook up.
Quaint quiet campsite
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Mar 2026 Lovely campsite with a quaint pub on site with some good food options and ability to order local takeaway deliveries, which was a bonus. Live band, which was a great touch one night, shame not on both evenings over the weekend.
Some lighting around the pitches would be a good idea as a night walking to the toilets etc felt more lighting was required
Homely informal camping
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Oct 2025 Very friendly staff at this pleasant, relaxed, spacious camping site. Lacking the strict formality of some campsites, it's made for a more relaxed, informal feel.
The pitches were generous, the toilets and showers clean and tidy, and perfect for a few days stay.
The bus stop was just 200 yds from the entrance, making it easy to get into Sandown, Ryde and Newport. It was also useful that they were still open in October when many other campsite had closed for the season.
I would gladly return for another stay!
Pleasant enough
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Site was pleasant enough, pretty quite at times. Good walks for my doggies. Shower and toilets were kept clean rubbish taken away swiftly.
Ideal for a stopover or a base to see local amenities.
Very reasonable
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Lovely welcome offering lots of advice, level pitch with electric 15pound which I thought was very reasonable.
20 pence's needed for shower but well worth it only needing the one, washing machine and dryer available and washing up facilities, bus stop was just a small walk down the road.
Would definitely return, thank you for the stay.

Great site in a great location!
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 I love to camp and must say this is one of the better sites I've stayed at. The pitch was a great size and the facilities were basic, but just what you need.
Despite the site being relatively full, there was never a queue for the facilities. All in one central location, there were separate washing up facilities, separate access to drinking water, toilets and cubicled sinks for the morning teeth and hair brushing. There was a small play park, conveniently placed in a central area and adjacent the facilities.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and were always around the site, so easily accessible if required.
The site was in a great location for a walk to the supermarket, local pub and was just a 30min walk / short bus journey to Sandown Beach.
(I gave: four stars, not five for location as the walk to the bus stop is a rocky path and not suitable for all users. Four stars, not five for the facilities as the showers were 20p and we had to get change and four stars, not five for cleanliness as the door to the toilet was left open overnight and I am not a fan of the moths that had gathered in the toilet block).
Would highly recommend and will visit again.
Perfect for couples
Camping Pod - Camping Pod Jun 2025 My wife and I recently stayed at this beautiful campsite, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The location was absolutely stunning, providing a peaceful and serene escape. The weather was perfect during our stay, and the temperature inside our pod was just right, allowing us to sleep soundly without the need for heating.
The shower was great too, hot water with only about 20 pence to operate it, which made it incredibly convenient. The toilets were clean and functional, and the instructions for check-in were clear, making the whole process seamless.
Overall, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend this campsite for anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable glamping experience. We’ll definitely be returning!

Walk to Morrison's or Aldi, no 8 bus into Sandown, short drive to zoo and other attractions.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2024 This was our very first time using a campervan and visiting a site of this type. A very good site, which welcomed our two dogs. It had great sized plots, which were easily identified. The person at the reception desk was very kind and helpful, as this was our first camping experience.
Would recommend this site, it was very clean and well looked after.

A gem of a site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024 This site is fantastic and I'm disappointed I've never been and used it before. Ideally located for lots of island attractions and amenities.
Friendly staff team who were most accommodating. Next time we head to the island, we will definitely be booking a pitch here again.
