Superb campsite

A gem of a campsite especially for older campers. Surrounded by trees. Excellent toilet and shower facilities. Even a freezer in the pot washing room! A really helpful couple in charge. Thank you Alan and Debbie. We will be back next year to explore more of Dartmoor.

Peaceful

So glad this is adult only. From the start, you receive a warm welcome to a tranquil relaxing and peaceful site. The atmosphere eases you into your holiday. Facilities are spotless and mobile catering, Monday was fish and chips, Friday BBQ. Brilliant, will be returning and highly recommend.

Such a clean site

First of all, you are greeted by the owners who are so lovely and helpful. It's a gated access with a fob and £10 cash left for a deposit, our pitch was lovely and big, the toilets and showers are so clean. There is a washing up facility as well, which is very clean and tidy, the owners really look after this site. It's very peaceful and we were lucky to see an eagle and sitting on a fence. We visited a few places during our stay. There is a pub 20 minutes away by foot selling lovely food. I would stay here again, it's very nice.

Wonderful campsite, would 100% recommend!

We stayed at this campsite for two nights and it was absolutely lovely, wonderful and accommodating, and the area was amazing.

Lovely location, really relaxing

Lovely site, lovely owners, great service. Only 2 negatives for us, nowhere on site to let the dogs off the lead, although there is a bridleway at the end of the track (not somewhere I wanted to walk late at night of course) so not a major problem, just our springers like to do 'their business' off lead - country boys 🤣🤣🤣. Second issue, the track leading up to the site is rough and uneven, likely worse for us as it seems the damper on our van packed up and the potholes really didn't help.

We stayed 7 nights

We booked 7 nights and enjoyed everything about this touring park. The toilet facilities were excellent and very clean. It is adults only, which suited me and my wife, and it is also dog friendly and yes, very quiet. Thank you.

First time stopover

Wanted a good site to test our new van and this site did not disappoint. Quiet, well laid out with fabulous shower and toilet block. Lovely walk to a super local pub as well. Overall, an excellent site.

A quality touring site

This is a great little touring site. The facilities are spotlessly clean. The site is well maintained with good size pitches. The owners are really friendly and made us feel welcome. The site is a short walk from the Claycutters Arms which also provides a warm welcome good beer and quality food. It’s a 1.5 mile walk in to Bovey Tracey where there are local shops, restaurants and pubs. Well worth a visit.

Short stay

A lovely, well laid out site. Excellent facilities and spotlessly clean. A warm welcome at reception and only £26 for the night. The only drawback were the potholes on the approach lane that could do with attention, but would happily stay again.

Thank you for giving us a great review. It is really appreciated and means so much to Allan & I I understand the concern about the track leading to the campsite. We don't own the track. It is owned by a mining company who subleases the surrounding land including the track to a charity. We have asked permission to tarmac the road but the charity has refused. We continually fill in potholes with road planning. This has to be done when there is dry weather. Of late we haven't had any and in fact we had a months rain in 6 hours last week. We are hoping to meet with the charity CEO over the winter to see if we can get the decision changed. We will continue to maintain the track and through most of the season, the track is fine.
