Nestled by the beach close to Berwick upon Tweed on the beautiful Northumbrian coast, the area around Pot-a-Doodle-Do boasts spectacular coastal scenery. Enjoy all the comforts of glamping with cosy wooden cabins and you'll be spoilt for choice with the array of activities on site. We have fully accessible cabins aswell as standard. There's a licensed bistro, pottery painting studio and children's play park all at your fingertips.

About the site


A peaceful space on the coast, this glamping site is ideally suited for those who love the great outdoors and want to be at one with nature. It holds onto a warm, family friendly atmosphere and also welcomes dogs as part of that family. If you bring a four-legged friend with you there's a beautiful beach beside the site where you can walk for miles and tire the dog out before settling down for the evening. On site there is a total of 30 wooden Cabins. Most of these sleep up to five people and there are four that can comfortably sleep three. We have two ensuites with shower rooms. They also have a TV for your comfort. We also have three fully accessible cabins which are wheelchair friendly and they have a mini kitchen and a wet room for showering. They all have electricity in them with a fridge, kettle and panel heater. So that you can sleep in comfort they have a bench type seating area with thick foam mattresses - and this easily converts into a wall to wall sleeping area. Guests must bring their own bedding and towels. Top of the Cabin selection is the deluxe ensuite known as The Grand Canyon with its own kitchen and private shower facilities, ideal for those who like their own space and prefer not to share facilities. There's even a small patio and chairs so that you can admire the incredible views while you eat breakfast, and early risers can watch the sunrise. This cabin has the best views of the site looking over to the lighthouse at Berwick upon Tweed and the Tweed estuary. We have three BBQ huts on site. These are perfect for groups and families and friends. With a charcoal BBQ in the centre and seating area around its perfect to cook your meal and then sit with a drink or two which relaxing and socialising. Campfires can be arranged, too, so you can sit outside and look up at the stars while toasting marshmallows. Guests must bring with them their own bedding, towels and toiletries, washing-up supplies (bowl, sponge and washing-up liquid) Pots, pans and utensils are provided in the fully equipped communal kitchen. There is also a toilet and shower block on site for all to use. There are four shower units each with a toilet, wash hand basin and shower with a large bench area- perfect for families wanting to shower youngsters. There are hair driers in the ladies toilets area. The communal kitchen area is fully equipped to prepare, cook and eat a meal or you can take it back to your cabin. There is seating area in there for you to enjoy as couples, families or as a group.

Facilities include a 24 hour communal kitchen with TV and shower block, coin operated laundry facilities and driers. There are BBQ huts for hire on site and a licensed cafe/bistro serving breakfast and lunch to guests. The restaurant on site serves Full Borewell breakfasts from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. daily along with hearty sausage or bacon rolls, fruity pancakes and much more.

Free WiFi is available. Golf and watersports can be accessed in the area.

There's an activity centre on site, interactive art studio and a country shop which sells local produce, homemade jams and chutneys, treats, gifts and essentials such as toiletries. Nearby there is a fishing lake.

Two ensuite wigwams with their own shower room, toilet and wash basin. The ensuites are also equipped with a TV/DVD player. Please bring your own bedding and towels. Sorry, no pets.

Yes, up to two small dogs are welcome in each pet friendly wigwam, provided they are kept on a lead whilst onsite and well-supervised. A dog friendly beach is just a short walk from the site.

Check-in is from 3pm and you must check-out of your glamping accommodation before 10am on your final day.

We all love our site. Our daughter got married here. We love to welcome guests back time and again and many have been coming for over 10years now!

We have beautiful views from the site and it is always a pleasure to be working there to make the most memorable stays for our guests.

Things to do on site and in the Berwick-Upon-Tweed area

On site there's plenty of entertainment from pottery painting and children's play area. We serve breakfasts in our restaurant. We also serve light lunches, coffees and cakes and afternoon teas. Grab a bite at the restaurant before heading out for a day's trout fishing, walking or beachcombing. We also serve home cooked Sunday lunches every Sunday. Home cooked roasts at their best!

The pottery painting studio is open daily however you must book a one hour session with a £10 deposit to secure your sitting. Right here on your doorstep and you can come in and personalise your own piece of pottery. There's something for everyone in the studio and it's suitable for all ages and abilities. A great way to get the family bonding or for groups to start to get to know each other.

With views of Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands what better place to go walking? Stroll along the beach and spot for local wildlife. A number of beautiful walking trails start at the farm and maps of the walks are sold within the farm shop.

Chain Bridge Honey Farm is a four mile drive from the site and is a great place to visit for adults and children alike.

Holy Island is a very popular place to visit and it is daily cut off from the rest of the county by tidal waters so you have to check the timetable to be able to get over. Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Castle which is famous for being part of the Harry Potter films.

There are also famous gardens at Alnwick too with the famous water fountains and the Poison Garden. Boats go out daily from Seahouses to the Farne Islands where you can see puffins and seals on the islands.

The site is a 45 minute train ride from Edinburgh, which is stuffed with great day out activities, particularly if the weather has gone downhill. Get lost in the Scottish National Gallery amongst the masterpieces, or adults can get carried away on the Scotch Whisky Experiences, which tells the tale of this Scottish icon and includes a barrel ride.

Berwick upon Tweed is famous for its Elizabethan Walls and it is a beautiful walk around the town walls to imagine gunshot from the canons and look out at the wild North Sea.
