The campsite was stunning and you get a huge pitch with loads of space between pitches. It’s so quiet and peaceful there. There are portaloos for the camping area which were clean but ran out of toilet roll over night and only one had soap all weekend. The outdoor showers were great and better than the indoor one at the tea room. You have to park your car in car park and then they’ll quad bike all your stuff to your pitch and the guys were lovely and blew up our beds for us too. Will definitely be back.

Lovely campsite, kind and welcoming staff. Great location, no cars allowed on the camping pictures, making the field very picturesque. Will be coming back!

Pleasant location but for price there should be more facilities e.g. more showers and toilets. Cafe very slow service but helpful staff. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Maps of local walks would be beneficial and somewhere to get rid of grey waste.
Excellent site, will definitely return

Beautiful site with friendly staff. Sits right on the canal with a lovely bar and cafe where we enjoyed home made pizzas on site - simply delicious. A little remote but that adds to its tranquillity.

Perfect set up for taking young children solo, toilets, showers and food and drink available, metres away from the tent, with everything you need for comfortable stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially when my eldest's plane landed in a neighbouring field, they came to the rescue! We can't wait to come back.

Lovely little site, very well kept and all the facilities that you need. It was just a brief, 1-night stay as a treat for my grandson, but we enjoyed visiting the café, looking at the barges in the marina and wandering along the canal. We didn't venture off site but enjoyed a peaceful evening cooking a BBQ and playing games in the awning.

Stayed in our campervan for 2 nights. Lovely site, small field just for 5 vans/motorhomes with hook up and tap. Nice location on the marina. Lovely walks on the canal. Nearest pub about 20 minutes up the canal serving good food. Would definitely visit again.

We would recommend this campsite and we will be going back again. One nice thing about it was it wasn't crowded at all. Each group get their own plot and the plots are very spaced out. Fire pits were great too. Good facilities.

Had a lovely stay at Oakwood Marina, plenty of room on the pitches and level. Clean facilities. The marina, with its array of canal boats, is an added interest. There is a café on site which looks popular, though I didn't use it. It was a peaceful stay, it was not very busy while I was there. I loved the way they only cut the amount of grass needed for pitching and leave the rest long for nature, spot on 👍🏻

Very lovely site, nice café with very reasonable prices. Campsite was nice and clean. Quite private too. There was a quad service that took luggage if site was a bit far which is lovely. Nice surroundings and good parking facility. Only 1 'proper' toilet male and female. Otherwise, it's portaloos - some in poor condition but that is due to the campers! Not the actual site. May benefit from a bigger block of facilities. May be nice to have recycling facilities!
Site's response
Thank you so much for your feedback! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our café, found the campsite clean and private, and appreciated the quad service for luggage transport. We also wanted to let you know that we do have a separate mixed recycling bin on-site, and all general waste is sorted and recycled by our waste partner, Ash Waste. We’re continually working to improve our facilities, and your suggestions about having a larger block of facilities are noted. Thank you for helping us enhance the experience for all our guests!

Really great site, we only had a flying, 1 night visit but loved the little converted boat bar and the pizza's looked delicious - was nice to be able to have a drink by the canal. We were attending the Happy Place festival at Tatton Park which was only 15 min drive from here, so a perfect location for what we needed.
Site's response
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your brief stay with us and that the converted boat bar and pizzas made your visit special. It's great to know our location was convenient for your trip to the Happy Place festival. We hope you had a fantastic time at the festival and look forward to welcoming you back for a longer stay in the future!

Great stay. Loved breakfast at the on-site café and a drink in the barge pub. Shower was great - power good and lots of hot water but there was a drain smell. Reception was great but not very clearly marked, so didn't spot it at first. It's a shame we didn't get to try the on-site pizzas as they ran out!

Great view and excellent service. Well-designed park with a lot of clear guidance, easy access to a washing facility. The car park is far from the tent location, but staff kindly delivered our goods to our pitch and back.

This was out first bell tent glamping trip. Location was easy to find. Greeted warmly on our arrival, and nice chap ran our stuff to the tent. We enjoyed our walk around the site and the boat pub and pizza. Only room for improvement would be a few more flushing loos! We would recommend though and would love to return.

Booked simply as a local location to test new tent out with the kids. We had a single night stay, but could happily have stayed a few nights. What an extremely lucky find! Wonderfully friendly and super helpful staff. The pizza and lemon garlic butter tiger prawns were delicious. We are so close will and hopefully drop back just for our tea, for a nice evening.

Fabulous place for a camp not too far from home. Excellent service from arrival greeted by friendly staff explaining how it works. Camping fields a good walk away from car park but service of trailers to put all your camping gear in and take to your pitch. Washing up area clean. Outdoor showers excellent and portaloos near camping fields clean. Showers by tearooms quite flooded and only used once, outdoor shower huts were much better. Tearooms breakfasts absolutely delicious as well as scones. We tried pizzas on site they were delicious, highly recommend to try. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and are definitely going to book to camp again.

The reception was warm and friendly. The site is immaculately kept. How the staff manage to keep even the portaloos clean is testament to their attention to detail. The setting is spectacular with views over open country down to the canal with boats chugging by frequently. The tent pitches have got to be the biggest we have ever seen! The only downside turned out to be a plus point as well. Cars and other vehicles have to be left in the car park near reception. Your luggage is transported to your designated pitch for you and collected and delivered to your vehicle when you leave. The result is a quiet pitch but requiring a walk of 200 yards or more to the reception/cafe area. The prices for drinks and food in the cafe/shop were very reasonable. Would we come again? Yes, definitely!

So much space, great amenities, terrific bar and pizza stall. We booked for proximity to Tatton Flower Show. What a find! This will be our first choice halfway house from Scotland to the South Coast. One of the best sites we've ever visited between John o' Groats and Tuscany!
