Medium Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Apr 2026 We had a great stay at Laneside and would recommend.
Pros: great location; so easy to find! Lots of lovely walks around, next to some great pubs/restaurants/shops etc. everything you need. There's a site cafe / shop etc but did not use. Smelled lovely though in the morning. The price was excellent. The pitches were very large and the electricity worked perfectly. We stayed in the adults only section so it was really nice and quiet. Some lovely friendly dogs around the day hello to. You could feel the presence of staff around which was nice incase you needed to ask a question. Really nice stay!
Cons: of course, not everywhere is perfect. The caravan park is right next to a really busy main road. All night, all you could hear was cars racing up and down (50 mph road), but some earplugs will help sort that out! There's no soap anywhere, I feel that for the cost, some hand soap in the toilets could be provided really. Also, the dryers are outside of the toilet (I understand it's probably a cost thing) but annoying to close the toilet door when someone's wet hands have just been touching them. I like the private sinks for getting ready, but maybe some hand tissues inside as an option could be considered (not very sustainable I know). For the tents right in the middle perhaps a more provide fence could be put up as sometimes you feel all eyes are on you (not to disrupt the parking but just from the side / behind where the current fences are).
In general a great stay, I recommend bringing some earplugs. You get a nice map when you arrive to help you navigate and the noise out by 10:30 is good so everyone has time to rest. I liked the washing up facilities and dog parking - cute touches like that make a difference. We had a 10m cord for electric and was plenty enough. I would like to return, thanks for a lovely stay.
Glorious stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Apr 2026 We had a really lovely time staying at the campsite. Facilities were amazingly clean, great location and friendly staff onsite to help! It is also a great location with the walking distance to pubs and shops and a great location to go off exploring the Peak District and attractions nearby. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Brilliant Recommends site

Caravan holiday Recommends site
Dec 2025 This family run campsite is in a well located spot for a quiet and relaxing break, the camp is well looked after.
Clean, tidy shower rooms and toilets are very clean, the pitches are well maintained. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough to help.
Highly recommend if someone wants a nice quiet relaxation.
One of the best sites we have stayed on Recommends site
Dec 2025 One of the best sites we have stayed on. Staff are super helpful and really friendly, the toilet/shower blocks are outstanding, the whole site is clean and tidy.
Dog friendly with a lovely large dog walk area, a 5 minute walk to a lovely village with cafes/shop/pubs, great walking, there's nothing not to like about this site, we will return again.
Great site in fab location Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Nov 2025 Wonderful stay, great location, staff and facilities.
Lovely stay next to the river Recommends site
Shepherd's Hut - Jack's Ensuite Shepherd's Hut (Dog Friendly) Oct 2025 Brilliant Shepherds Hut with fantastic home from home facilities. Plenty of storage for such a small unit.
We had a delightful stay and will be back!
A lovely, scenic location Recommends site
Oct 2025 This is our second stay at Laneside. Beautiful location by the river Noa with great facilities.
Our first stay was in the shepherds hut, this time we rented a caravan. Very clean and cosy. Both accommodations are dog friendly. Staff are so pleasant and helpful.
They provided a fridge freezer in the awning at my request at no additional cost. Nothing is too much trouble. There is always someone available if you need anything. We will return next year.
Laneside Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Oct 2025 A great stay, peaceful and quiet.
Good amenities that were clean and in a good condition.
Great site Recommends site
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches (Adult Only) Oct 2025 Great site. I was working in Sheffield, so easy commute into the city, as the site is virtually opposite the train station.
Great walks from the site too. Only slight negative was road noise, so if you were sat outside in the summer that might put you off, but I'm sure if you had a pitch on the other side of the site you'd barely notice it.
Loved it. Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches (Adult Only) Sep 2025 A lovely site.
Clean and well looked after, with lovely friendly owners.
Last minute break away Recommends site
Sep 2025 It was a last minute break away due to weather looking nice. Booking was very easy to understand and complete. The check in was very quickly done when we arrived and all the pitch's look well kept.
The showers were clean and hot especially the new shower block. Plenty in the area to do, we walked up Mam Tor then up Cave Dale and also visited Pevril Castle. Plenty of places to eat and drink in Hope and nearby Castleton.
All the staff were very friendly and all together a great break away.
The site made our weekend! Recommends site
Medium Tent - Medium Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 We chose one of the wettest weekends to go camping, but the campsite made the trip worth it.
The bar and chip van were an added bonus and couldn’t be happier with the cleanliness of the show block.
We’ll be back, just hopefully with better weather.
Excellent Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Sep 2025 Beautiful clean campsite in a wonderful location for anyone loving the outdoor life.
Fantastic site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches (Adult Only) Sep 2025 We enjoyed our stay. The site was very tidy, the facilities were excellent, and the staff were very friendly.
The site is very close to the local village 'Hope' for pub lunches etc and there was a fish and chip van and a bar onsite on Saturday. There are nice walks and lots to do in the area.
We will be back!

Large Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Sep 2025 Loved our stay here. Excellent facilities which were spotless.
On site shop was useful. Owners were welcoming and helpful.
Brilliant Stay at Laneside Recommends site
Large Tent - Large Non Electric Grass Pitch Sep 2025 This was our first time camping, we were met at the entrance and was taken to our campsite and they explained the best way to park to utilise the space which was appreciated. The staff explained how the site worked, best places to go and the rules for the site. Everything was explained in full and we went on our way. The site was spotless, the toilets and showers were clean and had everything you need including a hair dryer.
There was a pup washing station which was cute. The location was perfect, Hope Village had a lovely pub and the service there was lovely. Castleton was lovely, a little bigger than Hope. There is a Spar in Hope which sells everything you may need however, there is a shop on site which is really reasonably priced.
The site was a quiet one, but very friendly everyone was pleasant. We would definitely visit again, perfectly located to explore the peaks.
Perfect spot Recommends site
Sep 2025 Superb caravan and campsite set in idyllic surroundings. Run by a hardworking and dedicated team with a great sense of humour. Toilets and shower blocks kept incredibly clean. Well stocked shop and laundry on site. Views to Win Hill with plenty of hiking and mountain biking from the doorstep.
Our stay Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2025 This was the first time staying at Laneside. caravan park. The facilities was first class very clean friendly people.
The staff who greeted us on arrival was very pleasant and explained everything in detail to us. There was plenty to do in the area too. Lovely dog walking area and pleasant surroundings too.
Well managed site with good facilities Recommends site
Aug 2025 We stayed at Laneside for the Hope Valley beer festival, on a large pitch with electric hook-up. It was a level, roomy pitch close to most of the facilities. Showers and toilets were well maintained and accessible - no queuing, even on the bank holiday.
Staff were friendly and helpful and there were various options for food, dependent on the day (e.g. a very good fish and chip van on the Saturday evening, weekend breakfast, Pie van on Friday.
Easy walk to Hope and Castleton. There is also a pretty well-stocked shop on site.
We liked the quiet site arrangement after 10.30, sharing a nightcap and catching up on our reading (and aiding recovery after a day of walking and beer drinking).
Very noisy pitch, next to very busy road Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding Pitches (Adult Only) Aug 2025 Absolutely lovely site with great facilities in a great location and very organised on arrival.
However, the pitch we were allocated was literally less than 5 feet from a very noisy and very busy road. Only a small wall and fence between the pitch and road. As a result, we couldn't hear ourselves think at times and had 2 very sleepless nights as constantly woken by roaring exhausts, air brakes and large lorries rumbling!
We couldn't see any mention of the noisy road or a heads up when making the booking or we certainly would not have booked it. Yes, we did book last minute and obviously got allocated the only pitch that was left, so we didn't expect the best pitch but would have preferred some advance warning about the road. What should have been a lovely relaxing few days in our VW Camper was far from it when we were on site. 2 sleepless nights instead!
Such a shame as some of the areas on site were tranquil and very quiet and the site itself is beautiful. Our pitch was F20 for reference.
Loved it Recommends site
Large Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Easy to book with good communication from start. Easy to understand arrival instructions.
We were taken to our pitch which was spacious enough for vehicle and tent. There is a specific way to park vehicle and put tent so you are not crammed in. Campsite busy with range of ages but everyone was pleasant that we met/were near. Great facilities, toilets and showers clean and well maintained. Even got a bathing area for dog!
Little shop on-site but did not visit. Great bar and different foods available (butty van Sat and Sun morning), Mexican Fri night and pork sarnies Sat night. Great little dog walk field and lots of walks nearby.
Hope is a five mins walk away with pubs, café and Indian. Further afield you've got Castleton, Hathersage etc. This place reminded us why we love camping and we will definitely back!
It is a bit more pricey than some but worth it in our opinion.
Well maintained Recommends site
Medium Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Aug 2025 Site is well maintained, plenty of space, toilets were being cleaned early (9-11) which was a bit of a pain, although 2 blocks made it hard and hard to wait for Shower/toilet.
Site is located 5 mins walk from Hope, nice pubs and discount available at one of them.
We were located on the road side. However, the noise throughout the night from the trucks travelling to and from the nearby quarry site was rather tiresome.
Overall a nice site, would recommend to others but be aware directly on main road and can be very noisy.
