Clean, quiet campsite perfect for a relaxing time away

Visited this campsite for the first time this weekend (mid April). The weather wasn’t kind to us but the campsite made up for it. We were greeted warmly at reception and shown directly to our pitch with information leaflets for hot food and WiFi information. The field down by the river has a lovely view where we were blessed with a beautiful sunset, and is nice and flat for parking up. The facilities were very clean and tidy with equipment to clean up after ourselves. It was also lovely and warm in the bathrooms and showers which helped when visiting in the colder months. During the night the campsite is quiet and calm so it is easy to get a good nights sleep. Would definitely visit again in the future.

Loved it!

Great site, really friendly and helpful owners and staff. Warm, clean toilet and shower facilities, including piped music! Washing up and laundry rooms were very good. Well worth the visit and distance travelled to a very well run site. Only minor complaint would be some noisy neighbours late at night, but that's down to inconsiderate people, nothing to do with the site itself?

Easter weekend.

Though it was an Easter weekend there was not a lot of children around, but the ones that were there were quit. The staff were very friendly, always said hello.

Wonderful site

We went for a long weekend out of season. So peaceful, very clean and well kept. Good facilities, I will definitely visit again!

Great campsite

Just had a few days here and had a great time. The campsite is well maintained, lovely heated shower and toilets, with music playing. Great dog shower. We camped by the river which was lovely. Nice pub for tea in Peter Tavy about a 25 minutes walk. Tavistock about a 40 minutes walk or bus stop near campsite.

Perfect pitch

We stayed here for a long weekend. My partner, her mom, our daughter and of course our lab, Diamond. We found the place to be very clean, quiet and well laid out. Our pitch was the perfect size for our 8.4 mtr motorhome, which we parked across the pitch, giving us a little private area to sit in. My partner uses a powerchair and she found the facilities perfect for wheelchair use. The only real problem was the disabled shower. The shower head is fixed and when turned on, you have to become friendly with the wall, as you need to get close to it to be under the hower. There is a great kids play area that our daughter loved, keeping her happy for ages before tea, and they have a games room, although we didn't get time to check it out.

Very good and will return

A bit out of the way, but there is a request bus stop at the top of the road on the bridge. Half hour walk to the Peter Tavy Inn - you need to book - very good food. Well kept site. Facilities were ok - bit dated, but clean enough and warm. Lovely play area for children. Small shop on site for essentials and a very good games room with pool table, table football, books etc. Not overly friendly on reception which was a shame, but coming to the end of the season, so perhaps it can't come soon enough for them!

Wonderful site, fantastic welcome

Wonderful couple of nights camping by the river with a lovely warm welcome from the wardens who are simply lovely. Perfect setting - peaceful with the only sound being the river running right next to our tent. Facilities all spotlessly clean - great showers etc. Very welcoming of dogs and the site has its own separate files for exercising dogs off lead. Close to the lovely town of Tavistock and a good pub in Peter Tavy. Great for walks on Dartmoor too. We will definitely be back - many times!

Great site - well organised - well run

We were really pleased from the moment we arrived. The reception from the staff was first rate and the initial appearance of the site was excellent. As we moved to our pitch, it became apparent that we had been given a great pitch near the river, not too far from the facilities and not cheek by jowl with hoards of screaming children. We had a fabulous few days, helped along by a strangely sunny bank holiday weekend. My only gripe is that the facilities are a little tired but at the same time, spotlessly clean. I would also have expected there to have been more than one set of facilities but having said that, I never found them overcrowded, so what do I know? Sadly, we had to leave 2 nights early as rain was forecast and our tent is TC and 57kgs dry! Trying to lift a wet tent and then dry it once home does not bear thinking about. However, that was our decision and will not put us off coming back again. We will happily recommend this site to anyone who's prepared to listen to us. Oh, by the way, one real bonus was the take away food stall, Peckish (next to reception and the shop). Available Friday and Saturday (pre-ordering by the Harford Bridge app makes this so easy), it's lovely to give cooking a rest now and then and treat yourselves to some very tasty grub.

Very good

A few issues. Hand dryer not working, ladies toilets. Fresh tap water points-definite plus! Pitch was a tad unkempt. The takeaway can service is only a available on Friday and Saturday - not much use to a mid week stay.

The problem with the hand-dryer in the ladies' toilets, has now been sorted by our maintenance team. We are sorry that you found the pitch unkempt. Being located within Dartmoor National Park, we have a strong wildlife ethos and the hedges do not get cut during the bird nesting season. This does come with challenges as we strive to operate along that fine line of keeping pitches clear and birds happy. Our team of gardeners are now fully occupied cutting the hedging back now that the nesting season is over. We are sorry that you were disappointed not to be able to make use of our food van "Peckish", but we have found from experience that we do not have the demand to make it viable to open during the week. We appreciate your review and hope that we have answered your comments. We do hope that we can welcome you back to Harford Bridge Park in the future.

Beautiful site

Fantastic facilities. Immaculate site. Very spacious pitches. Quiet friendly site located in beautiful surroundings. Immaculate bathrooms with great facilities. Dog grooming room with heated shower and grooming station. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Small shop with a few basic items. I would suggest bringing what you need ahead of time. There's a free family games room. This has games tables, huge tv and books and board games. There's a dog walking field and walks. Lots of space for children to ride bikes and run around. Excellent site with fab disabled bathroom. Ideal for couples, families with young children and older adults. Very tranquil and relaxing place.

Good location, fun and clean

Great location for Dartmoor and the kids loved splashing in the river. Facilities were always clean. Pitch was ok, in a great location for the river but a but bumpy and far for small children to walk to toilets.

We were surprised and sorry that you found the pitch a little lumpy, we've not had anyone mention this before. The toilet blocks a bit far for little ones, but it's a popular area for those that like to be away from it all. We hope to see you again in the future - hopefully next time we can get you a bit nearer the facilities.

Perfect little campsite

Lovely campsite with friendly staff and clean and convenient facilities. We would absolutely book again, there's plenty to explore nearby.

Fantastic for so many reasons

Fantastic site. Lovely staff especially Dolly and Dougie. Large pitches. Relaxed atmosphere. Super clean and imaginative facilities. Easy walk into Tavistock via a pub 😉 then bus back. They have loads of diff accommodation on site suiting everyone I would think. Will definitely be back.

Excellent!

Stunning campsite, with excellent service from the staff. Facilities are 5* and kept incredibly clean. Play area is also very good and plenty of room between pitches.

Camping pleasure

Really made to feel welcome. Have medical issues and the staff went out of their way to make our stay problem free. I can honestly say that this is the best site we've stayed on and would highly recommend. 10/10.

Great stay

Superb little site! Arrived recently for our stay of just 2 nights lovely staff to assist our check in and took us down to the pitch, terrific well presented and well maintained site. Facilities are plentiful and extremely clean and well looked after. We all enjoyed time down by the river edge where a little paddle in the water was refreshing for the feet. Pitches were well maintained with lovely lush short grass and nice and flat, flat enough for our 4 year old to try her bike without stabilisers and she cracked it. Without doubt we would return to this site and hopefully it remains in good hands in the future.

Wonderful stay

First time at the Harford Bridge park, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. Easy to get to and within close proximity to the lovely town of Tavistock and Dartmoor. Our check-in was perfect and the staff are helpful, friendly and welcoming. The park is well maintained and facilities are scrupulously clean. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Harford Bridge Park.

Lovely campsite, friendly helpful staff

Very friendly staff on this site including a member of staff showing us to our plot. We had a grass plot with no hook-up but was nice to have an actual reserved plot, rather than parking randomly. Showers and toilets very clean, and music is a bonus! Lovely campsite, friendly helpful staff, very clean showers and toilets (with music). Nice to have a reserved plot and not just random parking. Would definitely return and recommend this site.

A real gem of a campsite, friendly staff , big pitches. We had a river front pitch which was lovely . Great location for walks to local pubs and longer hiking up on Dartmoor. Tennis rackets and balls provided free of charge from reception. Family came along and had a pitch next to us and also had a lovely time. I plan to return at some point.

Nice bear the riverside

We preferred a spot next to the river. When we booked, it wasn't available anymore. Too bad. When we arrived, there was a spot free. Is it not available because of the price difference?

While we would have been more than happy to offer an upgrade to a Grass Riverside Pitch with Electric upon arrival, please note that these pitches do carry a slightly higher rate.

Great site

We had a great stay just for one night but we will definitely return for longer. It is such a lovely site in a wonderful location. The lady who was zipping around the park was very welcoming.. The shower and toilet block was so clean and all in good working order.
