Sprinter-Type Campervan - Campervan Hardstanding/Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Apr 2026

My first time staying at Budle Bay and I was so impressed. The campsite is spacious and peaceful. The facilities were very clean and receptionist warm and welcoming. I was travelling by myself and felt completely safe. Thank you for a great stay. I’ll be back.

Nice clean site - good welcome and information on arrival

VW-Type Campervan - Medium Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Apr 2026

Easy to find, nice welcome on arrival, good site information and map. Facilities were nice and clean, water heater for showers had broken but fixed immediately after Easter when people went back to work. There is a barrier for extra site security. Site was clean, well laid out and the food hut cooked nice take away style snack food well. There is also a small shop selling basics that we didn't use but probably as good as the rest of the site. Went with family and we were placed close together rather than scattered. Nice site and a good base for beaches and castles in the area. Weather was nice as well but site can't claim that but it added to a good Easter break.

Excellent location

VW-Type Campervan - Campervan Hardstanding/Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Apr 2026

Excellent location, friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. The only problem we had for our stay was there was no hot water, they did say they were waiting on a plumber.

Ok

VW-Type Campervan - Campervan Hardstanding/Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Apr 2026

Handy spot and staff are nice and hardworking, but facilities weren't that great and site felt crowded. Loved all the recycling and nearby pizza van. Shame about lack of hot water (something wrong at the time).

Medium Tent - XL Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Apr 2026

Campsite was very nic, everything available only a few minutes walk from a beach and minutes to Bamburgh. Plot for tent was not good. It was on a slope groundwater also very soft so ground pegs did not stay in place. Would use again but on a different plot.

Disappointed

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Medium Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Apr 2026

Disappointed ☹️ Felt very expensive for the services provided. Shower block old and out of date, showers were cold. Camping field a mud track through the middle, camper vans getting stuck. Over crowded. Save your money, I feel there's much nicer sites in the area for less money.

Quite relaxing campsite

Motorhome - Large Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Mar 2026

Lovely site just 2 miles from Bamburgh with clean shower and toilet block. There was 16 amp electric hook up, small shop for bits and bobs, hardstanding or grass pitches with some lovely glamping pods for hire. Dogs are welcome on a lead of course, but please bring a torch, as no lighting around pitches. On the plus side an excellent pizza hut next door, you must try their dessert pizzas such as Nutella or banoffee pizza.

Good level pitch and full range of services (water and waste etc). Good location, walking distance from Bamburgh. Nice and quiet at night. Would use again if in the area.

Motorhome - Standard Plus Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Dec 2025

We stayed for 1 night, first time out in our motorhome. Friendly staff. You will need a torch very dark, lol. Everything is signed posted, also get a little map of site. Toilet/shower blocks very clean. We didn't venture out anywhere as it was lashing down. Will be back in the summer to do some stargazing. I can imagine how amazing the stars will look. Thanks, Karen 😊

Great location but the site needs a lot of work

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Standard Plus Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Nov 2025

Great location but feel the site needs a lot of work to get it to an acceptable standard. This is a great location from which to explore the area. However, the site itself is very disappointing. The pictures look great, however the site is very run down and the facilities were dirty. There is a lot of repair work ongoing across the site which appears to have been ongoing in an ad-hoc fashion for some time, with piles of gravel timber, old derelict caravans etc across the site. It might be an ok site when they get the work finished and clean the facilities but in the meantime, I would advise keeping clear.

Nice site

VW-Type Campervan - Campervan Hardstanding/Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Oct 2025

The site was fine, friendly staff and owner was nice. I did struggle to get hold of the office to begin with, as we booked as a last minute stop over, but I think the office is closed during lunch periods. The shower rooms are basic and clean, but smelled a bit mouldy and the toilet area was fine and clean enough. I had to hold the shower tap on for ages to wait for it to warm up but it did get hotter and stayed a nice temperature. There was a few spiders in the outside sheltered washing up area, but the sinks were clean. I think after they do some more work it will be a nice site to come back to in the future, as we loved the area and the beach looks very nice, which was around 7 minutes drive away.

Motorhome - Standard Plus Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Oct 2025

We were going to be late due to traffic. I rang the site & receptionist waited for us to arrive to show us our pitch. Facilities were spotless, good stock of goods in the site shop. Staff very helpful. Pitches were a great size, plenty of grass per hard standing pitch. Gated entrance, but wasn't used while we were there, probably due to end of season stragglers - like us 😉. Local bus to Bamburgh Castle. We walked the beautiful coastline to the castle but got the bus back, only 2 stops, 2.5 miles. Pizza cabin at the rear of the site, very popular. We would definitely recommend this family friendly site. The maintenance men were working on the site in preparation for the winter and next season, but it didn't bother us, nice to see their forward planning.

Quiet and well kept

Nice level campsite and good facilities. Local to Holy island, Berwick upon Twee, Bamburgh castle, and Seahouse.

Disappointing

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Standard Plus Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Sep 2025

The site is advertised as 5 minute walk to Budle Bay and 15 minutes to Bamburgh. You need to drive into Bamburgh or walk, which is 45 mins walk away. Once you arrive at the site, you will see there are lots of unfinished building work being done and the work which is completed is in disrepair. Old, dirty caravans at the entrance, wood everywhere. Very run down. Showers were ok but no mirrors or shelves for toiletries and the lights switch off after a few minutes. Toilets and washing up facilities adequate. If we had not paid in advance, we would not have stayed. No outlook, just depressing. Internet and Wi-Fi poor. Will not return.

Excellent value

Medium Tent - Medium Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Sep 2025

Absolutely stunning park. I had two nights camping in a lovely spot next to river, big enough plot for my 4 man tent. Showers and toilets immaculate - lovely warm showers. Plenty of sinks to wash up, fridge to store cold food, little shop which I didn't use, but looked well stocked. Staff were lovely, will book again.

Great place - would definitely recommend

Glamping Cabin - River View (Two Bunk Beds)Sep 2025

Warm and friendly staff approach, always happy to help. Facilities well organised and kept clean. Our hut was just perfect for a weekend family get away. Walking paths and lots of nature around.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Medium Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2025

Really lovely place, lots of different kind of pitches and the staff were all great. Quiet and friendly. Mens showers could do with a refresh but it's a minor thing. Great place to remember for the future.

Nice site

VW-Type Campervan - XL Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2025

Staff are lovely and very helpful. Good facilities on site. The description says 5 mins walk from Budle Bay, which is technically true, but to get to the beach bit of Budle Bay it's more like 30-40min walk alongside a main road at times. Didn't seem to be a kitchen for campers to use, only for the huts, but may just have missed it. Showers are good as long as you're the only one using them! Play ground for the kids is great, onsite coffee and nearby pizza are both excellent.
