Fantastic campsite

Can't recommend this highly enough! Will was lovely and helpful, talked us through everything on site and even gave us a few recommendations for things to do in the local area. Campsite itself is beautiful and very well located for access to Coniston Lake and Windermere. Added bonus of fresh croissants and pain au chocolates available first thing in the morning, need to pre book these the night before. Shop on site closes at 6:30pm so make sure to arrive before then to got the order in. Toilets/showers newly refurbished and kept clean by the staff, just an overall great campsite. We will definitely be returning!

Really good

Really clean and friendly staff, super peaceful location. Will was eagerly helpful recommending where to go and made the whole experience really lovely.

It was a nice site with friendly staff

However, although it is a nice site, not really set up for campervans staying more than one night. There is no Elsan point, drinking water supply or grey water disposal point. The site needs an Elsan point, drinking water supply and grey waste disposal for campers etc.

Hi Gary, Glad you liked our slice of Lake District paradise. I'm sorry you felt that you would not be able to stay longer than one night in your campervan. We do have a facility for topping up drinking water, you just needed to ask at reception and we could have provided you with a hose we keep specifically for this purpose. We don't currently have a waste disposal point but this isn't something we advertise as being available on site either. We only fairly recently took over the site and have made many improvements to the overall camping experience. Adding a waste disposal point for campervans is very much on the list, especially as we plan to open all year next year. We do however have many campervans come and stay with us for multiple nights without issue. We hope you will come back and stay with us another time as we continue to develop the site. Lovely, with great pizza

A great place. It was the end of the season when I stayed, it was really quiet. Lovely flat pitches and well signposted through lanes from the main road. The facilities were good and clean. The onsite shop was well stocked and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Peaceful, beautiful, perfect

This site was one of the highlights of our trip to the lakes and completely unexpected. This is a gem of a site, with beautiful views, great loo block (clean and spacious), small shop with plenty of items, hot drinks (the hot chocolate was delicious!) and the most peaceful feeling. We absolutely loved visiting this site, and will definitely go back. They were mowing most of the day, which was a little annoying for noise, but we think there was a problem with the mower, so all is forgiven! It's worth noting that no one is at reception until 4pm, but the pitches were on a whiteboard and easy to find. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely get away

Lovely area, staff were wonderful. Views were stunning, facilities were what you would expect. Cabin and hot tub were fantastic, especially since we drove 6 hours on motor bike down. Would come here again! Thank you for having us! Xx

Great campsite

The site is very nice with pitch options that are not close together. Staff are friendly and the onsite food bar is excellent, pizza and breakfast buns.

Brilliant site

This site was brilliant. Clean and in a great location - we loved it.

Nice site

Nice site a little off the beaten track. Friendly warden, well stocked shop. Look forward to going back once shower and toilet renovations are done. Only downside for us was that there were so many fire pits which meant the van smelt all night but won't stop us returning.

Wonderful time had with friendly staff and all the amenities you would need or expect for the fair price paid.

Great little find

Great little campsite, off the beaten track but lovely welcome. Generous pitches, all with a very laid back vibe. Pizza kitchen open 2 nights a week is an added bonus 👍 Would definitely stay again.

Such a lovely atmosphere as soon as you go in, well run and loved the little shop. 10/10 - one of best campsites we have ever been to, will be back

Amazing campsite

Best shower I've had in a camping site. I pitched a large tent for me and my friends, we were 5 in total. The space is adequate and is close to the lakes, loved the metal bowls you have for firepits. Will definitely come back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Moss Howe Farm Campsite, great site and facilities. Pizza van on some nights, and also great shop for the essentials and you can also purchase fresh pastries for breakfast. Some days the food van is also open for breakfast. Hot water and showers, very clean and one of the best campsites I have stayed at. Thanks.

Camping site was great

Fantastic location and area was lovely. Would have liked a little more space between pitches and a changing area in the bathroom beside the showers, but other than that, it was amazing. Just to make you aware, the sheep are really loud at night - I liked it but my partner found it hard to sleep.

Fun base to rest if you want to do a lot of mountain walks

This was a lovely stay for 5 nights, especially when we wanted a base to come back to after mountain climbing! The pod and hot tub was lovely and we personally loved the outdoor kitchen during the one day of rain we had! Listening to the sounds was relaxing for us post Scafell walk! We looked over the campsite and saw how busy it was with friends, families with pets etc. If you fancy a lively camp where children, pets and friends/ families can go and you can play music, be near to other tents etc. this is the place to go! Definitely get some croissants for breakfast from the hub, as well as the delicious pizza on Wednesday and Saturdays!

Walkers beware

Staff very friendly. Bathrooms are worn and there are only 2 toilets for men, with no urinals. This meant queueing at peak time in the morning. Regarding location, it's not the campsite's fault, but footpath access in this part of the Lakes is poor, with many paths overgrown and obscured.

August holiday

The campsite was clean and well kept. Well stocked shop, pizza was good & breakfast was great but a bit slow. Coffee was a good option in morning (but not strong enough for me). Showers were reasonable and clean. Nice and hot but really need upgrading. Only 2 showers for women & 2 for men for a busy site and nowhere to change, they need some changing cubicles. Staff very helpful & friendly. Pitches very close and need more privacy e.g bushes or hedgerows between pitches. Fire pits were excellent and cheap logs to buy from shop. I would rate this campsite 6/10.

Amazing experience

First time me and my partner have gone camping and this was the perfect campsite to start our experience. First of all, the main lady at the campsite, who was in the reception/shop with her little dog Lola, was lovely, welcoming and helpful. She recommended lovely walks around the farm that me and my partner could do. The facilities on site were very clean and organised, with clear instructions/directions where to pitch. People around the campsite were very respectful and tidy, so this is perfect if you want a nice chilled camping trip away. The small shop is stocked with basics that you need whilst camping that you may have forgotten from home - food, hot/cold drinks, a bit of camping gear, and wood for a fire. The campsite is beautiful and I would definitely recommend this for families and couples, including dogs.

Amazing

Cleanest campsite facilities I've seen in a long time, amazing staff and great location. Small site, so less people, which means it's very peaceful and friendly. They have all you need at the shop and I loved seeing the sheep and a horse.

Found a south lakes gem!

Excellent location, fantastic facilities, with lovely views and welcoming staff. We will definitely visit again!
