Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

Overall 5 stars! First time camping with my partner and 6 month old puppy. Nice and spacious pitches, easily accessible as we went with a couple of other groups, but you couldn't hear one pitch to the next. Barn space and kitchen were perfect, stocked kitchen with cooking essentials and a great space to use if weather isn't good. Facilities were great, clean and tidy bathrooms at all times. Showers were good with nice and warm water, but not a great deal of space to keep clothes dry and get changed, although very manageable. Great location and close to a few nearby towns. Beautiful grounds with lovely woodland walks and ponds/lakes. Owners were lovely and friendly, very chatty and accommodating and happy to provide recommendations. Would definitely visit again and most definitely recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

The nicest campsite. Spacious pitches with stunning scenery. Facilities were great and very clean. The barn is so useful, especially on a wet night when you don't fancy cooking camp style. A full, well stocked kitchen is at hand, only thing missing is a freezer for ice blocks and for cooler boxes, but it does have a large fridge, so not a problem. The woodland walk is pretty, with lots to see and very sheltered. I would highly recommended it to anyone who wants peace, nature and space, but would also like to keep it a closely guarded secret. Thank you Matt and Freda.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

We stayed for 3 nights in May on pitch 4. Stunning views and so peaceful with clean facilities. Friendly welcome on arrival and the bonus of choosing our pitch, not allocated. We used the kitchen for washing up and the useful fridge.

Second time camping at Hincknowle. Beautiful location with stunning views, and a great location for walking. Benefits include a well equipped barn which provides a useful backup for sitting down and eating meals if the weather isn't good.

What a beautiful campsite, peaceful and serene. The various walks around the farm are fantastic. Matt and Freda were such lovely people and showed us around the campground and the cider barn which has free access to a lovely kitchen complete with a fridge freezer, hob and double oven. The barn had a wood burner and plenty of chairs and tables to eat at. The Half Moon pub is just a short stroll away as is the bus stop to Bridport. Didn't try the pub this time but we will on our next visit. All in all a great find for us as we only live an hour away and will definitely be returning. Excellent.

Our favourite ever campsite!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

We've stayed in many campsites over the years, and Hincknowle is our absolutely favourite by far! A beautiful setting, beautiful spacious pitches and everything was spotless. Frida was so helpful in showing us around and we enjoyed some of the amazing cider whilst watching the sunset. We will absolutely be back!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2025

A really beautiful, peaceful site, wonderful owners (lovely dogs!) with really clean toilets, a barn with pristine communal kitchen (complete with fridge for campers' use & hot water for washing up). By day there were pheasants and buzzards, by night an owl and huge skies perfect for stargazing. Everyone has their own numbered pitch which means no one comes and pitches up six inches away from you and the owners can't do enough to be helpful and make your stay a delight. My tent couldn't stand up to a bit of a breeze and I had to leave early (despite many offers of help from the owners!) but I'll be back to try again, with a tent that doesn't collapse if you so much as breathe on it (and with all its poles, which didn't help). Even once the tent was safely down, I was reluctant to leave. I stayed at least another two hours, enjoying the views while I finished a book and then walking down into the woods to see the ponds. This was a really nice site & really good experience and I'll be returning.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesSep 2024

Lovely site, unfortunately we were unable to take our camper to pitch due to weather. Owner friendly and helpful were able to pitch elsewhere on site. Pitches appeared to be a good size. Facilities are one of the best we have stayed on. Lovely barn where you can enjoy a lovely fire, low level lighting and a cider or two! Well equipped kitchen, very clean. WC and shower, facilities are basic - showers are warm and both clean. Plenty of walks to be taken around site and orchards. Very limited Wi-Fi or phone signal.

Beautiful Campsite

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

We loved our stay at Hincknowle and are looking to book again next year. With only 9 pitches, the site is lovely and peaceful and we were able to choose our pitch, which had amazing views of the countryside. The toilet and showers are kept clean and the communal barn is such a bonus, our girls loved playing table tennis and darts, and it's a great place to relax with a drink. Having use of the kitchen was brilliant, keeping our food cold in the fridge and being able to cook proper meals rather than using the camping stove all the time. The hosts, Matt & Freda, were very welcoming, our children enjoyed meeting their pigs and chickens and we enjoyed the cider and sausages we bought from them. They gave us great recommendations for days out, places to eat etc. They were always on hand if needed, without being too much. This is a gem of a campsite with beautiful scenery and wildlife to spot, thoroughly enjoyed by us all.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Wow, what a fantastic time we had, I stayed with my 5 grandchildren and daughter in law. We all absolutely loved it. The pitches are large and level with beautiful surroundings. We had a wonderful, friendly welcome with the added bonus to buy fresh eggs and sausages, not to mention the cider! The toilets and showers were extremely clean and modern, and removed any distant memories of old fashioned toilet blocks and dirty showers! The great added bonus for us was the beautifully designed barn, with dining tables and chairs, a well equipped squeaky clean kitchen and darts and table tennis. The children had so much fun, they didn't want to leave. We will certainly return and thank all at Hincknowle Cider Apple Farm camping for a thoroughly enjoyable time and creating a perfect camping experience.

What a hidden delight this site turned out to be. Tranquil with beautiful views and an abundance of wildlife. We were impressed by the spaciousness of the pitches with thoughtful spacing between pitches, it truly felt as though you were alone in the rolling countryside. Thank you Frida and Matt, we will be returning!

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Lovely well-kept campsite with great views, although out of the way, not really too far to the coast. Facilities clean and tidy, could possibly do with a couple more showers. Pizza and cider night on Saturday was a real treat. We really enjoyed our stay.

Third year, simply fantastic

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2024

This is a great campsite and very peaceful, I would highly recommend a stay here. The owners are super friendly and helpful and they take great care and attention to cleanliness. This is a great base for the area with so much to do and if you stay here over a weekend make sure you visit Bridport market, it very good with a huge variety of goods for sale. My only criticism about the campsite was that it’s not clear where to report too on arrival, a small sign to explain may be useful.

Great campsite with friendly owners

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2024

We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely peaceful walks around the farm. The large and well spaced pitches added to the sense of peace and quiet. We had one wet day but the barn and kitchen facilities made this better than it would have been without. The only thing that would make it better for us would be somewhere to re freeze ice packs. We may well have found our new favourite campsite.
