About the site

With panoramic views over the Tyne Valley and Pennine peaks, this peaceful campsite is a great option for campers seeking a no-frills getaway in nature. Located just outside of Acomb, a small village near Hexham, the site is easy to access from the A69 and makes a great base for exploring Northumberland. The site offers unmarked non electric grass pitches for tents in a spacious field overlooking the valley, non electric touring pitches for campervans and motorhomes and a further three roof tent pitches. The touring pitches are divided by woven willow screenings for privacy and come with private log seating areas or picnic benches. Awnings and gazebos are allowed on site, however, these are at an additional cost. From exploring the historic town of Hexham (ten minutes away) to visiting Hadrian's Wall or the Salmon Ladder on the River Tyne, there's plenty to explore locally. Further afield, Northumberland National Park and Newcastle are both under half an hour. BBQs are permitted as long as they are raised from the ground and are used in the designated areas. Campfires are permitted in the fire pit grills available for hire at the reception. Note that you are not allowed to bring your own firepits onsite. Please note that dogs are prohibited from the site.

Open from 1 April to 30 September.

A note from the site themselves...

We love our site as it's rustic and beautiful. We have fantastic views and the night skies are breathtaking, as are the sunsets and sunrises.

We have many returning campers, both from Europe and the UK. It makes us really proud of what we have achieved here. We wouldn't change it for the world. Set in a rural, peaceful location, our site is surrounded by wildlife, from curlew and barn owls to hares and roe deer, and yet we're just a stone's throw from the market town and shops of Hexham.
