Just ten minutes from Caernarfon and nestled at the foothills of Snowdon, Llys Derwen Caravan and Camping is a family-friendly site that offers a peaceful base for Snowdonia. Tents are welcome on non electric grass pitches and tourers can pitch up on electric grass pitches. Within 20 minutes of the coast you will be in a prime location for days out at local attractions like Caernarfon Castle or exploring the surrounding landscapes!

Stayed here for the weekend with my friends and would definitely recommend! Nathan was super friendly and helpful and the site was lovely and quiet! The facilities were very clean and the showers were lovely and hot :)

I have never had as easy an experience with this campsite. The owner, Nathan, was incredibly nice. Full of advice and directions. He was so accommodating. We arrived just after 7. We were welcomed by Nathan and handed an information sheet shortly after we settled in. After a long day driving, we were looking forward to a pint in the local pub and a hot shower. Nathan directed us to the local pub which helped considering the time of the evening. The campsite was impeccably clean and very well maintained. The showers were boiling hot and so powerful. Pity we didn't have another few days there. But will definitely return the next time we visit Snowdonia. Andy and Linda. (Dublin, Ireland)

Gorgeous little place. Quiet, beautifully maintained. Hot, powerful showers and everything so clean. Peaceful, undisturbed night's sleep. Absolute gem of a campsite.

We only stayed for one night, but are heading back later this week. Lovely picturesque setting, nice and quiet, loads of space between pitches. Really nice, informative host and lovely pub 300 yards away. Best shower I have ever had on a campsite, very hot, and powerful. Quick tip hang your clothes outside the cubicle. Super clean.

Such a lovely spot. We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. The owner was so welcoming, he provided us with a print out of near by walks and tourist spots to visit. We would definitely recommend and stay here again.

From the moment I drove into the site, I knew it would be perfect. The owner met me as I drove in. He was both professional and personal as he understood my camping requirements. The site is immaculate and is kept that way 24hours a day. It is clear that the owners are proud of the site and that the campers are all made to feel very welcome. Camping on my own, I felt safe and that nothing would be too much trouble. My pitch was beautiful, spacious and sunny. Thank you. I caught the bus to Llanberis easily, shopped in the village and ate a lovely meal in the nearby pub. I will definitely be back!

We had such a lovely time when we came to down for one night. The site is kept in excellent condition and the communal areas are all kept clean and tidy. Nathan is really friendly and helpful, really friendly staff, beautiful area and perfect for walking Snowdon!

As soon as we arrived onsite we were made to feel very welcomed. The facilities were spotlessly clean and well maintained. We would have taken advantage of the availability of fresh eggs and the hire of a fire pit if we were staying longer. Will definitely book here when visiting again and have already shared this site with friends.

This little campsite was immaculate, inside and out. We've never seen such beautifully clipped lawns! And the toilets and showers were spotless. The shower cubicles are large enough to hang your clothes up without them getting wet. The showers aren't on a timer, and the water stays hot. There is a hairdryer in the ladies (don't know about the men's). The dishwashing room has a fridge/freezer in it. There is free WIFI on site. You can hire a fire pit and buy logs and kindling. Also, they sell local honey, eggs from their hens, and ice creams and cold drinks. There is a pub with an outdoor seating area that is within a 5 minute walk. The village is only a 10 minute walk away for buying essentials. There are plenty of lovely walks from the site, but you can get a bus to either Caernarfon or Betws-Y-Coed. Nathan, the owner/manager was very warm and welcoming with a wealth of knowledge. I'll definitely be returning!

Fantastic site. Although we arrived a day early (my fault) owner came to meet us and gave us half a dozen fresh eggs also a welcome pack with local sites to see. Spotlessly clean and with all the facilities you could need when camping. I can't recommend this site enough.

Just spent a wonderful Easter weekend at Llys Derwen. Nathan is a fabulous host and works hard to keep all his guests happy. The site is perfectly located between the mountains and the sea, providing easy access to Eryri National Park, the North Wales Coast and Anglesey. We will be back. So many more adventures to be had.

Me and my partner just stayed here for 2 nights and couldn't have been happier with our stay. Nathan was a perfect host from the start, being very friendly and letting us know all the local amenities and things to do. The location was perfect for us, being only a 20 minute drive from Pen y Pass carpark, to hike up Snowdon. Also, nice and close to the coast. Our pitch area was very spacious and well kept, as were all the others on site. The toilets were very well looked after and the showers were the best I've experienced on a campsite! And to top it all off, we left with some eggs from his own chickens and some lovely local honey, sold in his little shop.

Lovely campsite, staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Great location close to lots of sites and beautiful walks. All facilities were very clean and well kept, great value for money. Would definitely stay again and I highly recommend.

We were both extremely impressed by how we were made so welcome by the owner of the site, Nathan, he couldn't do enough for us. He keeps the site immaculate, the washrooms and appearance of the site was impeccable. The location was peaceful and ideal for family or solo campers. I've been to several sites in the area but none of them reached the quality of service and great location of this site. Highly recommend the site.

We stayed for 5 days and could have easily stayed longer. Nathan was a perfect host and greeted us upon arrival, he'd been thoughtful in our pitch position and gave us a quick tour to settle in. He was also kind enough to print out a list of local activities and areas of interest to visit during our stay. The place itself is extremely well maintained, with plenty of room and flat pitches, the facilities were always clean and fresh. At no point did I have to wait or queue to use any facility like some of the more crowded sites. There were families there, so the children were able to interact and play. Of an evening, the site was respectful and peaceful with no noise disturbances. Beautiful views all around, easy access to Zip World and Snowdon, plus many more. I can't recommend enough and when we return to Wales, I'll be here again.

We had such a friendly welcome after a very long drive and loved our stay, we can't fault this campsite. Very helpful and had super clean facilities. A well-kept site with great pitches and such a brilliant location for Snowdon. Hope to come back again, especially to see the cat!

Very clean and tidy little campsite. They’ve got a secure field where you can let your dog run and a chicken coop from which you can get fresh eggs.

The campsite was in a beautiful location. Reception team were really friendly and helpful. Indoor toilet and shower blocks were very clean and showers were hot. The indoor dishwashing block was also a brilliant touch. Would definitely stay here again.
