Lovely, simple farm camping field in a good position to explore the Bodmin area. Everything clean and as described. Washing up area could be at a better height. Showers good. Loos are well distributed and spotless but are chemical.

Lovely site and great find

Great site, this is my second visit now and I'll definitely be back. Richard is very friendly, and accommodating. I see him regularly walking around cleaning the toilets, and it's kept well considering he allows fires, you would hardly guess. It's off the beaten track in an idyllic setting, and reasonably flat also. Couldn't ask for more in fairness. Thanks Richard! 😊

Very peaceful close to Eden Project

As described - a camping field, toilets basic but clean, hot showers. Plenty of peace and quiet and excellent owner Richard. A must for relaxing time. Take supplies with you.

Everything you need loo showers washing up freedom friendliness. No mod cons. Perfect

The camping field

Friendly clean and pleasant site. Showers were hot and portaloos cleaned everyday. No mess. Pitched where we chose to. The owner was nice and friendly. Nice neighbours and the owl didn't keep us up.

Amazing place

It is what it says by camping field. Open space. Park where you like. Beautiful views and friendly owner. Great price and toilets very clean, portaloo dotted around. Perfection. Highly recommended to those who just want somewhere to park with beautiful views friendly owner friendly owner. Toilets bins and a safe place to park

Beautiful and clean campsite

Beautiful campsite with clean facilities, loved the shower. Ray is a lovely person with lots of knowledge of the area. Recommend it absolutely!

Lovely place with an easy access and clean facilities

This campsite was easy to access from our trip to the Eden Project. Very spacious and clean. Would definitely book again.

Simple but beautiful and basically a perfect stay!

Clean and hot showers, electric, water, and plenty of space in a large field. It was about a perfect a stay as we could have had. The sunset was stunning! Thank you!

A friendly stopover

It’s a field - basic but with everything you need and a friendly welcome from the owner. Highly recommended and only a few miles from the Eden Project.

Lovely, quiet and clean facilities

Unfortunately it was raining the day we were supposed to arrive and so we decided to come the next day instead. The owner was very kind and offered us an extra night, which we were unable to take up. The toilets are portaloos, which are kept clean, but aren't the nicest to use. The showers were spotless and the dishwashing facilities were fine too. It is a little expensive for a camping field with portaloos.

Exactly as advertised, and as reviewed many times previously. One thing to note: the field slopes throughout, and there are few relatively level pitches.

Great place worth returning to

A simple and charming arrangement. Lots of space with delightful views. Warm a friendly owner/operator who is engaging and accommodating. I will visit again soon.

Our stay

We chose this site because it is in the centre of the area that we wanted to visit. We found the site was very clean and also very quiet. It was ideal for our 3 dogs as there was plenty of space between each pitch. The owner was also very helpful.

Camping in a field

Simple camping within sight of Helman Tor with basic facilities and campfires permitted. Agreeably off the beaten track with good hiking and biking access to Luxulyan Valley and surrounding area. The farm cat was very friendly!

Simply just a brilliant experience for a brilliant price

My experience with this campsite is awesome and I will be coming back to this site again if I ever stop in Cornwall. Richard is a down to earth, very nice and helpful bloke. He knows the area well and is happy to help you find areas to go and explore. However he isn't "pesky", if that's the way of putting it. He will leave you be and let you enjoy your camp. The campsite itself is very clean and quiet and the grass is well kept. The toilets are dotted all around the site so no million mile walks to the loo. And Richard is always there cleaning and making sure they are clean, which isn't what I can say for other sites I've been on. The showers are hot and clean. The washing up area is great. Richard helped us with a firepit and a crate of firewood for just a fiver, which lasted us the night. And on our last day we weren't rushed out like a production centre. We was greeted and we left happy. 10/10. If you're looking to camp in Cornwall and don't need silly facilities like a resort etc, Richard and The Camping Field is where you want to be.

I can't wait to return

This campsite is not only beautiful and perfect, it is hosted by the most gorgeous friendly black cat. The farmer is the best sort of person you could ever wish to meet.

Back to basics

Great site, spotless, grass kept well, really friendly and quiet after ten. Honest review to be given, wasn't expecting portaloos like a festival. Yet, they are dotted around the site, so never far from one. Well stocked hand wash, toilet roll and even air freshener. Plus, they were spotlessly clean. The showers in a converted shed. Yet warm, worked and did the job 👍👍 Would I use it again? Yes I would. Plus, would recommend this site to others. Location is stunning. Downside to site if you're taking a caravan enter from far side. Easier route, if your nervous towing caravan, not for you, full stop. There are some tight spots. Yet that's not the site's fault. Plus, field does drop away so make sure you take blocks with you. Conclusion, advertised as back to basics and they have cornered a market very well. The site is run great and for what's advertised, it's 100 percent right. Thank you for a great stay, I will be back again 👍👍

Best field ever!

What can we say, other than we will be returning again and again and again! The location is beautiful, with 360 views around. It's set in a gorgeous village with the friendliest, most helpful people. The field is the closest you will get to traditional/wild camping with the added bonus of toilets, showers and somewhere to wash your pots. The site is kept incredibly clean, the toilets are checked and cleaned multiple times a day. There ae more than enough toilets, dotted around the site so there are no long waits or walking miles to one. Showers are hot and have power. There is everything you need for basic camping. Richard (the owner) is fantastic. The most welcoming, friendly man who we have had the best laugh with. He has taken the time to show our kids his beautiful ponies and has recommendations and knowledge of things to do. We spoke to other campers who return here year after year and we will be joining the list of returning campers. The only thing we could change is how far away we live to The Camping Field. We would be there again in a heartbeat. We are gutted to be home and miss the site, the ponies and seeing Richard and his white van! Never change, the site is just perfect! See you soon! Lovely and quiet

A very friendly owner who tries to keep the facilities clean, but the chemical toilets are just not pleasant. Women and men use the same toilets. The showers are more pleasant.

Great time again

Second year staying here. I don't have any complaints. My 10 year old son was building our new BBQ and didn't have any tools. Richard is very approachable and my boy happily went and asked him for tools which, even though he was a bit busy, said he would grab some better ones for him when had done what he needed too and he did. Offered help if I needed it pitching the tent. My hook up stopped working and then worked again and even though I had texted to say was working again, he personally came round to check was all good now. Price is very reasonable. I love hearing the cows in a neighbours field. Hopefully will come back again next year too.

Nice site

Lovely site for basic needs to meet, a short stay. Just a 10 minute drive to the Eden project. Only thing was the narrow bendy lanes to get to the site - towing the caravan was a bit tricky, but we managed.

Everything you could ask for in one place! Pets and fires allowed, cleaning facilities and clean toilets! Richard (the owner) was absolutely brilliant and very helpful. Top class.
