Excellent

Write up doesn’t do it justice! Lovey! Porta loos a plenty and super clean! Offered a shuttle service to the Eden sessions which meant we could have a beer (or 2!)

A lovely spot in the middle of Cornwall

We went down to Cornwall for a gig at the Eden Project and had booked The Camping Field - turned out perfectly. Lovely open field with plenty of space. We hadn't booked electric but mobile phones needed charging so we asked - no problemo. And the icing on the cake was that we were offered a lift over to Eden by the very friendly owner, so 15 minutes after arriving we were sitting on a haybale in the back of his van - he even came and picked us up at 11.30pm! It's a basic, unpretentious site but the portaloos were clean, the showers were hot, and it's amazing value for money - what's not to like? And it's only half an hour over to the north coast, where we were going the following morning. We'll be back!

Perfect and peaceful

We arrived to choose our own pitch and everything was as expected with the facilities as listed, and everything was spotlessly clean. The owner was friendly and helpful. Our dogs loved the place. The campsite is central to reaching loads of places, whether to walk or sightseeing. Bodmin was only 15 minutes by car.

Perfect chilled weekend

Amazing location close to the Eden Project. Lovely, spacious and well-maintained field. There are portaloos in varying locations around the field, so it's never too far of a walk for when you need to go! There are two showers in a wooden cabin, with nice warm water. The cleanliness was honestly above and beyond my expectations. Both showers and portaloos were regularly cleaned and are clearly well looked after. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Would definitely recommend and will be returning for sure ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Friendly camping in the middle of Cornwall

I stayed here for four nights, when I was walking the Saint's Way from Padstow to Fowey. It's really convenient for that as it's bang in the middle of Cornwall and actually on the Way. (Also not far from the A30). The owner is really friendly and helpful (jump-starting a camper's van and helping me fix my van window). He's also full of local information and had offered to pick up some of the campers from a concert at the Eden Project, nearby. The field is a bit slopey, but fine if you have a van with ramps; tents can pitch on the flatter bit at the top. There are two lovely showers in a shed (the water is shared with the cows, so check it's switched on!); several portaloos and the only basin is a big trough in another shed. It's a really lovely, peaceful place to stay and my dog loved it too.

Peaceful and relaxing

The Camping Field is down a narrow lane which can get congested, but this does not take away from its excellent location. Very quiet and peaceful, with plenty of space to pitch where you like. Fire pits are allowed so evenings by the fire are a wonderful way to relax. Portaloos are clean and the showers are good. Will be going again.

Great simple field campsite

Good simple campsite, great location for Eden Project, very pleasant, chatty owner. We'd definitely stay again.

Great little site

Lovely, clean campsite and friendly owner. Great stay. Only downside is the really tiny lane to get to it!

Beautiful dairy country

In the middle of beautiful Cornish dairy country. A lovely, rural site in the rolling country north of St Austell. A simple site well done. If you want to just be, not having all the rule and formality of club sites then this site is for you. Our hosts Richard and Mandy were so helpful. We had power issues on arrival. They sorted it straight away in the pouring rain and we had no problems again. Mandy gave us towels to dry our dog off after setting up when we all got a bit wet. The area is lovely for walks including Helman Tor and the Luxulyan Valley. Trains run from Luxulyan station to Newquay and Par and all places from there. Remember to ask the train to stop at Luxulyan! We walked down the Luxulyan valley to Par beach and took the train back to make it a shorter trip. The Eden Centre and the Lost Garden of Heligan are close by. The local villages of Luxulyan and Lanivet both have lovely pubs. 5 mins and 15 mins respectively. We will be back.

Great, quiet campsite!

Great campsite, very quiet but it is the end of the season! The main man was very helpful and informative, great to chat to! Showers were very clean and easy to use.

Great site

Site advertised itself as back to basics. It was, but far better than I expected for the cost. Great views, all amenities were basic, e.g portaloos but were really clean and well placed. Very spacious site.

This site is wonderful. It's quiet, off the beaten track and it's a large field. I'm going back as soon as I can.

A gem of a site, amazing views and so peaceful

Perfect gem of a site. Amazing views and so peaceful. Massive luscious green field, fire pits about and picnic benches. Amazing views, so peaceful and beautiful and quiet. Richard, the owner is an awesome guy, so laid back - arrive before 10pm, leave whenever you feel like it. Two spotless showers, amazing walks all around. Pub and village via a lovely walk through shaded trees. Amazing, dog friendly beaches 7 miles away. Supermarkets are 10 mins away. We can't praise this site enough. 10 mins to the Eden Project which is ideal. Central location for all of Cornwall. Massive size pitches, so it felt like we were the only ones on the site. I cannot recommended this site enough - the most beautiful site we have been on in the UK and the price is amazing £15 or £21 for electric. Wow. Ideal for children, as massive central field to play in and so dog friendly. A beautiful small wild flower garden at the top of the site. Very large pot wash in a wooden hut. Could not have been more perfect, definitely be back. Thank you.

Lovely rural setting and very peaceful and quiet. Only stayed one night but will be back again. Highly recommended.

Lovely, relaxed site

Great small site in a wonderful location. Very friendly owner. Good dog walks straight from the site and a gentle 45 min stroll to the pub for lunch at Luxulyan. The Luxulyan Valley is fabulous and we are planning to come back again and explore it further - possibly walk down to Par beach and get the train back.

Excellent, clean and tidy camping field. Very accommodating - nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend for off grid camping.
